@@BrunoPozo4Real - Sony cameras are expensive tinker toys. Sony does not even manufacture their own lenses, and the companies they choose are very expensive. Moreover, one model flash unit, as an example, will not be compatible with future Sony cameras, and Sony has quite a small market share for this reason, among many other reasons. Of course, you'll see sponsored videos which disagree with this, and they disagree very specifically because they are financially sponsored, like paid commercials for Sony - Color science also matters, which most manufacturers more or less ignore, except for Canon, Nikon, and most of all Fuji. Fuji now outsells all others in the formats which they manufacture, which does not include full frame cameras, but does indeed include large format (and DX) cameras.
@@scotthullinger4684 I have found Sony cameras are cheaper than Canon (in specs, specifically video since thats my focus). But I only have limited experience with Sony, I’ve always been a Canon guy and loved their products.
@@BrunoPozo4Real - Canon is #2 in my book, and Fuji is #1 - If you want full frame, then you MUST choose something besides Fuji, simply because Fuji makes NO Full Frame, just large format and DX format.
Sadly no. To record the screen on Canon cameras (currently) is to use an external monitor and record that. Or connect it to a capture card and record the screen on your laptop. Hope this helps
Isn't annoying so many call this lens a kit lens. It's not! The non-L version is the kit lens. Not many can afford this lens. I love mine! Great walk around lens.
I do not slow down 24fps. 24fps is the slowest video can play without looking choppy. So if I want to shoot slow motion, I shoot in 30fps, 60fps or 120fps. Then I slow each one down to 24 fps, the speed changes depending on the fps I shoot in. Hope this helps!
There is definitely less noise when using standard in low light. To help combat that, I usually expose low light footage a stop or two higher than normal, and bring it down in post.
This is great thanks! The only thing is sometimes you say a term but that's not what it is in the settings. You said -1 when it was actually 0 for switch tracked subjects. And you said enable for eye detection but its auto. Small things in the best video review I've seen for AF in the camera I bought!
I'm just starting the topic of filming on the C R6MII. I've only seen two of your videos - one about AF and the other about coloring videos in Premiere pro (I had a problem with coloring because I don't know PP yet and you explained what to do with what to make the colors look good). They are great, even though they are very short. Are you planning to record a longer video on these two topics? How to set up the CR6MII exactly and how to best process videos in Premiere PRO? Congratulations on the great materials on this topic!
Thank you for the kind words. I do have a full guide on how to setup clog3 for cinematic video here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r6u8fBEQ_sA.htmlsi=V-eYSKOZ7ylerlko As for color grading I only have the short tutorial, but I can work on a detailed guide later.
It’s funny reading the comments. This is obvious a cannon channel, and Bruno just went and pissed off his hardcore cannon fans. Canon vs Sony debate is always fun. Nobody is changing anyone’s mind because we’ve all sunk so much money into our choice that it would hurt to bad to admit that the opposite choice was better. At the end of the day, most users will not meet their limitations with either company, and can product professional level products with either company. Let’s not forget that Sony stole Nikons spot in this debate. They clearly are growing more rapidly in new users than any other camera company. Let me end by adding fuel to the fire. Sony allows third party lenses Sony has a more complete native lens lineup Sony low light video performance is a thing of legend. It’s honestly hard to comprehend once you’ve used it. Sony has had a really boring 2024 while cannon has been doing some cool stuff catching up. Cannon has those super applealing skin tones. Cannon has been fairly innovative with their recent lens production. Cannon markets as photo first. So that draws photographers. Cannon has a huge fan/user base. From what I can tell Sony is taking over.
Well said and pretty much my experience as well. Almost every shoot I go on with other videographers, I see mostly Sony. I always feel like the odd guy out with the Canon camera. And hey I’m not telling anyone to do anything they don’t want to do. I just wanted to share a perspective around these brands. Cheers mate
Ok so let me know if I’m understanding correctly… before i turn on clog 3, I should set my white balance up first, correct? Once my WB is properly set, then I can proceed to turn on clog 3?
Sir, my camera is not getting the same quality as yours. What should I do? The video is not coming out well in my camera but the photo quality is good.
Most of video quality comes from the lens. But if you want to know the settings I use to get the most high quality video then check this tutorial out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r6u8fBEQ_sA.htmlsi=QI1Etw_EAki58g7A

Great review! Dumb question--the amazon description says that max signal it will accept is 4k30. Will it then not display a 4k60 or 120 signal at all? Or will it just downgrade it somehow? That's the one thing that's making me think I should just get a Shinobi. Thanks!
It automatically will reduce a 4k60 signal into a 1080p60. I would go Shinobi if you have the budget for it. I gifted this monitor to my friend, and it started having buggy issues. I get why people joke on Andycine now.
@@BrunoPozo4Real Thanks very much for the info and advice--I cheapskated out on my last monitor, a Desview, also super bright, that I haven't been wild about. Probably time for me to learn my lesson. Thank's again for the great video!
Thank you so much for the video. I noticed that you have an external monitor connected, but the camera screen is also working. How did you manage to do this?
@@vsevolodtrofimov4999 set the camera to video mode and manual. Then it’s in the red camera menu, page 8, HDMI Display, then choose the Camera + Monitor option. Keep in mind that you cannot record internally with that option enabled. Cheers
I have a guide on the best settings to use on the r6ii for the best video quality: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r6u8fBEQ_sA.htmlsi=lHoQEpm19HK41qPT
Here is a video that explains it. Basically you need to put it in a folder within the adobe application file. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iUAe4lvwWBs.html
Here are the LUT packs I recommend using: Clog 3 Exposure LUTs - dominey.lemonsqueezy.com/buy/... Gamut Adagio LUTs - gamut.io/product/adagio/?gamut=brunopozo
Yes. That is if your performance clip has audio, and you have a separate audio track that you want to sync to it. However it sounds like your video and audio are not matching. To fix that requires manually moving the audio track until it matches the video file.
hi.. thanks for the tip.. however, i got an issue that when recording from 2 wireless mics like DJI Mic, both mics are baked into both channels.. any way to separate them onto 1 channel each please?
@@BrunoPozo4Real correction.. i tried it again.. it now works.. did not change anything.. i wonder if i may have not connected the cable properly, since the port is very close to the port cover and it seems to get in the way when connecting.
@@PrashantVideography Strange, my RODE pros record each track individually (left and right) unless I change the setting on the RODE from Mono to Stereo. Maybe there is a setting on the R6 that I don't know about then.
The Sony GM 24-70 mii is $2300, that’s the RF equivalent. You can get a EF 24-70 for $1800. You could get a r6mii equivalent in the r8 for$1200 bucks. It’s not a cinema camera but it produces great images at an affordable price. I also think the 2 points on low light and dynamic range are one and the same. Canon does poorly in shadows, yes, but great in highlights. That allows the user flexibility, long as you know something about the camera. Overall Canon makes hybrid cameras, while many of Sony focuses on video. Sony does have great cameras for photography , but canon out performs them overall with great hybrid cameras. R6 can produce fantastic images for both photo and video, with specs that produce for all types of photo/video users. Just my opinion, as I do acknowledge this video is for filmmakers specifically, but I wanted to defend Canon.
These are all fair points, and the R8 is a great steal when it comes to the image quality to price. But it does miss some important professional features that I am used to now like dual SD card slots, bigger battery, and IBIS. But honestly you don’t NEED those things, and a rig can solve those issues no problem haha. Appreciate the input tho. I didnt realize I did show the updated GM 24-70 ii. 🤦 Cheers mate! Im Canon gamg
on the Log Settings, what is the View Assist option and why you leave it OFF ? (the video is a bit too fast, especially for people who depend on reading the subtitles)
Sorry about that, I’ll keep that in mind for the future! View Assist allows the preview of the video on the camera to have contrast/color added. When view assist is off it will keep the log look which is grey/low contrast. I trun view assist off since it often messes up my exposure, since the way they expose the preview image is different from how I expose.
Thank you so much for being so concise and clear on explaining all these settings ! You made c log 3 less intimidating and I also discovered some cool features I did not know the camera had like the color coding and the aperture fractions 😮 thank you!!!!!!
