I have the R8 and the R6 II and the R8 will start to show that thermometer overheating gauge just being out on a hot day without it even recording. I've shot on 95-100 degree days with the R8 being secondary camera and the thermometer gauge will be halfway to overheat protection without it being used at all while the R6 II will keep humming along recording in 4K.

@@BrunoPozo4Real From what I understand, the R8 is all plastic and in a smaller body so there's less heat conducting/shedding metallic materials and with it just being a smaller body, there's just less "space" for heat to go. The R6 II is made of some sort of metallic frame so it helps with heat dissipation. Just the other day, I was shooting a 2 camera interview with the two cameras in a controlled indoor environment. It wasn't even hot in the large room, but even just recording 1080p for 5-10 minutes at a time, the R8's temp gauge kept showing up on the screen. Not it wasn't anywhere near overheating, just that the fact that the warning came onscreen to begin with. But don't get me wrong, I have ZERO regrets about getting the R8 as my B Cam. Exact same sensor and color science helps with editing multi-angle videos. I really don't see any downside to the R8 as a secondary camera. It has never actually overheated and turned off on me.

@@smc1377 Wow that is surprising though. That's why I wanted to review the R8 because it really is the same image quality as the r6ii cause of the same sensor. That's good to know tho, cheers!

Great video Bruno! I'm not a Canon user but I definitely love many elements of this video. You did a fantastic job with how the first 30 seconds is straight to the point. Great use of B-rolls, different camera angles and amazing storytelling skills. The audio and lighting are great too. I love that you have a very natural voice as well. Clear and concise. Well done. Based on this, to make my video shooting easier I ended up setting Zebra to the DOF button and False Colour to the M Fn button. Very helpful and no-fuss.

I personally use the Falcam quick release cage system for the r6ii. My only qualm with it is that it doesn't pair up well with the Smallrig vmount. Otherwise the cage is absolutely perfect and it lives on my camera.

Hey Bruno, such a great and helpfull Review! Your videos helped me a LOT to improve the use of my R6 MkII. But I have one question, because you have mentioned the External Monitor/Touchfocus problem and a workaround for you. I do 90% of the time Weddings and use a Atomos Shinobi, but when using this Monitor I only use the Single or Expand Poit AF with the Joystick on the back, but this drives me nuts XD Was thinking about going back to use tha cam without extrenal monitor and use the touch focus with face/eye detection instead. Hope this all makes sense :)

Yeah I completely hear you on this. That’s why I don’t always use the monitor because of the focus changes I have to make. But I’ve gotten used to it. Ideally I would get a monitor recorder so that I can keep my touch focus capabilities on the back screen and use the monitor to record the video. Cheers mate

Yeah if you want to use an external screen and record internally the screen has to be off. Annoying limitation but it is what it is!

I have a dylema between clog3 with IPB light(170Mbps) vs regular 8bit IPB standard (230Mbps). Which one should be better image quality? Im into filming weddings mainly. Btw great video✌🏻

I find the 10-bit Clog 3 with a wider dynamic range better, but it is more susceptible to issues if you don’t properly expose. So definitely get some practice before you make the switch to clog3. As for IPB vs IPB light, I personally don’t see much of a difference and I like the smaller files of the IPB light, so thats what I shoot on mostly whether in standard or clog3

There is no Lut support on the camera. I use an external monitor to view luts, but it wont be baked into the video

Made my switch to sony i used to have Canon R6 M2. The only thing that kept me from keeping my r6 m2 was the lacks of lenses choices and no 3rd party at all and lenses being heavy esp the R-L lenses. I bought Sony A7IV now it does feel like i downgraded because of the rolling shutter and crop in 4k60fps and some other issues but i couldnt keep my R6 m2 it was to heavy with the lenses and lacks of choices with 3rd party lenses. Bought sony a7iv to get away from canon and when sony announces new camera next year or this year will eventually buy new sony if sony makes better camera then the A7IV but end of the day i do not hate canon perfekt camera. I just couldnt stay on canon anymore

Yeah the RF lenses are HEAVY and crazy expensive. I do think Sony has an edge when it comes to small form factor while being strong in video. If you wanted a sony video camera why not the a7siii or FX30?

@@BrunoPozo4Real I am more focused on the photography side 😄 and when I do use the video mode probably just 5 minutes recording or less just to create some reels or cinematic videos
