Really well. In fact it has been two years and last night we were looking it over and commented on how the Color hasn’t even faded. I do however recommend first coating areas that were repaired like welded patch panels or rust repaired areas with POR15 or Tremclad rust paint first. We have two small spots that have bleeding through that I need to repair. Had I first sealed them with a rust paint we wouldn’t have to fix them now. Otherwise the stuff is tough and resists scratches etc well.
Thanks for the video. This will help me to install a floor pan and a cab mount. I would like to know , is where did you get the floor pan from ? Also do you know what gauge it is ? Thanks.
The Torque box comes in two configurations. One has the full box front to back. Maybe you have the partial torque boxes not sure. The torque box gets spot welded or plug welded to the new floor pan. The lower fender doesn’t touch the torque box so I may be misunderstanding your question.
@@StevesGarage26 I guess it’s called a fender tub mount support. It comes down from the fender and screws into the torque box with 2 screws. I’m replacing all floor pans, the the torque boxes and them 2 tub mount supports. As well as any preventative maintenance I can do while I’m down there. I priced all the parts out from eBay. Any other recommended sites to find these body parts to look at?
What if you could find a 2003 TJ with a perfect interior, good frame, no rust and you only had to replace the bouncy things and the steering things. What would you pay? Spoiler alert, i bought it. 4WD place is charging $4500 to replace everything underneath. Would you do it?
Great. We have one spot that has a bubble behind it we will be fixing but that’s where we treated rust. We learned that the best way to use this product is to seal body work areas first with a rust paint. The small fix will be easy since it’s textured anyway so blending is easy.
I have a 3.5” lift on my TJ. Is it ok to go back to stick pitman rather than the dropped. I’ve heard warnings the steering shaft will come out if you don’t drop it. TY
i wish my father worked on my jeep with me bought it i done a lot of work with it not to the extent of yours cause i’m only alone but man i wish i could do this
While I understand why, I think Rhino/Raptor/Bed liners used as paint for the exterior makes that vehicle look cheap and redneck. As another commenter posted, if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. All that does is add weight and short term satisfaction.
Great video! I’m a newbie keep owner, just bought a rust free 99 TJ. My interior is bare bones so I’ll also be lining it. I noticed you have a locking center console! Is that OEM for that year? I’d like to get one, I’f they make them. I know parts and accessories are plentiful for TJs but I’m still learning where to get good quality not Amazon quality? Thank!
Just subscribed. Great family project. Just picked up a 2000 for me and my Kid to do. What guage metal did you use on lower/side tub in front of the rear wheel?
