A lot of work but very gratifying! Done several myself with my dad and I'm great full for the memories! I'm 40 years old and just finished my recent Tj and my dad helped on it too! Lots of fun. #rustsucks
Thats awesome! making a lot of memories with my old man too. thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel! we should have part 3 up in a week!
Probably too late, but the ideal time to do the front hard brake lines are when the fenders are off & out of the way.... blew one of mine a month after swapping the fenders.... grr...
i wish my father worked on my jeep with me bought it i done a lot of work with it not to the extent of yours cause i’m only alone but man i wish i could do this
Just subscribed. Great family project. Just picked up a 2000 for me and my Kid to do. What guage metal did you use on lower/side tub in front of the rear wheel?
Yes the floor pans were welded and rust treated. We then seam sealed and primed followed by rust paint before finally spraying with Bedliner. The outer panel spot welds were filled in slowly so as to not distort the panel. They were then ground smooth with a flapper wheel and a skim coat of fibreglass applied. No seam sealer on the outside body. All used underneath and on floors where needed.
How did you guys replace that whole torque box without removing the whole tub? I have one side that’s completely rotted out. Don’t wanna unplug unnecessary components if there’s a way to just do side by side
We loosened the body mounts all around and then just jacked up the tub by an inch or so. just enough so we could drill out the tourque box and replace it.
The Torque box comes in two configurations. One has the full box front to back. Maybe you have the partial torque boxes not sure. The torque box gets spot welded or plug welded to the new floor pan. The lower fender doesn’t touch the torque box so I may be misunderstanding your question.
@@StevesGarage26 I guess it’s called a fender tub mount support. It comes down from the fender and screws into the torque box with 2 screws. I’m replacing all floor pans, the the torque boxes and them 2 tub mount supports. As well as any preventative maintenance I can do while I’m down there. I priced all the parts out from eBay. Any other recommended sites to find these body parts to look at?
