Don't navigate to a version 2 supercharger they are 120 or 150 kw. Non Teslas are not comparable with any version 2 superchargers. Only version 3 or 4 are compatible

That is true, however, the built in nav and the GM app only show compatible V3 and V3+ chargers.

Complained about EA charger but didn't say what was wrong. What charge speed did you get a EA?
@theaverageev
@theaverageev 2 дня назад
I detailed what was wrong? Just rewatched it. The two 350 kW chargers were down, I arrived and plugged into a charger that didn’t work when I tried to activate it, the rest of the dispensers were being used, and when I checked the dispensers/previous experience a month or so before leads me to believe at that point in time That the rest of the dispensers were derated. I did come back to this site to test each dispenser and confirm that all, but one were derated. When I’m on a family road trip, my number one priority is my family, so I’m not always able to get everything that everyone would want in a video. I will note that this station is now fully functional after having all of the dispensers and power cabinets replaced.

When would you be using adaptive cruise and thus lane centering on a road that is NOT mapped for supercruise? I don't think people use adaptive cruise for around town driving. It would be pointless.
@theaverageev

I literally almost always have adaptive cruise on. I drive lots of roads that are 45-60 every day. Local roads, but still worthy of adaptive cruise. Lane centering is a must in my opinion.

Does anyone know, if the "Ready By" and "Preferred Charged Time" are different which one wins? The time I charge does make a great difference in price ( 8 cents per KWH vs, 28 cents per KWH). I want to make sure it only charges at the preferred charged times. So if my "Preferred Charged Times" are between 10PM and 6PM. And the "Ready by: is set to 8:00AM. What happens? Thx! :-)

Have you seen similar throttling on the L2 charging side? I plugged my Equinox into my 9.6 kW L2 charger and it took 12 hours to go from 12% to 100% (had a long trip the next day). Today I charged from 53% to 85% and it took over 4 hours. In both cases the 40 A (9.6 kW) was throttled to 28 A (6.7 kW) around the 60-65% SOC area. That's so early. My 2023 Bolt EUV did this but was much later in SoC.
@Paul-cj1wb

So GM places the charging port for the Silverado EV on the driver's side rear exactly like Tesla, so no issues charging on V3's. The short cable reaches perfectly and you only take up 1 parking slot just like Teslas. Yet, a good number of people tow with their trucks, so they would have to unhitch to charge. Why not place it on the passenger's side right? But on other GM EV's (which generally don't tow), they placed the port on the driver's side left, requiring taking up 2 parking spots on V3's. Can someone explain all that logic that to me?
@felaxchow207
@felaxchow207 4 дня назад
The good news is when I spoke with a Tesla Energy tech that was commissioning the 20 stall v3 Magic Dock site is the current v3 dispenser footprint is the same as the v3+/v4. The only difference is that they’ll need to run an additional communication cable for the on post payment terminal if required by law. For the most part is the v3 dispensers is considered obsolete unless it was approved bill of materials prior 2024 during the permitting process. There’s a 40 stall site that’s in the process of being built outside of Tampa International Airport (TPA) that’ll have v3+/v4 posts. Also 24 Level 2 destination charging spots to boot.

Good commentary, glad to see it’s working well for you and other GM EV owners. Driver’s rear, driver’s rear, driver’s rear. @GM, when you design your next EV, put the charge port on the driver’s rear end please (Silverado EV for example). Easier to utilize without screwing up the rhythm of people who want to use Tesla chargers. As we move fwd, these particular locations are just going to get busier and busier.

Can someone help me- I’m new to EVs but I just bought a Chevy equinox ev 2lt. I’m interested in taking a long road trip from Minnesota to Texas (1221 miles), when I enter this trip into my navigation on the cars computer screen it says it will take 24 hrs- is this pretty accurate? With the Tesla chargers available, will that shorten the trip having more access to faster chargers potentially? Normally this trip would take 17 hours in a gas powered vehicle for reference. Trying to get on a cruise ship so I wouldn’t want to be late obviously! Should I realistically plan 24 hours for this trip?
@theaverageev
@theaverageev 8 дней назад
I just put it into A Better Route Planner and it says 21 hours. The charging looks little optimistic. I would say 22-23 hours including charging. If you build in a hotel stop with charging you could eliminate a charge session and be rested to start your cruise!
