Ho there! No, you actually put in a cold oven, the reason is because the temperature there is more stable versus in the house with ac coming in and out. Hope this helps :)
Thanks so much for your detailed video. You did a lot of work to make the vid. There are lots of another videos about alternatives to dairy creamer but many do not mention that the alternative creamers can curdle, especially if not warmed up. Again, thanks.
I have a question. In case we use young coconut, Do we need to warm up coconut water before blending? Or just blending mix and stir with kefir start powder?
Adding cardamom was a fantastic idea. In the west, nutmeg and cinnamon are OVERUSED and cardamom is underused. Cardamom has fabulous flavor that no other spice comes close to. I guess that is the Indian in me saying this as cardamom is used extensively used in desserts and savory foods and every bit worth it.
I cannot agree with you more, I think cardamom is fantastic and so underrated here in the USA. I definitely want to try more desserts with this spice, if you have any favorite dishes (sweet or savory) please let me know, I would love to try! Thank you so much for your comment :)
You don't have to do it, straining it is totally optional. That said, straining it takes away some of the natural clumps that can form, it creates a pillowy soft and frothy consistency. Most Japanese matcha producers i know of also recommend it. i think making it taste as great as possible is important for people who are struggling with coffee addiction and who are new to matcha.
Unfortuantely with budget, I have to stick with culinary grade for my latte's, but I think it tastes just fine! (I do make sure to use high quality Japanese organic matcha though.) I use 1/2 teaspoon matcha, 6 ounces water and 2 ounces milk in mine with some ginger powder sprinkled on top!
Ginger powder sounds like a great addition to the drink, i have to try this too! Yes, unfortunately, ceremonial matcha can be very expensive but if you found the brand that works for you and tastes great - thats all that matters! Thanks so much for sharing and your comment :)
If you have a freeze dryer make several different so you have enough to fill your freeze dryer trays with. And freeze dry your coffee creamer that you just made, and once done you can place into a blender or a food processor ingrained into a powder. This can be stored in mason jar or mylar pouches up to 20 years
What are you doing with the milk? Are you heating it to a specific temperature as you do with regular milk yogurt? And then cooling it to a specific temperature for adding the starter and fermenting it? (I do regular milk at about 190°, then down to 110-115°. Does coconut milk work the same way?) Can I use the previous batch's yogurt as starter for the next, or does it have to be a purchased starter? Thanks.
Hi there, i just saw your message, apologies for responding so late! I make sure the yogurt if at 80F (the blending actually warms it up) and if its too cold, you can place it in a glass jar over a warm water bath to warm it up. I don't heat it directly in the stove. I also have detailed description below the video, hope this helps :)
Hi! I just left a review on your other video with the 3 vegan creamers, and I just happened to come across this one. I have tried hazelnut milk and it's so good - I will definitely try this recipe. A couple of questions - have you ever tried using coconut water instead of the plain water to make the creamer? I saw another gal say that her secret ingredient to making nut milk is adding the coconut water, instead of the plain water...I'm wondering if this would work for a creamer or if it woudn't taste good since you are drinking it with coffee. Next question - any idea if macadamia nut creamer would taste good? And, last question - do you have any recommendations for where you can purchase nuts in bulk at a good price? Thank you!!
Hi again, i saw few more comments from you that i missed :( first of all - the creamer! I would not recommend using coconut water as a base, the reason why is because it has quite a bit of flavor and it also has naturally occurring sodium, which makes it slightly salty. I don't want the creamer to be salty so its a no for me. I think macadamia nuts would be fabulous for creamer, they are naturally fatty and would make a great thick creamer. Lastly, i recommend buying nuts at costco! They have very fresh and plenty of organic choices, their circulation is super high so i highly recommend them when you are looking for quality and freshness. I hope this helps, sorry it was so late :(
Hello I just found your channel a few hours ago, I subscribed, and immediately decided to try one of the creamer recipes. I am not vegan or vegetarian but I love food and want to incorporate more clean plant-based food in my diet. I will be starting a biblical Daniel fast for 21-30 days, and the fast consists of a vegan diet with no added or proceesed sugar, so I have been preparing by researching healthy and yummy recipes I can make. I have spent a lot of hours just searching for a vegan creamer, and although some of the other recipes sound good, your recipes are by far the cleanest recipes I have found, since I am not alound to add sugar to my food, these creamers will work. I have a major sweet tooth and was super skeptical that your creamer would be any good, and boy I was actually surprised. I decided to follow your recommendation, and do half cashew and half coconut, and I was so surprised that it was actually good, and my husband agrees. I think next time, I may try more cashews and little less coconut to see if I like that better, so the coconut flavor isn't as strong. I look forward to trying some of your other recipes. If you have any favorites that you think a non-vegan person like myself will love, please do share. Best wishes.
Thank you so much for your message!! Yes i try my best to use clean ingredients as much as possible, hope you got a chance to recreate some of the recipes 😊🙏🏻
You didnt boil the cocount milk ? Fermentation happens without boiling? If that we can even ferment cow milk without boiing? Just by putting on warm water bath
Hi there! No i didn't boil coconut milk as it will destroy some if the nutrients. The reason we boil dairy milk is to kill any potential bacteria, like salmonella etc. with coconuts we don't need to do it, water bath is good for that 😊👍🏻
This looks amazing! Thank you for the excellent video with all 3 options. Did anyone catch how long she heated the jars for? This was unclear to me. Thanks
Hi there, sorry for the late reply! I just somehow saw this comment.. i boiled them for half a minute, just enough to kill any potential bacteria on the glass :)
I havent tried making it without the eggs, but you might want to try using "flax eggs" which is ground flax seeds and some water. I am not sure how it would turn out though.
I bought a bamboo whisk to froth my matcha, but it didn't froth that well. Also the whisks started loosing their curl after only one use! Are there different qualities in the bamboo whisks and how can you tell the difference? Mine is a bit too large in comparison to other's I've seen, and I bought it from a specialised tea shop for a fair price (about 20 dollars)
Wow thats interesting.. it should work well, especially given the fact that you got it from specialty shop. I got mind from matchaful inline store, you are supposed to soak at it some warm water before you use it for the first time though.. so maybe thats it?
I tried it but I didn't know how to make it so I just put it in the milk and blended now I know I should have done better but I really enjoyed it I'm going to try and do it the way the video says.❤❤
Have you ever tried Bueno Coffee Substitute. I love the pecan praline. You brew it like coffee, you use only 4 level tablespoons to brew 12 cups of coffee very this, and I’m sure it will become your number 1 coffee.
I just tried matcha in late July. It tasted like spinach and I am now an avid fan. Trying to find a matcha that tastes the same as the one I first drank. It was so green! 😊
It takes some time to find "the one" but once you do, its the best feeling! It took me quite a few tries to find the one that i really liked. Welcome to the world of matcha 🍵 and thank you for sharing this :)
