I will have to make this!!! I bought some rose buds a few weeks ago that I wasn’t sure what to do with (besides tea)! 😂 Also got done espresso powder. Thanks for the recipe
Hi there, sorry for late reply. I am not sure how it will turn out with oat flour but its worth a try. I'm afraid that there is not much we can substitute coconut mil with :( unless you want to try dairy heavy cream? Hopefully your husband can tolerate dairy 🙏🏻
@@HolisticLongevity welp I haven't cooked in a while so it didn't exactly turn out the best it was to dry and ended up being chocolate bread but I left it out and it dried until it was inedible but the frosting turned into a delicious dip for strawberries so it wasn't a loss everyone loves the chocolate dip I used butter instead of almond butter so the consistency wasn't right but that's okay it was super fun to make and it was nice to just cook
@@mushroomboi4662 so happy to hear you had fun making it 🙂 you know, a lot of the times its just the act of making something rather that the actual meal that makes me so happy. As to the cake, its tricky with baking (especially gluten free) for it to come out exactly the same for everyone. A little change in ingredients, amounts, pan size/shape, or even different oven can make a big difference in final result. Hope next time it turns out better 🙏🏻
Hi Marcela 😊 i used a 9 inch (or 23cm) pan but you could also split between two 7 inch pans and stack them on top of each other with cream in the middle and on top. I’ve made it like that recently and it was great 👍🏻
Wow, that's a HUGE "shot" of Espresso!! How much is that in ml?? 250ml??? I can't do coffee anyway, so can I just leave it out or can I substitute it with a plant milk or coconut milk?
Yes it came out extra large 😅 but no, its only about 40ml, the glass is double-walled so maybe it looks bigger in the video than it actually is. if you can’t do coffee, just leave it out. Or you can create a “shot” with chicory root “coffee” (herbal substitute) and a little warm water just for the taste, otherwise its completely optional ☕️😊
Yes absolutely, i would use the same amount of honey or agave syrup in place of maple syrup. All the measurements and full recipe is in the description box below the video 🙂
I would do 1 tbsp of flaxseed powder mixed with 3 tbsp of water to replace 1 egg. I haven't tried it for this particular recipe though, so it might yield a slightly different consistency.
Hi there 🙂 coconut flour is dryer and if you end up using it you might need to add additional liquids. You can double the amount of brown rice flour instead of using almond flour, but you might find better luck with cassava or oat flour, hope it comes out good!
@@LtCmdrData-tu7jx hi there :) from what i know they have a few gf flour blends, which one do you have? I’m not sure how well it will work, but if you use it you’ll probably have to adjust ratios. Most blends have baking soda in it for example and thickeners, so just play around with it to recreate similar texture. Let me know how it turns out, i’d love to know if it works well!
@@HolisticLongevity My gf flour is a blend of Sweet rice flour, Whole Grain Brown Rice flour, Potato Starch, Whole Grain Sorghum flour, Tapioca flour, and Xanthan gum. Thank you so much! I’ll let you know how it turns out!
@@LtCmdrData-tu7jx this sounds like a great blend! I think they also gave garbanzo based one and that one might be odd for a cake. Thanks so much and happy baking 😊 hope it turns out great 🤞🏻
Paula Flores hi Paula 🙂 espresso is totally optional in this recipe, but if you have instant coffee powder, you could use it as well. Both contribute to depth and richness of flavor 👌
Hi Nadia! You are right, but its not processed and has a better glycemic load compared to sugar. It raises blood sugar slower than regular sugar and contains some minerals which makes for a good substitute 🙂
Do you mean the ingredients? Some of the ingredients fo get pricey sometimes :( but many are optional, like toppers for example or vanilla bean. Let me know if there are ingredients you are looking to find cheaper alternatives for 🙂
@@HolisticLongevity I'm South African and the ingredients here like, The Almond flour, cacao, almond butter, coconut oil and maple syrup even the pistachio topping or for example almond milk, are super expensive. It is really hard to live a healthy heating, like dairy free, vegan, gluten free or keto lifestyle here.. Esp if one is of the average income. I feel that's why many people in general are not healthy in what they eat because it's simply too expensive. Which is sad actually if you ask me. 😔
@@shaymahosmanbadroodien9704 i understand exactly what you mean, this is very frustrating.. you know in US its not cheap either, but its getting to be more affordable as these choices are becoming more main stream. But, for example, buying organic vegetables from farmers market is outrageously expensive here. I am from Ukraine originally and remember shopping at farmers markets all the time where you can find an abundance of fresh seasonal produce for very cheap.. whereas the more "unusual" stuff like coconut oil, almond milk, etc. is way overpriced there. So i guess there is pluses and minuses everywhere 🙂 i hope the demand in South Africa can lower the prices soon. if enough people prefer these options, they should become more available and affordable 🤞🏻
Hi Helen, thanks for your comment. Eggs are not dairy actually. Dairy comes from the milk and most dairy products include lactose, which is most often what causes dairy intolerance. Both eggs and dairy are considered animal products of course, and this recipe is not vegan.
Are you talking about almond butter? Thats the only “butter” i used in this recipe :) i just rewatched my own vid because i do use butter in my recipes sometimes, but not this time.
