I think the episode break point was a scrapped idea of game being sold in episodes which was later done on Revelations 2. But I imagine it was scrapped pretty late if they kept the recaps
I didn't think about it until now, but although CAPCOM Vancouver were forced to be the "DEADRISING Devs", they really only made DR2, and a spin-off of 2, so how did they go wrong with DR3? Only their 2nd go at the franchise.
Honestly replaying the trilogy I had learned to appreciate them as their own unique experiences that are honestly stuck in my mind and still revisit to this day.
I think the people are who playing this retrospectively will not appreciate it. You had to have plaid it when it came out . The same for Zero thst came out on the GameCube … this is a good game and better than 3
Hey so a question. I am unsure if this game really could be for me as i don't think the fantasy setting really fits resident evil. Yet i am really interested in shadows of rose. Would you recommend the game given these circumstances? If yes i would buy it with a black friday discount.
Might be a bit biased but i think the game is great. Having all these different characters and changes of locations really managed to keep me engaged into the plot while also giving us a nice switch of horror and action segments which were not interrupted by each other. I also really enjoyed the episodic nature with it feeling like i was binging a horror and mystery thriller type show. Since i am not an OG fan in fact i didn't really enjoy 0 so far as the camera just isn't for me and haven't played that many games of the series yet (only the revelations duology, a bit of 7 and a bit of 0) i might be biased as said. I'd still give this game an 8/10
To be honest, I have mixed feelings about it nothing from the 1 dead rising 2 in the second dead, rising 2 all the boss fights are the same, except for the two of them and minor changes to it I think they should just stuck to one game and bring Frank back as a DLC
I think most of your geometry/ai issues are because of the PC port I've been playing dead rising for about 2 years on my 360 and the AI isn't that bad for me, Psychopath are have damn good AI for me
As a big visual novel fan who thought DDLC was just alright, I'm actually happy to see people generally not into VNs quite like DDLC. It does have some fun ideas. Also this is my fav Retrospective of DDLC ive seen on RU-vid yet
I love the long video gaming lores....its nothing like hearing interesting things about games we beloved. Alot of times when i play certain games.... especially open world or open environment games i tend to ping pong back n forth I'll do a few main story mission then do a few side quest.... depending on how difficulty of a certain rescue i may try to save as many as i could ...But most my time im exploring new mall areas & trying on silly outfits to keep my game intersting.....the boss battle characters are easy to kill....As long as i keep a good flow of medit placks, orange juice or coffee cremers.....the game is sweet.....! My only complain is i hate when the zombies cluster up where it makes moving through them competiting ....but thats here nor there.....!!!!! The game is awesome ...! 🤔🕹️🤔🕹️🤔🕹️👍🕹️
I don't have much good to say about the story of this game, but the gameplay is some of the best in the series. The amount of awesome things that I pulled off because of the gunplay the movement the melee and the enemy ai was countless
The actual programming of the game sucks. There are a lot of details in the game that should have been avoided like in the Arctic Transport Station with the moths that keep resurrecting at the only typewriter location and in the basement area where the player has to travel through numerous times. The enemies require much more bullets to destroy than in other RE games it seems. All in all the game was poorly thought out. Dare I mention the fire extinguisher.
Idk I enjoyed DR2 more than OTR. OTR seemed like an unneeded lazy spin off. And the fact his model is so gross and wide he looks awkward in any outfit you put on him ESPECIALLY the ninja costume. He reminds of Beverly Hills Ninja with Chris Farley lmao
Just finished this game for the first time. I love and miss the fixed camera era of RE. However this game was a slog. I was so thankful it finally came to an end. Doubt I’ll ever go back and replay it. CV made me think RE 0 is a masterpiece in comparison.
Honestly RE Rev 1 is my favorite in the series It is the reason i'm a fan This is my most played 3DS game. I love this game so much. I also love the final boss
Best game in the series, closely followed by 2/OTR. I will never understand people who rank the shiny turd that is DR3 over this, to me it's as egregious as ranking RE6 over RE1.
People like to hate on DR4 but honestly the cracks we're showing by DR3. Everything after OTR isn't Dead Rising imo. I played DR3 for the first time a week or 2 ago and gave up after 3 hours because everything was so bland. Glad I didn't shell out for an XBONE to play this back in 2013, but then again it was pretty obvious even back then that this had nothing to do with the first two games.
I loved Jackass and Grinder lol. They grew on me. I do think they could have increased the quantity and quality of their levels. They could have had a boss fight too.
Can you imagine if dead rising off the record was originally dead rising two back in the day but before that release imagine if it was that little Chuck story game then you run up to the Boss and I’ll be pretty crazy to put 2 & 2 together
If a Zombie outbreak were ever actually possible, you know, for a fact, there would be some crazy liberal activist group that would actually fight for zombies rights 😂.
My favorite part of dead rising 1 is the disembowel attack works on the special forces at the end. I can only imagine what theyre thinking as a crazed camera man tanks a million bullets, running at them ar breakneck speed, punches through their body armor and then taking a picture of it yelling "FANTASTIC"
with the remaster of the first game coming out soon I really hope they decide to give this game the same treatment with all the content the base game and spinoff had.
I thought Revelations was a great entry to the franchise and loved the Weapon Mod upgrades. I agree with you about Quint and Jack Ass and felt that we could easily remove both of them from the story and make the game better
