Living life on two wheels (sometimes 4 wheels in a subaru). Riding the backroads and taking photographs and videos along the way. Motorcycle Ride Videos are one of the ways we can share the excitement and thrill of motorcycle riding and visiting exciting places. Regardless of your age or sex, riding is for everyone. Live your adventure, challenge yourself, do something awesome.
This channel will talk about motorcycles, photography, videography, moto and car camping, and various other topics. Not only will we show ride videos, but we are going to showcase various destinations, and talk about the equipment I use as well. My set of videos may be a little eclectic, but that would describe me as a person and as a rider/traveler.
My motorcycle videos will focus on the ride, the sound, and the destination. If you are like me, you like to see and hear the motorcycle more than anything else. I will endeavor to do that as much as possible.
Just because a part fails doesn’t take away from the rest of the bike. Yes, the head gasket failed but I never had any trouble with it after that. Still was an overall great bike IMO. I have had mechanical issues on several bikes, it is just part of it.
How is the helmet wind buffing on the PA? Im thinking next year on buying one and keeping my 15 RK I'm wanting something of a different bike and iv looked at different bikes .
For me helmet buffeting is not an issue. The windshield is adjustable so you are able to adjust for conditions. I have been able to eliminate buffeting in both the high and low positions on the seat with adjusting the screen.
Motorcycle manufacturers have to think again abut Bikes SAFETY! one good mistake … the rider is gone… so many fatal accidents due the absence of motorcycles SAFETY features !!!
Sold it and the Scout about 2 months ago. Had to move back to Michigan for work so I didn't want transport two bikes on that tip. Had 37,xxx miles on it when I sold it. Great bike and was still running like a top. Will be starting the hunt for a new bike sometime in February. Riding season doesn't start here for a couple of months yet.
I am recording in 1080p and editing in resolve 17. when I watch on youtube the quality is very bad. I am compressing the video to reduce the size of the file in Handbrake compressing software. can suggest me any ideas?
I would not compress in handbrake at all, I would upload to youtube in full 1080p quality. RU-vid will compress it again so sometimes you are better off to upscale to 4k then let RU-vid do it's compression. Keep your bit rate as high as you can.
@@sanchariBahubali I just want to second that- with any moving footage you have, upscale to 4K as RU-vid then plays it back a lot better. That tip has been a game changer for me
I have a 2012 Road King Classic. 118,000 miles, and has never been touched, besides full oil changes, 6 set of tires, and three sets of brakes. It still runs very strong, doesn't burn a drop of oil, doesn't leak any oil, doesn't puff any smoke, even on cold starts. It's a 103 twin cam with Cruise Control, Throttle by wire, and ABS brakes. I couldn't have asked for a better, more dependable workhorse of a motorcycle. And she's no garage dweller, or trailer queen, I RIDE HER A LOT. My riding season, is only about 5 months a year, If I'm lucky.
Yes, I do still own it. I have not gotten out on it as much recently. Been on the Scout more, but it is still my go to bike for any distance riding. It is a great bike.
You get a big 👎 for the ABS bull sh!t. And 800 bucks for a head gasket repair, Seriously? Should have re-torqued the head bolts earlier. I have a '17 RK. That bike and brand may not be the bike for you.
Yeah, it drives me crazy. Every single ride, about 30 minutes into it, it starts fogging up. On days it is humid, you can't hardly see the numbers after a couple of hours.
I'm Jealous.13 Deg. by me (WI) Bike has been in cryogenic state for 2 mo. already. I'm lucky I guess that I have woodworking projects to keep me busy til spring though. Heading down to Gulf Shores in late Feb. and hoping there is something I can rent to ride on during that time. Taking along some pedal bikes, but not the same. Keep the vids coming. Mike
13 Degrees? Whew, remember those days when I was still in Michigan. Hopefully you have a short winter and can get the bike out early. Ride Safe and Happy New Year!
That "gap" I ride both bike and truck like that and I hate when the people cut in and out of it like you said the gotta adjust for it but it's nice to have
Great camera that takes great video. I used to set it at 1080/60 BUT unless you have a high powered PC, you will not be able to view it and I have an old i7 gaming PC and it is like playing a 1920's movie. Just be realistic on how you set the camera up defending on usage that works for you.
I am BMW rider considering the RK. Love the looks, old school performance. Beats BMW hands down on those factors. But boy, the issues give me pause. All my BMWs -- sports, dual sports and touring - have never given me any of these kinds of issues, even after many more than 25k miles. When you have owned motorcycles that are virtually trouble free with outstanding fit and finish, it's hard pulling the trigger on a brand where riders routinely report blown heads, fairings and floor boards rattling, oil leaks, etc. On the other hand, there is that Harley experience, which may simply push these problems into the rear view mirror....
Having owned a Road King and a BMW, the Road King had an issue with the tank vent. The BMW- cracked fuel pump fittings, cracked rear rotor carrier replaced under recall, failed fuel sensor strip…. Looking to get another Road King. Another BMW? Not so much. JMHO from my experience.
Never had a issue with my 2011 RK. My father in law has a Road Glide and a fat boy, both of them have over 100K. Neither one leak or have had ANY issues. Both are vtwins…
I bought a brand new 2020 Low Rider in September 2019. The speedometer would fog up and I took pictures went to the HD dealer and they order and installed a new one under warranty. Later I traded that bike for a used 2016 Road King and this speedometer is not fogging up. Note: I live in Orlando, Florida!
Great vid, but u live far from work. I have a 2018 lowrider, great looking bike but putting air in the back tire is a pain in the arse. Very difficult.
Man, why are you simply riding a bike... I don't ride on mondays... this is pure baloney.... Dude, just enjoy going out and stay safe... I was hoping for a video on how it is to commute on a Road King... instead we have a guy with a negative mind set...
Riding is the calmest my mind can get. It is peace. I like the sensations of cornering or accelerating, too. Sometimes it even makes me feel like I did as a kid learning to ride.
I have a 2020 Road King. The head buffeting was an issue for me at higher speeds. I put on HD fork mount wind deflectors ($105) and it helped. Didn't stop the air flow, just moved it. Love my road king and do enjoy your videos.
Will be picking up my new RK in the next couple of weeks. I noticed the buffeting on the test ride so I've been doing some research. There are a few videos on RU-vid, several people recommending the chrome Fork-Mount Wind Deflectors (Part # 57400146A) that attach to the forks just below the windshield - Might be worth looking at.
man your Video looks so great. is this still your YI 4K or a GoPro? sorry, I didn't follow, I just saw the Video about your settings recommendation on the YI 4K cuz I still got one and a I just want to test it today in sunny conditions and a little post editing with iMovie.
Hey, thanks for the compliment. I actually used a GoPro 7 for the last couple of videos, but here is a link to another video log on my channel that was shot with the Yi 4K. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VPbA84fUEpw.html. I still think the Yi 4K is a great camera.
backroadsriding thank you for your reply and the Video with the settings. I used it today the first time on a bike after 3 years of Auto Mode just for holidays etc. The results are fantastic. I am absolutely happy with it. I used the Settings which you presented in order to do some Post Processing afterwards. I only have iMovie but it did a great Job, adjustments here and there, unfortunately no sharpness possible but the result is very 'OK' for FHD and 60FPS. Greetings from Germany
I already thought that this must be the Gopro7, the sky looks brillant, the colors. And the price is also a good deal i think, around 270€ in Europe today.
The oil was changed at the service with syn3, but I have used that since day one. It does make since that it would leak a little easier with that. The good thing is it looks like it hasn't done anymore damage. So far so good. Good luck with your 2020. They are beautiful bikes.
Look forward to seeing more of the scout, trying to weigh the scout vs the scout sixty for myself. I’ve ridden the big scout and I loved it, but for the price I wonder if the sixty wouldn’t be too different and keep the wallet happy!
I know the sixty works really well for me but it does have a little less power. That being said it is geared really well. Size wise it is identical. The only difference is the engine size and the 5 vs 6 speed transmission.
