I adore when I see videos of annotated books, they're so precious. and one of my favourite parts is imagining that sometime in the future you are going to unhaul that book, and a stranger is going to be gleeful over all the tidbits inside. I don't annotate myself, mostly because I only read ebooks - I do highlight sometimes and I could add notes but - I'm going to shut up now. thank you for coming to my ted talk.
This is the best explanation of annotating I have watched yet. Thank you for explaining the why you do it and your doodling, tabs, keys the whole thing. I do have a question though, I am new to annotating and like especially for fantasy because there is so much to keep track of. My friend loves to borrow my books and criticized me for annotating telling me it is stupid why not just enjoy the book. I tried explaining it but she was not buying it. I stopped annotating because she borrows my books and doesn’t like them all marked up. I am not that person who would say buy your own then. 😊 Thoughts do I annotate anyway and if she doesn’t like it, then she can buy her own? Yup this turned into Dear Abby. 😂
I meannnnnn…. It’s your book you can do whatever your little heart wants. If you want to annotate because a book is making you feel something then you should queen
It’s soooo helpful and keeps you in the story and then you get to have a whole annotating session afterward and it makes it like two different activities: reading and then annotating
i've only annotated 2 books so far (acotar and acomaf) and it took me forever to reread acomaf because of it lmao my book pretty much has annotations on every page and i dried out a mildliner in it i'm not even kidding in the last part of the book you can barely see it but yes mildliners are absolutely amazing!! i do want to annotate my reread of throne of glass but hopefully i figure out a way that doesn't slow me down as much
i used highlighters and gel pens as usual annotating acotar and acomaf but after watching you annotate i'm thinking just highlighters and a pen might work best for me! thank you so much for this video, it's one i'll definitely come back to when i annotate again
I meannnnn sometimes a book just calls for an entire highlighter and that’s acceptable 😂🩷 there’s been books I just accept it’s going to take a while to read because I’m going to annotate every page
I love your annotations! I love annotating my physical books but I'm still scared to "ruin them" haha and so even though I highlight and do all the fun things, I still use transparent sticky notes 😆I think I will eventually move out of that just because I agree with it all being disruptive and I want it to be easier but you know, baby steps hahaha. Thanks for the video!
It’s a serious priority to read more Grace Draven when the romantasy bug bites again bc she’s so wonderful. I’ll add that mermaid novella to the want to read list!
Romantasyathon was so much fun!! Can’t wait for next year’s Your 5 star to 3 star journey with Book of Azrael was literally me. I still want to try book two though in case the characters click more.
Great vlog ❤. The book of Azriel has been on my tbr for quite a while (hopefully I will get to it soon). I will probably need a bit of a break from fantasy after I finish The sword of Kaigan though (I'm already kind of slumpy).
I've heard Sword of Kaigan is INCREDIBLEEEE! I hope you're loving it but absolutely understand needing a genre switch! lol I'm so there reading horrors at this point
I am loving this video! A bummer with The Book of Azrael because that is on my TBR 😏 I am excited to add Ella Fields to my newfound authors. ✨ Thank you for hosting Romantasyathon [hope you bring it back next year] … now it’s Battleathon!
I'm adding these to my list 🥰📚💞 I'm taking a tiny break from fantasy/romantasy and thinking of reading The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros. Idk I'm just kinda in a reading slump unfortunately...😵
@@toribetweenpages Bestie I'm so relieved I'm not alone!!! It sucks! Ugh 😫 I just cant seem to get out of it...😭😵 Only way I can think of is trying to watch something on youtube or listening to music or just browsing on pinterest (sometimes it intrigues me by looking at recommendations based off art/quotes, etc.) Or just reading a different genre which what I'm looking at but I still have zero desire to pick anything up. Honestly though I've been mentally and physically exhausted which may be the cause of it, idk. I'm hoping to get out of this slump soon 😞
@@aprilskylynn I’m forcing myself to have days where I don’t read a single word, don’t watch booktube and just focus on other things. I’m trying the whole distance makes the heart grow fonder method 😂
My toxic trait is not reading my 5 star predictions either. But a random book I just heard about? Sure! 🙈 Thank god for Battleathon setting us straight 😂
