I am going to order one at the end of the month, please make sure you check my device fan before shipping. I want this mini PC because it has tye most powerful cpu with an Oculink port.
This concept it so cool! I have thought about this so many times and thought why no companies would do such thing.. But, you read my mind! Good luck on this!
Not LPDDR5 No. I own the GEM12. I am so happy and grateful to enjoy it with 96GB of DDR5 SODIMM. Even with only 4800Mhz Crucial, I Primo Cached 48GB of this 96GB that just works best.
@@PERZN4LIFE Funny how they promised thunderbolt as well as oculink, but they gave up on it. That alone is a no-purchase for me. So basically they just inserted a flex psu. Oculink is just a literal pcie connection nothing more.
Got exactly the same under another brand name. Same box and case plastics. Works perfectly next to my work computer for music and web browsing. You need to change the ram speed in bios it's under locked by default not sure why.
GEM12 only has two rear USB2.0 ports. If you need to connect a USB3.0 device behind the GEM12, you can only use a TYPE C hub or docking station. After using GEM12 for about a week, I found that the rear power supply TYPE C port has a serious problem.: The thickness arround TYPE C port is about 1.6mm, and the length of the TYPE C male plug of the GEM12 original power supply is 7mm. However, for most commercially available TYPE C hubs or docking stations, the length of the uplink TYPE C port is 6.5mm. This results in the TYPE C hub or docking station being unable to stably connect to the rear TYPE C female port of GEM12. In addition, the original power supply of GEM12 is only DC, but the DC interface is changed to TYPE C style. Therefore, if the original power supply of GEM12 is connected to the power input port end of the USB HUB or docking station, it will not be able to supply power at all, and you must purchase another one power supply of PD3.1 that can stably provide 120W power to the GEM12. It is difficult to find expansion devices and power supplies that meet both of these requirements。 So currently the rear TYPE C of GEM12 can only be connected to the original power supply. Unless the manufacturer can solve this problem.
A Reddit video made by a Gem 12 owner show that there is a big problem with fan noise, it s like the fan is hitting something, i am so upset i was about to order a GEM 12 with 8845HS CPU, because i like its Oculink clean port and powerful CPU with DDR5 Ram, we need more review on the GEM 12, it s too risky to buy it after seeing this issue on reddit
Our GEM series mini units perform well in testing CPU performance, with very low noise levels and almost no of the issues you claim. If the blogger who posted the video purchased it from our official store, you can contact our customer service team to communicate and resolve the issue.
