If you like hiking and you like the US Southwest, you are in the right spot.
My wife and I love the outdoors. We backpack. We hike. We canyoneer. We give each other a hard time. And I love filming, editing and photography.

Am not sure if it's allowed and/or if it follows etiquette am making a second comment. For the second time even in light of your twisted ankle... To be blessed or given or welcomed to be amidst such overwhelming beauty, you're one lucky son-ofa-bitch!
I just made the commitment to hike and explore more about 1 1/2 years ago. Young people LISTEN TO ME, do it now and not later. I regret putting off my adventures for so long. And for what? Because I was working? Years fly by quick. I waited until I was 55 with achy hips to start. That’s what made me say “what am I waiting for? “ Live while you can. We are not promised tomorrow. I now can’t wait to grab my aussies and head out usually October- April. I can only do short trails about 1-3 miles but we’re living our best life. My only regret I didn’t start years ago. Don’t wait. My fave memories are our sunset hikes together.
I have hiked both these trails often enough. It is very refreshing to see these trails from your camera angle perspective. We are so fortunate to have these outdoor 'stair masters' in the Valley!🙂'
Very cool and human video. I've been mentally and physically beaten down by a trail or two and it is humbling. And frustrating. I did most of my hiking in the Canadian Rockies, but I'm retired now and RV in the desert states. The joy of being able to hike without cold and wet weather gear like in Canada was quickly quashed by realizing that I had to often carry at least that much weight in water. I'm 67 now, and a few year ago section hiked the first 152 miles of the PCT. I have also done a lot of desert hiking where there is no trail to follow, and in some ways that is even more satisfying. My Golden Retriever carries his own pack and food and water for us both for the day.
This one got me to just get the permit and go, got kinda stuck on my list of things I must do and spooked off by recent events and high demand. The video was key to scoring a permit Feb 1 and knowing all the things I needed to do at the start. There are too many people in the campground but at least I knew to expect a crowd, most are friendly and that made it fun. They let groups arrive at the trailhead super early, especially as it gets warm -- no need to worry about early access, they told us to go on in if nobody is there. It seemed most people were leaving from the Caverns at 4AM and drive to the Hilltop. We did the full backpack in and out and the canyon has more shady spots than I expected, only the switchback section is difficult, but please note with this comment: I hike Grand Canyon every year the last 50 years.
Good stuff, I hope to have a chance to visit some of these spots up north. You have a good eye for scenery and framing a view, and adding Tina helps show the scale.
Pretty cool yes I was there years ago. My brother brought me out there way before I even moved here the Tucson and then we took a trip that was one of the spots we stopped at. I would never tell anyone how to get there the less people who know the better.
The sonoran trail off dynamite is a mtb trail first and foremost. Its a single track trail, thats why its narrow compared to most trails.people stay off it
Thank's for this amazing video :) Is there also a permit needed for the Top Rock Arch, the Second Wave, the Alcove & Melody Arch? Or are they free to go?
6/3/2024, just watched this video. Drove Long Canyon a few times in different vehicles, one being a one ton Chevy Van rear wheel drive. But that was back in the early nineties, looks like the road has deteriorated a tad bit. Thanks for your videos. You do an excellent job of filming, editing and soundtrack. Makes me wish I was young again.
We love your channel and watch regularly - such a personal and incredibly alarming situation you both experienced especially for Tina - we are glad you are okay Tina, definitely time to do as you mentioned with health and adjusting the sails so to speak and we wish you the very best in that Thank you for all your incredible and great commentary videos and look forward to seeing many more All the best sincerely
Congratulations to you two. Just came across this jewel of a video. The camera did a good enough job on steepness. Then after arriving at the beach I’m wondering how you arranged a shuttle? Oh no. This is an out and BACK. Double yikes
We have this, and love it! Question, though...there are days when we get no sun, is there a gas generator that can charge this? the gas generator that we have shorts out the Bluetti when trying to charge it.
I did this hike based off your first video! My first official off-trail hike! Beautiful area! I haven't been back since! lol! The hike out got me! Kudos for going again, but I'm done with that hike!
This was a great review. I really appreciate it. I got this from Costco. I haven’t used it yet, but I have watched a lot of reviews I can think of multiple uses for it even with cleaning. Thank you.
