well... you should listen to Steve 30 years ago :) he's a bit worn these days, but back in the 90s he was stellar. Pitty many people were still (some still are!) in the "where is Fish?!?" phase. The most amazing musical experience of my life was 1994 Brave tour concert in Poznań/Poland .... Great Escape pummeled me to the ground... And then that silence... everyone holding their breath...waiting for "Made Again"... that never came... a few thousand people in the audience, and you could hear a pin drop... Once we realised this story is told without happy ending... we just exploded...
Really glad you chose this version of Metal Kingdom. Personally I feel this one has soooo much more power than the mv. And this stage set-up. Who creates three massive-albeit- Game of Thrones style thrones for ONE performance (I am guessing on the one here)? Great job on this one and again super selection on the version to play. Really appreciated it.
The lyrics and are working class people's lyrics, the vibe is as well, the band and singers are all class. Midnight Oil and The Angels were my favs live (rad out more), Chisels 3rd - but the quality of the Chisels music stands the test of time far better.
If you liked the harmonica in Bow River, then check out this live version of a Chisel song called One Long Day. It starts with a "duel" between the lead guitar and the harmonica. Absolutely amazing (IMO): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T7n2Rzm_dHM.html (no video of this that I know of)
Hey Mate, Have you heard of Little River Band (LRB) - 70s/80s band - John Farnham was lead singer for about five years in the 80s...see if you like this song...ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iYgh_Irk46M.html
I recomend watching Delta And Gurrumul (now refered to as Dr G) singing "Bayini". Dr G (RIP) was an Indiginous Australian Musician who was born blind and learned to play the guitar strung for right hand but played left handed. in his young years he was with the Aussie Band "yothu yindi" who had many hits their biggest being "Treaty", well worth checking out.
I notice you have an AC/DC t-shirt on? You need to listen to John singing It’s a Long Way to the Top if you Want to Rock and Roll, an ACDC cover song with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Actually the song is from this same concert and it’s fabulous.
This is the most played song on radio and television in the 20th century and beyond! The Righteous Brothers, Bobby Hatfield ( the high counter tenor voice), Bill Medley ( lower Bass-Baritone). Some of their great songs are: Unchained Melody a Bobby Hatfield solo, (they each did solos on their albums). You're My Soul and Inspiration, You'll Never Walk Alone and Rock and Roll Heaven just to name a few! They are the greatest duo in history!
Please check out earliest vids of Born to Try, No not Me , Not I, Innocent Eyes from her very first album. (I think Delta was 16 when it came out.) Enough feat Gizzle is a more recent release.
Don't get me wrong, Yngwie can certainly play, however he is a 1 trick pony. All his songs are the same. He plays his 50million notes per minute in all his same scales and arpeggios, but with just no feel there. This particular video only came about because Steve Vai did a gig with an orchestra, that was amazing, and he wanted to jump on the band wagon. In the video of Steve in the link here he's playing a song he wrote specifically for playing with an orchestra and his feel and choice of notes on just 1 or 2 notes is way more than Yngwie did in the whole of this track. Please check it out and see . Enjoy ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6CfEaSmdtGU.htmlsi=E9hUpyKnugp03ejW
Hmmm ... appreciate your passion and I can get why you do not like YM but why insult the artist and those that have loved the guy for decades lol (of course Yngwie has loved Yngwie for decades too). To say that all his songs are the same is like me saying how surprised I am that idiots are so willing to self identify. Steve Vai music and guitar playing may bore me but I appreciate him and what he has brought to the music world and understand why folks luv his playing. On the flip side, music can can move one's soul and what lights one fan's world ablaze may turn another's world to sludge. Peace out.
Yes I’ve always said music is subjective and what one person likes may well be different from the next person and to the next person. I was not dissing Y as he’s a great player but just an observation. I love Heaven Tonight and Arpeggios From Hell is just freaky mad, however even so I’d really like him to not fall back on his “safe” stuff all the time.
Lovebites wont let you down but you or anybody, will be let down as you can not find sufficient superlatives to describe their music, playing ability and stage presence.
Australia band 1972 - Chain - Boogie ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_0oJv_ArrrU.html No video - But do not go looking for live version
I believe there is a video link for the full Classic Jack Concert, it goes for over two hours including 2 or 3 encores. Another song I would recommend you react to is The Reason Why, written by Richard Marx and Phil Buckle; l would recommend watching the live performance from the 1994 ARIA(Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards.
This concert is from 1989, which made John 40 at the time; in August 2022, John underwent urge surgery for oral cancer. John had a section of his jaw removed, and reconstructed; a year later he was declared cancer-free, and went through rehabilitation. John is getting better, apparently even singing in the shower; John celebrated his 75th birthday on the 1st of July, and still jokes around with his family and friends. John lost his longtime manager and friend Glenn Wheatley, in February 2022 ; then prior toJohn's surgery, he lost his great friend Olivia Newton John in early August.
This is John's version of The Beatles classic song Help(1965), John sings it as a rock ballad rather than the original pop style; John first sang his version in 1980, in front of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the Sydney Opera House. John Lennon was given a copy of Farnham's version, and Lennon was heard to say "This is how the song was meant to be sung!"; John Lennon had intended to release his own rock ballad of the song, but he was unfortunately killed later that year.
Auto-tune was actually invented in the 80's. Anything before that is real. Look for Bobby Hatfield, the blonde bro, boing Summertime. After you see him do Unchained Melody.
Delta Goodrem is Australias beloved music princess, she's such a lovely genuine person and it really shows in her music. I am really drawn to singers that let you feel their emotions as they sing, and Delta has mastered this. If you want to hear more about her stuggles relearning to sing in 2018 I reccomend the video "Delta Goodrem - My Story Behind ‘Paralyzed’" . if you really have some spare time you can look at "Delta Goodrem - Born To Try (2002 Live on Good Morning Australia)" her live preformence when she first released the song at 18 and then watch "Delta Goodrem - Born To Try (Global Citizen Live)" as she sings the song again at 37(?) years old and you can really feel all the life experiences she has been through as well as how she has grown as an artist.
Five Swords under the Havens My soul is standing still alone, deep in the darkness Tonight's battle, Is to follow with the flashing blades through the Locked up in a dream "door of my soul" In the future, known only by the moon, Swaying sakura blossoms are falling From the tree While its life burns out "If you could only be like a flower With fleeting, beautiful smile, Open the "door of your soul" now Cut down the flames from the full moon To protect everything dear to you" Even with the falling tears turning into and disappearing In the rain bubbles Let's go to the times far beyond. Let's raise the smoke signals. Leave the victory decision to the gods' judgement Engrossed with a broken kaleidoscope, At the time when I could only cry Absorbed in the smeared with blood past, I still want to continue to illuminate The glimmering starry sky and your conquering path. "If you could only be like The radiant, gently embracing sun, Throw away your "soul" and cut open wide the future!" Falling sakura blossoms are touching my hair, Fading and disappearing, the spring wind runs down my cheeks Without turning around let go of my hand... Are you ready to be in full bloom? My promise is, no matter how much it turns crimson red, I'll protect it. Even with the falling tears turning into and disappearing In the rain bubbles Let's go to the times far beyond. Let's raise the smoke signals. Leave the victory decision to the gods' judgement --- Here is my puny attempt of translation. Phrase Under the Heaven has many connotations in Japanese. It may mean Japan, the World, all existing, but also the world I live in. So I think for Sakura-chan "Five Swords under the Heaven" meant something more personal. Again, sorry for the clunky translation. Neither English, nor Japanese is my first language, so all the shortcomings are mine and mine alone.
