Thank you for reacting to my remaster I’m so happy to see you appreciate the quality. Please go drop a like on the original video, I’d appreciate it very much. Really hope that you delve into Cold Chisel some more I think you’ll really enjoy the journey! ❤❤ PS Dave Blight was my inspiration for learning the harmonica!
Does it sound different or is it just this reaction? I've listened to the other video so many times and basically every reaction to it out there. I picked up a difference, maybe between left and right. You know when you're so used to a song and the brain picks up on any little confliction.
@@arconeagain you won’t hear the difference in a reaction as the reactors has downloaded and re uploaded my file- so it’s been compressed twice. You’ll hear the full remaster by watching my version. I think I even did a community post at the time showing all the changes I made to it - but yes it was a full remaster, every instrument was individually EQ’d and remixed.. oh and then the video is also 4K as opposed to 480p 😂 😉
This band saved my sanity as a young teenager, 13/14 yo. I was only 6 months into discovering them when they broke up so never saw them live. But I have tickets to their 50th anniversary tour in November this year. I'm sure my nostalgic tears won't be the only ones ❤
I'm like yourself but finally got to see them on the Yakuza Girls tour after they reformed. I ended up 1 metre away from Mossy at the front of the stage and it was gold. Only Metallica live (multiple times)has topped it. You are going to have a ball at the 50th anniversary tour...i'm very jealous of you.
I wasn't at this concert but I was lucky enough to see them very early on in their career...1976 when I was 14 they gave a free concert at my high school, I live in Adelaide where Jimmy Barnes is from. We weren't told about it, they just set up in our classroom at lunch time...we were all absolutely amazed and spellbound!
Ian Moss is the co-singer to Jimmy in the group. Mossy wrote this song about the time he spent at Bow River up in the tropical north of Australia. The concert stage is actually a boxing ring which this video is from and why it is named the Ringside Concert. Ian Moss gives an impromptu rendition of the American classic, 'Georgia' at the end of the concert. Please check that video out because Mossy is AWESOME ! Ian is an individual artist and a still touring performer in his own right.
Ironically Ian Moss, according to the Cold Chisel official website, has never been to Bow River but his brother Peter used to work there. Crazy right?! ❤😊
@@Dr_KAP Hi Kappy. That's the story that I heard BUT I'm learning that you can't always believe that unless it comes from the person him/herself and even then . . . ?
I’m seeing Cold Chisel in concert in October 2024. I have seen Jimmy Barnes and his brother in law Diesel. Right up front next to the speaker. How I am not deaf, well I just don’t know, but it was awesome. Jimmy is my number 1 artist. And Chisel my favourite band.
Great reaction ! Cold Chisel at their best. Pub rock, party rock, classic Aussie rock at any time. Hunters and collectors is another great Aussie pub rock band.
I’m 67 and saw chisel live in the 70’s. They’ve been collecting fans across the years. They are doing 50th anniversary concerts this year. This concert was from around 2000.
First time I have seen it in 4K and its very impressive . The video was always a bit dark but they have done a great job remastering the footage. Thanks for the reaction to one of the greatest Aussie bands of all time.
Ian Moss the vocalist, guitarist & songwriter has done one of the very best covers of Georgia Really shows his vocal & guitar excellence. I still have their 1979 live album on vinyl.
Your observation about the age spread is right on point. Aside from a lot of Grey heads, there are kids who weren't even born when Chisel were at their best. This is a timeless band because genius will not be denied lol.
I wasn't at that concert but I grew up in Elizabeth, South Australia in the 1960s. My family lived near Jimmy's at one stage and I worked at Defence at Salisbury when Don worked there, I'm a few weeks older than Mossy and recently returned to NZ after seeing him performing in the Maldives (he and Jimmy performed there in 2022 and it was like being a Chisel gig but with just 200 people in the audience). I'm heading back to Australia in Oct and November to attend Chisel concerts in Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide (5 concerts) and will be seeing the guys in NZ in January 2025. My all time favourite band - their songs are timeless!
Mossy is also a legend in this country, great singer and guitarist. I’ve seen them a few times in my younger years, Jimmy used to swig straight vodka from the bottle on stage back then. This is my favourite of theirs and it was never a single.
Cold Chisel formed in South Australia in 1973 , Jimmy Barnes the lead singer was just about to turn 17 ,the guitar singer is Ian Moss. Cold Chisel broke up at Christmas 1983 and reformed 15 years later in 1998 ,Both Jimmy and Ian had solo hits in that period , The 50th anniversary or the Big Five 0 concerts start in October this year .
Greatest Aussie band of all time, yes over ACCA DACCA (AC/DC, we Aussie's call them ACCA DACCA) & INXS, our two biggest musical exports. The Americans weren't interested in Chisel, they wanted Chisel to become Amercanised & drop our own music genre, Aussie Pub Rock. Chisel told the to fukk off, a very typical Aussie response. So we Aussie's were spoilt while the rest of the world missed out, like about 99% of our Aussie music industry missed out. Also i was at this concert as a 22 year with a bunch of old school mates. We learnt Chisel thru our parents & i keep passing through the generations. I'm not ashamed to say i cried thru the whole concert as i was so stoked about actually being there live witnessing our legends
Lots of more gentle songs that are amazing to listen to "Saturday Night" by Cold chisel is a great one. Also if you want to ever see the other end of Jimmy Barnes vocal skills, a great song is "Fire And Rain" that he did a duet with the stunningly gorgeous and just as talented Marcia Hines. Live in a Studio Interview. It is very stripped back and shocking to hear for most that don't realise just how talented Jimmy really is.
Honestly, If you were raised in Australia in the last 30 years.. you would have heard Chisel in the womb. Pure and simple. So all ages dig Chisel!! And rightly so!
bro at the end of this same concert they play a song called Astrid (goodbye) it is a BANGER of a song and Jimmys vocals are amazing in this one check it out
The lyrics and are working class people's lyrics, the vibe is as well, the band and singers are all class. Midnight Oil and The Angels were my favs live (rad out more), Chisels 3rd - but the quality of the Chisels music stands the test of time far better.
Chisel was one of many great bands kicking around at the time. I think you are going to really like The Angels and Midnight Oil. Here are two songs to get you started. 'Take a long Line' - The Angels - live ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uGUYUeY5eO8.html 'Power and the Passion' - Midnight Oil ( live Oils on Water) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gqa1vWiqxEo.html
Yeah I'd like to know who the jumping lady is. Previous reactors remarked on her as being a bit of an alright. I'd also like to know who the blonde girl is in When The War Is Over. Like, how old are they and where are now? I just subscribed.
If you liked the harmonica in Bow River, then check out this live version of a Chisel song called One Long Day. It starts with a "duel" between the lead guitar and the harmonica. Absolutely amazing (IMO): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T7n2Rzm_dHM.html (no video of this that I know of)
