Innate talent. He was a joy to watch and in his prime one the world's best attacking runners. Often overlooked is his great kicking ability especially from distance.
the Dutch team is something to be proud of nowadays, but ooh if SA players would be eligible a couple of more generations back. SA has produced some Tier 1 players over the last few decades. Keep it up lads, no matter where they end up playing!! something to be proud of!
I've played allot of rugby and I'm seeing a weakness in the fullback position which is the last line of defense. I think coaches should look at placing quick centre's at fullback rather than former wingers, since a quick center is a better defender than a wing.
That is true of the vast majority of young wingers. Stockdale would be a prime example. Great in attack but in defense ...woeful. LRZ is another example, it is why he didn't get a Lion's start. Defensive development for wingers tends to be the last skill they hone, it is rare to find a good defensive winger right out of the gate.
Great player, always a delight to watch, only one setting with George, full throttle, never holds back. Couldn't believe it when Edinburgh didn't want him, our gain. If there is a criticism it is his line out through, when he is off, he is off, but with gall in hand he is way ahead of his peers.
i love this video. watched it at least a couple of times now, and will likely come back to it again in a year or two. the music and editing take it up to another level.
well, thats perfect for a 9 then? you don't need a high top speed when you are mostly just sniping around the rucks and trying to find space. much more vital for a winger who is expected to run in tries from distance.
