Watching this video again and damn. I didn’t really pay attention last time but I am now and WTF! I knew he did very bad last time but fuck. Him using prostitutes, taking pictures of women in vulnerable positions, using his power to ensure he wasn’t caught. This dude’s a literal menace to society
Very disappointed in this... I feel like I've been strung along by RTD (mainly) and Disney. All glitz and glam, but no substance. Not everything has to be the GOAT, but this has been so lazy and unfulfilling. But, who knows, maybe RTD will get his act together...Maybe.
RTD does it all the time he hypes his own work up and sadly rarely do the finales meet the hype. Many wont agree but I truly believe we just saw the biggest reset button pressed in the history of the show all by taking God Dog for a walk in the Vortex. All the planets all the characters lost can be brought back "oh its the effect of what happened" The Doctor stated all the planets he stepped foot on. RTD knows a lot of the Chibnall ideas if reversed people would cheer. You know that's how the master is coming back. Door open for Riversong and gallifrey .
I am right there with you man. I felt really sad after it as well. RTD hates the fans almost as much as he hates himself... We should all just be happy we aren't him. I wish i could figure out where all that hate comes from.
Well the Doctor hadnt done much since the bigeneration until the empire of death and even that wasn’t an interesting solution. But I loved these night gallery black mirror inside number 9 stories as intellectually stimulating like Boom, 73 yards and Dot and Bubble
I really enjoy watching The Pilot episode. Although it wasn't suitable for broadcasting, I do think that some of the scenes should have been kept for the final version that did such as some of the mistakes made by the cast, such as Susan making a fumble when talking about her favourite band. For me this makes Susan feel more like a real person, as it's the kind of thing a school aged kid would do when excited about something...
I generally liked the finale, not as much as the previous episode though. Also, not disappointed in the reveal about Ruby's parentage but there are two things that could have been better. 1 - Sutekh just wasn't as interesting a villain as the Toymaker or Meastro. I had also hoped for a mention of how or if they were all connected. 2 - With the Mrs Flood outro to close the episode and Russell's 1 min video teasing the Christmas special this really doesnt feel like a season finale but more like the second episode in a three part series, even though Ruby and the Doctor did have an emotional goodbye. Overall though, great acting by everyone - Mel was a particular standout here that i hadn't anticipated. Also, hopefully we wont need another cgi villain next time as even though Who is about time traveling the galaxy, it always does best when serving as a mirror to humanity's faults and that's best served with humans acting opposite one another.
The interesting thing is as soon as the finale ended, RTD in a video said that Ruby's story has not ended. Ruby is back in the next series, and that there is more to her story than what we have already seen. Which to me, is just boring. I agree, totally deflated, very flat finale. Especially considering the audience ratings aren't exactly thrilling, 2 million overnight is the average, with consolidated around 4 million at best. RTD needed to do better.
RTD is the new Rian Johnson. Nonsensical lore busting garbage from start to finish. If Timeless Child was part one, this is part two of Doctor Who being Disney Star Warsed
In this case, I think he wishes he was Rian Johnson. While The Last Jedi picked up and ran with its themes to make one of the best Star Wars films, RTD took the JJ approach and started mysteries for engagement and didn't think about how he'd resolve them satisfactorily.

RTD just recycling old ideas. I'm honestly shocked that people didn't see this coming, and this is the reason why I have always been opposed to his return. Oh well!
I get the impression after the second episode that showing it as one 'story' on a cinema screen is a big mistake. Because the second part is not *really* about Sutekh at all; it can't be, because his threat in 1975 was conceptual. It was what he *would* do rather than what he *did* do. That's what makes him work as a villain, but it also means that once he gets free and it's game over, there's nothing else to him as a character. It also means a head-to-head confrontation that takes up a good chunk of the runtime is impossible. So RTD had to find another angle; refocusing the second part and making it more intimate and personal while he thinks of a solution to a crisis that has already happened makes narrative sense, and using Sutekh's own power and hubris against him to undo what he accomplished makes thematic sense. So you end up with two very good disparate episodes, but you don't end up with a good complete story to be watched all at once.
