George and Alex, aka The Thamesmen cant be trusted on their main channel to follow subscribers advice properly and therefore have been banished to this channel- The Hill of Bad choices.
Stick around and you may find something interesting or you may not!
Saw these blokes at the Bondi Lifesavers - we were right up the front, my eardrums got blown out, I swear and when Peter Garrett started his Frankenstein dance i got covered from head to foot in HIS sweat - hubby was such a huge fan he told me not to wipe it off 😂😂😂
Two gents. Casey Spooner and Warren Fischer. It was a totally manufactured space and time created by a huge group of talented people. I went to one of their shows back then and it was mf ace. A glitz, glam, show-stopping fever dream! We were all dressed up to the 9s. Shit tons of makeup and electric fantasy. Everyone level and on the same team, wearing their best. So fn rad. Happy to have been there. Love watching you discover them now even more!!
Having been a fan of Prince for 40+ years, I have spent a lifetime trying to help my friends appreciate just how good he is. It's a bit too little, too late but it's good to know that now he is being given the respect that he earned while he was with us.
Some songs sound better in the studio than live, and vice-versa. This is one of them. That said, It comes down to the proficiency and budget of the recording equipment used at any concert. I don't think they blew the budget on this one. Have a listen to the album track, it's a great song with a great (of its time) sound. I've seen live The Clash, Sex Pistols, AC/DC etc - nothing has even come close to Midnight Oil live. You have the Royal House of Windsor, we've got our rock royalty, and The Oils are front and centre.
You guys should see his bands performance of this song at the Grand Ole Opry. His solo is phenomenal on that one. Every band member is hitting on all 8 cylinders. Incredible!
Great video as always lads, love the Quo and don't forget the Quo were very popular in the whole of the UK not just England, And they've sold more records than the Who, very under rated band imho 👍
I have chosen to have a second listen to this. Why? I hear you ask. Because You guys seem to be the only people reacting to it. Which seems a shame to me. 'cos it is good. Once again I say. Keep Reacting!
Used to try and catch the David Sanborn show as often as possible and I still remember his performance, because it had me up and out of my chair after the first 30 seconds. Just unbelievable, epic performance. RIP Jeff.
I was lucky enough to see them twice on the last tour... this song was a killer. It's also quite depressing. I also got to see them at the "One for the Planet" and "One for the Road" concerts. They'll never be replaced.
The best I've ever heard asspecialy for someone who has been through the drug world and has got out of it successfully, I only wish I had two hands and that's what I would do to put all energy into to try to sort my life out maybe iam past it now as I'm 61 years but I will try
Love this - takes me back to my late-80s Northampton days when I saw Spacemen 3 several times live. Bloody awesome. Also, it's funny that I'm sitting here with my headphones on, nodding my head along with you two. Coolio.
Jeff Healey was pure magic. That was him 100% playing and singing. He got his first guitar about age 3 and it didn't feel comfortable to him so he put it on his lap. In a miracle was born. Great show. Don't underestimate these older musicians. They rocked us years ago and they are still rockin us
My mate and I were fishing at the opera house that day we heard the warm up. Left our rods and nicked a row boat that was tied up at the dock 🤣 ended up at THE BEST GIG I EVER SAW . 😎🇦🇺👍 Put the boat back and the rods were still there… Sadly wouldn’t be today . But saw them on the last tour too still brilliant. Deep dive early oils you won’t regret it.
Had a chance to see Asteroid #4....and yes they were incredible! Spacemen 3 I never saw them. Tho seen Spectrum and few times, seen Sonic and Panda together and Spiritualized loads! This track is beyond epic....Spacemen 3 as well as LOOP are main influences on me and music!! Top post, cheers boys!!
The song reflects on the challenges of finding romantic fulfillment and the emotional toll it can take on an individual. Quo, just like to have fun and publicly portray the lighter side of life. I, personally could not agree more with that. Response to video only.
Check out Read About It!! So good love the earlier stuff! I was at this one The Sydney Opera house at New Year! We convicts got the better part of the deal!
Just going thru your "back catalogue" here... y'all should check out Swell - Forget About Jesus. From their album "41": "In the 1994 reader's poll it was a draw between Portishead's first Dummy and Nirvana's last Unplugged. Both of those albums gave me the chills when they came out. But somehow they didn't stand the slightest chance against the chef-d'œuvre of one of the most original eclectic bands of the 90's." 'nuff said, trust me. (altho "Forget..." isn't my fave track, it's possibly the best introduction to their sound; that entire album is a masterpiece, in the opinion of many)
I was 16 years old when I watched the band at the Apollo Glasgow in 1976 I can only say it was like a brick hitting me in the face, the whole place erupted and the balcony was moving up and down visibly, I never missed a concert locally for the next 40 years, the material you have now discovered will be never-ending :)
@@TheThamesmenToo I was talking about the actual recording. You said it sounded empty, it was a poor recording. During the drum solo different drums sounded the same. Have seen them live many times long ago. Anyway enjoy the way you guys go about it with your reactions 👍
Love them (and you guys) but the live version that makes this one look tame is 'TIBET" Benefit 1999 Live. It is THE best, they are on Fire and Ian is Jim Morrison incarnate. Please look it up!
