The earthworm casting tea has a slight smell. Vitality has no odor. You can reach out to us on our website for support. I'd love to see a photo and we can exchange it for you if you purchased the wrong item! Thank you!
I've been using the stuff you mentioned along with canna Coco coir except worm tea. I've noticed the bottom sweet basil leaves on the very end of the tip turning darkish and I don't know why yet. The top leaves bend upward in the middle vein, instead of curling. It's about 3 inches or so tall from my plant now. The newer leaves seem to be not as big as the bottom ones that have the tip turning darkish. Are there any reasons why I see that happening?
Can you send us a photo thru our website? It sounds like possibly over watering. Would need to ask more info about your growing climate and conditions. Shoot us a message under the contact us page! - Mindy
Not daily- you can apply vitality at diluted rates every 1-2 weeks or less often depending on the health of your plant. Using vitality is an easy way to refresh with earthworm casting without having to disturb plants. Vitality will work faster than regular castings- giving you big lush leaves and better pest resistance.
@@mlramos3064 Yeah, thought I would need vatility to keep feeding the plant, aside from refreshing the worm castings. I figured Coco coir washes away nutrients, but that wouldn't make sense since it does have one amendment which is the worm castings vermiterra. I wish I could show you the plant. I'm trying to be really careful not to over water or let it get too dry. What kind of steps I would need to follow if I can only water it with vatility every one or two weeks? I use tap water to dilute it.
@VermisterraEarthwormCastings thank you. Which of your products would you recommend for potted tropical fruit trees like mangoes, citrus, avocados, guavas etc?
@@geriannroth449 Ideally you use both together. If you choose one: here's how- If your pots have been fertilized in the past, use VermisTerra Tea every 14 days to help release salts and other trapped nutrients. It will build up the soil microbe population to enhance root, plant, and soil function. If you haven't fertilized in a while, and the soil has little organic matter and nutrients, you want to add the Vitality (concentrate liquid) regularly when watering, or earthworm castings (top dress) seasonally, to build soil structure and provide minerals, elements and bioavailable multivitamins. It is more concentrate and beneficial than compost. There are plant hormones so You will see plants grow more leaves, fruit, and the fruit will have better taste thanks to the trace minerals.
I love these Hydro Spiral tubes in my big pots, after setting them up I have a moist pot with no water coming out the bottom and no leaching of nutrients. what a water saver ,thank you.
I'm confused about the us with a pot. Doesn't any water come out the bottom? If I pour a gallon of water into a Hydro Spiral tube in under a minute, will it slowly seep out the edges and avoid draining out the bottom, or will most of it go out the bottom? Also do I have to combine it with a slow drip watering to avoid the quick drain?
@@jeffmeyers3837Buddy had an irrigation set up that wasted water to runoff and evaporation. For hydrospirals, you want to utilize the slow drip emitters included. These will allow water to seep down and then gradually absorb back up to the surface- it can permeate large containers/raised beds. One tube can reach up to 3-5 for out depending how long you run the system. The tube comes with 1 GPH slow emitters which we recommend. You can switch it out to whatever suits your purpose. Pouring a gallon straight into the tube will lead to runoff- the pictured watering with a can was fertilizing with VermisTerra tea straight into the tube. Hope that helps clarify your question.
@jeffmeyers3837 Great question. If you pour a gallon of water into the spiral, yes, it will come out the bottom after it works it's way through the soil. It works best with a drip system using a 5 GPH emitter with my 30 gallon pot . Once I found the happy spot that being how long the irrigation is on and the size of the emitter I'm using, the entire pot is Moist and no water is leaving the pot saving water. I love how they work. I hope this helps
The worm castings and Vitality are a multivitamin with elements which build a strong foundation and soil structure. Worm tea is made goes hand in hand with it- it is a soil enhancer, bio-stimulant that helps renew tired soil, make nutrients, and release salt and pH problems. Made from castings, kelp, molasses and much more, it is chock full of plant probiotics and enzymes to perk up your plants. It's very important for the maintenance of healthy soil.
The hydrospiral has the added benefit of mesh for lots of oxygen to increase root mass. More oxygen also means the biologics from worm tea activate, which can condition, fix soil and help release and absorb locked nutrients. We certainly hope you'll give it a try!
Hello, yes this works very well with worm castings. The benefits of worm castings compound with time- they're a great foundation. This liquid form of worm castings makes it easy to continue feeding while watering, without needing to dig up or mix the soil- You won't have to disturb the roots. Vitality is a super fine worm casting concentrate, so you can use it to feed the soil when planting, to encourage new growth, and to reduce pests. You can use 1-2 oz per gallon of water every 2-4 weeks. Using more won't ever burn your plants.
Yes you can reuse it, or feed it to any plant. It is made from superfine concentrate, earthworm castings which do not burn plants, contain nutrients, elements, minerals, plant hormones and plant probiotics in a gentle and absorbable form.
Alex's two favorite soil amendments are worm tea and seaweed extract- at this meeting he learned that VermisTerra tea already has seaweed extract in it. He was pleasantly surprised!

Yes earthworm castings and coco coir are excellent for any plant- but especially cannabis which grow very similarly to tomato and cucumbers. We've had multiple commercial greenhouses growing tomatoes and cucumbers use our products for increase plant growth, harvest weight, more blooms, and less disease complications. The key is that our products are bioavailable, and they balance out any soil issues so that nutrients, minerals, are available = less stress = plant can focus on growing! I will add that video idea to our list!
The Vitality is not brewed, it is pure worm castings, cured. There are no raw materials or compost in it- so it does not go anaerobic. Our earthworm casting tea is higher in microbe life like beneficial bacteria and fungi. We have a proprietary method that stabilizes the microbes so they go dormant until there is a food source (water, soil). Our products are certified organic, lab tested, and used by commercial farms and master gardeners across the country and internationally too. Thanks for your interest!
@@VermisterraEarthwormCastings I understand now If a person makes a compost tea with just water and compost, it is considered an “Extract”, “Dormant Tea” or “Liquid Biological Amendment”. nearly all of the microorganisms in compost are extracted (dislodged) from the actual compost particles in one to two hours, due to the vigorous action of the brwing process the organisms are extracted into the liquid, because there are no new food resources, they remain relatively dormant, thus requiring very little oxygen. This is the reason for the ability to be stored for prolonged periods. Is this correct I?
hello the Vitality is not brewed, it is pure worm castings, cured and stable. There are no raw materials or compost in it- so it does not go anaerobic.
Hi there, it's not necessarily a problem- but someone growing flowers may not like to see their For example: roses or orchids dusty. It can rinse off, but might stay in the crevices.
Hi, the worm castings you can apply once per season (or more). The earthworm casting tea is best used consistently- every 2 weeks. Let us know how that works for you!
The Vitality is pure earthworm castings concentrate. It is like mulivitamins that very absorbable and works quickly because the particles are nano sized. The VermisTerra Earthworm Tea is brewed into a ferment- it has many organic soil amendments like molasses, kelp and more to bloom hundreds of thousands of beneficial microbes and fungi to condition you soil and help with digestion, and absorption. It is like a probiotic that protects the plant. It's best to use the VermisTerra Tea with our Castings or Vitality.
Thank you! I am new to learning about Vitality. This was a great overview! I can’t wait to try it. I just bought my first bottle. I have already used Vermisterra worm castings mixed with Coco coir to start new seeds last year with great success. Thanks again!
Hi Alan, you would give the tree less water since it's not lost to runoff, evaporation. The key is a slow drip system of several hours at 1-3 GPH (depends on your soil type, climate). You can also test it and dig a hole outside the drip line to check how long it takes to soak that far. For your mulberry tree in a container, email us (thru the website) about the height of the box. One tube would be enough for that young tree. The tube is more to get water past layers of silt and clay blocking deep water penetration. You might benefit more from worm castings and our worm tea to help release any salt build up, build soil life, and increase fertility. I am confident those two products will help your tree produce.
@@VermisterraEarthwormCastings good idea about a test dig! I live in the mojave desert. When I get your tubes, I'd like to put one on each side. The leaves are shriveling. I'm just concerned about overwatering. The fruitless mulberry has a pot ball of 19 inch high by 14 inch. Mixed the native desert with admend garden soil. 50/50. Thank u for the feedback :)
