Thank You for this video. My Pioneer 1000-5 has been back to the dealer (3) times because shifting from turf mode to 2wd lock would not work, after playing with the shifter sometime it would shift to 2wd lock, but the indicator display in the cluster would not change. Dealer told me all the Pioneer 1000-5 were like this and refused to adjust the cables anymore. The dealer was clueless on how to do the adjustment. After watching this video (2) times I adjusted the cables and it worked great. The indicator in the cluster is working and displays all driving modes. No more loud slams / bangs from the rear differential. Took 45 minutes to fix. Good video and easy to fix the problem.

I'm so glad i dont have a P1k-5, always removing those floorboard covers to service/clean it would drive me to drinking, which i do anyway. My P1k-3 has all platic covers removed, easy to clean and service, runs cooler, gives me more time to drink beer.
Just found out I have the same problem. I'm planning to install the mechnical risers, but was wondering, where does the water in the Cleanout compartment drains to? Thanks. Great video.
It is supposed to drain overboard. Starting at 0:43 in the video, the small hole closest to the camera is the overboard discharge. Any water that pools up in this tray should go out of this drain. If the entire tray is not sealed very well, water will also drip down into the bilge.
@@H2THAL thanks. I knew about that drain hole, but was wondering where is the exit hole (overboard)? In older boats it used to be above the starboard pump. Cheers.
It could be. You could also be in "2wd" mode even if your lever is in turf. 2wd mode locks the rear wheels together, which when turning on hard surfaces causes scrubbing. This may be wearing our your tires early. have you checked your tire rotation and made adjustments as seen in the video?
@H2THAL Thank you for explaining what each cable goes to. I've got the 2wd lock and turf mode to work but it's not going into 4wd. I do see it go into 4wd from time to time. Can you do a video on that adjustment? Thanks again!
@@H2THAL We are going to South Dakota and wanted to mount an iPad on the dash. Do you think velcro will hold up on rough trails? If so, I will just use your idea here rather than spend $100 on expensive mounts.
It will hold if it is the correct velcro. Don't get the standard velcro, get "dual lock" velcro. Standard velcro is almost a fabric, dual lock is heavy duty plastic velcro. Something like item number 597111 from lowes.
I live in northern NH. If I throw a watermelon into the trees next to me house, will this modification help scare the shit out of my buddy? He scares pretty easy, so I think I can leave it in factory settings.
Only if said buddy doesn’t know you threw said watermelon, and also in that moment truly believed el chupacabra was about to bust out of the bushes and drink his blood.
I paid about $100 for this tree at lowes. I saved money with being able to bring it home myself, plant and landscape it myself, etc. I bought some palm feed for it for about $20 at lowes and the feed lasted about 2 years. I have since moved from the house so I don't know how much it has grown or how it is doing.
@@H2THAL Wow! That is a great price for a tree that is about 6 or 7 feet tall i assume... I was looking into buying one for my house but the internet was saying it costed anywhere from 600 to 2000 dollars 😅
We looked at buying a large, mature palm tree, but in the end decided against it. The one we liked was about $10k installed. We decided with the cheaper option!!!
I am in the Hampton Roads area. That part of the video was filmed on the ICW. I was headed West just past the North Landing bridge and headed toward the Great Bridge Lock.
