This video was created to show why your Yamaha jet boat's bilge may be filling with water. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for sharing that. I own a 2017 AR240 and one major observation I’ve made is that rpm plays a role here in exactly what you’ve shown. On rough days when I’m out bashing through waves I would expect to have more water in the bilge, and it’s actually the opposite. On rough days I can only give it light throttle and that seems to make a big difference on the amount of water coming in. I pull the plug and nothing comes out. Go out on a calm day full throttle, come in , pull the plug and I get a ton of water.

Agree 100%. More throttle means more pressure which means water pushing past the seals of the clean out plugs.

You in the Hampton Roads area? and is that the great Dismal Swamp you were riding through at the end of the Video?

I am in the Hampton Roads area. That part of the video was filmed on the ICW. I was headed West just past the North Landing bridge and headed toward the Great Bridge Lock.

Just found out I have the same problem. I'm planning to install the mechnical risers, but was wondering, where does the water in the Cleanout compartment drains to? Thanks. Great video.

It is supposed to drain overboard. Starting at 0:43 in the video, the small hole closest to the camera is the overboard discharge. Any water that pools up in this tray should go out of this drain. If the entire tray is not sealed very well, water will also drip down into the bilge.

@@H2THAL thanks. I knew about that drain hole, but was wondering where is the exit hole (overboard)? In older boats it used to be above the starboard pump. Cheers.

You are correct. It is straight down. Slightly forward and to the left of the STBD pump.

@@H2THAL thanks. I'll look that up.

I'm confused.Should there be no water att all in the clean out ports because my 2022 AR250 has the same amount of water as this video and its my fist time out

I think water is going to get in there past the clean out ports. I doubt you can get them sealed up enough to completely stop the water from coming past. The mechanical access port was not sealed very well on my 2020. I added the jetboatpilot riser and took apart/resealed the entire area. Now, the water still comes in via the clean out ports, but it drains out through the drain hole, and does not leak into the exhaust area.

@@H2THALwhere does the water in the area drains to? I don't have my boat closed to me right now. Thanks.

Try Vaseline on the seals.
