Some good upgrades and ideas. I have 2 1000's, one 3 seater and one 5 seater. Dirt'N'Diiesel had a video about the doors rattling. He also used the new bushings and put tape on the metal latches which seemed to work. I too tried the tape on the metal latch and it worked well but instead of new bushings I was cheap and put one round of electrical tape on the bushings. So far it's working well and I saved $45. Keep the pioneer vids coming...Thanks.

It sure looks sweet set up like that. I'm thinking very hard about getting one of these for the versatility of it. How is the power and handling in rough enviroments? I am assuming it would plow well being a 1,000.

I would like to know the capacity of the alternator / electrical system. Do you know how many amps the power generator is capable of?

I did the same thing with the paint marker. I have the same windshield and do not care for it, at 5' 7" tall I am always looking through it when I am on the tight trails in the woods. The boat cushion is a great idea for the passenger seats.

I agree on the windshield. 50% of the time I ride I am looking through the small opening between the bottom and top half! If I were to go back in time, I would have purchased the SATV flip up windshield.

Nice video with detailed explanations! Per 28x10x14 tires, no rubbing without lift or offset A-arm? Your FOX suspension is stock height, correct?

No rub on my machine. I do not have aftermarket a arms or a lift. Stock ride height. My fox suspension is stock with the preload set to 1 1/2” rear 1” front.

Where do you put your spare when on the trails? I was thinking about ordering the JEI extender with the spare mount, but wasn’t sure if it was worth carrying a spare and the expense of the tire or just take tools to repair a flat

For now, when we go riding on trails I just throw the spare in the back of the truck and we go with a buddy, so if something happened my buddy could take me to the truck. I am looking at getting the JEI spare mount for longer trails/trails when I am alone. We specifically bought the JEI with the intention of getting the spare mount at a later time, just haven't done it yet!

Great video with nice ideas that don't cost a fortune. I noticed the velcro strips on your dash. Do you attach a pad to it and if so how does it work?

@@H2THAL We are going to South Dakota and wanted to mount an iPad on the dash. Do you think velcro will hold up on rough trails? If so, I will just use your idea here rather than spend $100 on expensive mounts.

It will hold if it is the correct velcro. Don't get the standard velcro, get "dual lock" velcro. Standard velcro is almost a fabric, dual lock is heavy duty plastic velcro. Something like item number 597111 from lowes.

Why did you change the shocks, ease of adjustment?

I wanted a better ride quality, while sticking with “OEM” fitment. There are quite a few manufacturers out there including Fox, Walker Evans, Elka. All have many price points and pros and cons. I went with Fox for the price point and 3 level adjustability. I am happy with the purchase.

Does the rear seats convert into the full bucket?

When the rear seats are down it can be used as a full dump bed, much like the 1000-3.

What is the height of the pioneer with the new wheels and tires? They look great but wanted to fit inside my trailer.

The tallest point on mine is 78 3/4". This is with the Honda OEM roof, 28" tires, and the LE shocks with about 1 1/2" front and 2" rear pre-load.

@@H2THAL ok I got ya..... I ment the body and not the start of the threads.... I just got my fox shocks in today and can't wait to get em on....... I ended up getting the same machine as you just a 2021 model and this video you uploaded is what sold me on the machine!!! We pretty much have twins except for the tires and wheels... I went with HD rims and carnivore tires.... I wanted terabytes but they are backorder WAY out..... thanks bud

The ned extender is hinged. So you rotate in the bed extender, and then close the tailgate.

How do those tires hold up on pavement?

I only have 123 miles on the tires, therefore I do not have any long term opinions. They are MUCH quieter than the stock bighorns on pavement. They corner better as well. Going from a 4ply to an 8ply tire, the sidewalls are stiffer, so they don't fold over as much in turns. I am completely satisfied as of now,

@@H2THAL that’s amazing you got one new for that cheap in my area in Greenville Texas they wanted 28,000$ for a 2022 Honda pionner 1000-5 deluxe model with only a Windsheld and roof added . So I bought a 2016 deluxe used with 4500 miles and 495 hours for $14,250 cash it came with the roof and windshield allready added.
