I would have been shouting! I'm shouting now! Lol. I absolutely love Jennifer Holiday and Cynthia Erivo! This performance would have had me in tears in full praise.
They prayed out the show. That's how you do it! With this show in particular which is basically one long church service disguised as a musical, hence the opening number.
I’m shedding tears watching this beautiful finale. If I was there in that theatre, I would have no shame loudly saying, “Hallelujah Queen!” (For Cynthia Erivo). Then when Cynthia and the other Broadway queen of mine, Jennifer Holiday, doing their gospel powerhouse vocals together, I’d shout perhaps repeatedly, “Ameeeeeeeeeeen Sisters!”, a line from Godspell y’all. 😊 I’m looking forward to see the film adaption of this beautiful musical.
I just saw this last night down in Fort Lauderdale Florida. It was an awesome show. There's an older woman name Delores Roberson who does Tina Turner impersonations. She also sounds like Tina and she looks more like Tina looks today older and heavier. It would be nice if they could put her in that show at the end showing Tina as she is today.
I made a trip by myself from NC to NYC at 6 months pregnant to see this show. My first flight was canceled so I had to go 2 days earlier and pay for 2 more nights of hotels to make it happen. Slept in a hostel with 5 other women in a room bc it was the cheapest option. All of it was worth it to see this cast undoubtedly put on the best show I've ever seen. Alex Brightman is a legend and I'm so happy I got to go before my son was born. I would never be able to make that trip happen now and I would've missed this show/cast entirely if I waited. I'm glad I got to see this show when I could, it's a core memory in my brain now. I had so much fun, it was worth dragging around luggage in NYC all day before I could check into my hotel to get to have this experience. Thank you guys, love you guys! 🖤🤍🖤🤍
this was the first show i ever saw live on broadway. alex had covid that week so i didn’t get to see him, but it was still great. everyone did fantastic
@@YourLocal._.TheatreKid I went on may 24th, the first night of my high school’s New York trip. We’re from North Carolina, so not everybody ended up going though. It was actually the first time I had ever been to New York!
Thank you so much for making me and a lot of others experience life ,death fun, and laughter you are my favorite broadway show and I'm so sad it's coming to an end. But I loved every minute of it!💚💚💚
