Research shows: "Dried figs, dried apricots, and raisins resulted in stable water kefir fermentation. Water kefir fermentation with dried apricots resulted in the highest pH and water kefir grain growth, whereas that with raisins resulted in the lowest pH and water kefir grain growth. "

The thing with the "no metal in ferments" is based upon people just things they hear. Maybe it's true, but 99% of people that say it don't know what they are talking about.

i have a very interesting observation, I found in this video Sandor Katz sitll looked very good, good skin and much younger than his age, but his recent videos he is looking very old and not so fine, I bet the reason is he trusted covid 19 vaccine and he got some ,that is why right now he looks not so good.

Thank you for the video and idea. If I’m understanding your method correctly, based on other posts you’ve made, you add 1/4 cup sugar to the first batch and then no sugar on batch 2 and 3, then again 1/4 cup sugar on batch 4 then repeat?

I have watched many videos on water kefir; this is one of the best ones. Thank you for being so thorough. For those placing the kefir in the pressure tight bottles, don't forget to burp them regularly, or else you have an explosion of kefir all over your kitchen...that happened to me.

I'm going to take a leap of faith and try this with red onions. I had a friend email me and send a picture of his garden with about 5 rows 50 ft long of red onions. Depending on how many I get, I will also dehydrate some and can some. Love my onion soup. These pickled onions would make an interesting addition to onion soup I think.

Try this mix water and wine 50/50 solution is screw lid on tightly shake well to get oxygen in the liquid. The oxygen will activate the acetobacters. Over 20 the next few months alcohol will be converted to acetic acid. No mother needed

@@BrakesBake the same for me, i took a small taste and its mildly sweet. I have done the new water, sugar and a tiny bit of molasses 3 times now and waited 48 to 72 hours for each batch. I’m in Florida and I know its hot here, not sure if that is having an affect but I really want this to work lol

Szia!
