Salvatore Ferragamo 👣🤌🏻 for the precision in making shoes for every foot type and studying anatomy to make shoes fit perfectly.. the Cinderella of Fashion. Also his dedication. He dreamed and begged his parents to be able to be a shoemaker and then went and became exactly that. Incredible story, incredible Designer, incredible brand.
funny how in some things we like things that are fast, like 100 yard dash for example. yet other things fast can be considered lower quality. how does that work?
You're so amazing you make it so clear and less overwhelming when it comes to a lot of things about fashion for learners, i literally binged watched like 5 vids, i learned a lot and I'm so obsessed with your channel rn, thank you so much omg
The way that he highlights everyday life while still creating these incredibly unique and tasteful designs is inspiring. I'm excited to find some new ways to express these ideas. The inspiration for my work is similar but of course this is several layers deeper. I'm taking notes.
Don’t got much 2 say just love your vids. Your channel acts like a bridge between my understanding of execution and the concept behind them. i.e. I can make tuff fits/confident in my taste so far but you provide fashion lore so it’s not just “shirt jacket pants” to me and I understand why & can expand on it. Lol I’m yapping but ur dope
Streetwear is looks that are put together by people outside fashion. In the 70s to eighties poor kids wore tracksuits because sportswear was not fashion and so was cheap and it was durable and comfortable. They wore shoes without laces because they might be hand-me-downs that are slightly small. When they made money they wanted people to know so they bought rings and chains. Yes, I know I just described one specfic look but its the same principle whether its hiphop or skaters. A design house making streetwear is a contradiction.
So much for not moving much during this episode...🤣 Canada Goose in Canada (where I live) is basic need. Honestly kind of prefer the Arcterix - more streamlined design, more interesting silluete, still very warm.
Interesting discussion. Don't you agree that it's the point of working together even if your company cannot afford an in house patternmaker for instance? So that everyone can concentrate on their strengths? I am physically not strong enough for doing all of the production myself but I can dev on the go nonstop. Unless I get really overwhelmed. I dunno. Although, working with someone who disvalues mental and intellectual effort doesn't sound fun either, so, I am learning how to do it all just in case. To have noone bitchin' around from the sewing floor. Or, work room. I just think if someone is sooo good at sewing or cutting but doesn't understand the profiting and strategy - come on, spend the energy on learning that. But, no, bitchin' is just soo fun. Yeah, I have worked in some really mean teams and effing hate people. The certain people who kill the vibe, the creativity, choking on spite or whatever. Gosh. And, I think it's easier to actually be a good patternmaker or seamstress - just do the job, go home and keep bitchin' 😅 how the designers, are good for nothing shits. Start a design line, aha. Keep a company afloat? Deal with actual shit. No? Shut up, please. Sorry, just tired, frustrated, fed up with problems. Real and imagined both. Just agrr
I have always agreed with what you have said and also what Rick said in the infamous „learn how to make clothes dont do sketches and collages „ but I am not going to lie, materials, fabrics, equipment, even a mannequin are so expensive and as someone trying to now get into college with no prior training or knowledge it feels so frustrating buying fabric and then basically wasting it because I dont know how to sew, draft pattern etc etc yet
Street wear - what folks wear out & about = general answer. Street wear = outfits joyously put together by individuals who strongly believe that clothes are artistic self-expression = modern interpretation.
Lately I have been wearing clothes that make me feel good about myself more so than before but that has also been getting me a lot of unwanted attention when I'm at a bus stop or in a shop. I don't want to change my style because of some sleazy old men but it feels like I have no other choice. Have you ever experienced this? And if so, how did you deal with it?
