I love every time Bliss mentions Yohji Yamamoto. Not a big fashion person myself (I love watching people talking about things they are passionate about), but I really like Yohji Yamamoto. Wish I had the body size and the money to afford that kind of clothing.

Atlast we are talking about the immense impact of 'the supermodels' in fashion for common people. Even the people who didn't care anything about fashion got more and more interested to watch runway shows just to watch them walk.😭😭

Alexander McQueen for Givenchy AW 97 is hands-down my favorite show ever and probably the one I've watched the most. From each look, the falcon, the soundtrack, and Princess Diana..i simply can't get enough of this show

*I KNOW ITS NOT THE QUESTION ASKED* but I can not imagine that Maison Margiela Artisanal Collection 2024 will not be utterly dominant in any future "list" it was astonishing. People I know who are not into fashion CRIED at that. Robert Wun | Haute Couture Spring Summer 2024 was also stunning. The shows this year - OMG

Not a huge galliano Stan here but his FW 1994 „Sao schlumberger show“ collection comes to mind. It’s typical galliano romanticism, glamour and a mix of various historical, cultural influences but it stands out as one of the most cohesive, well tailored and original (the two latter points being frequent grounds for complaints among critics and clients at the time regarding some of his other collections). I think this show is an amazing example of how to do theatricality and storytelling. Besides this show probably saved his career and the whole backstory is a beautiful example of collaboration between some of fashion‘s most influential people all believing in and supporting galliano.

Thanks though for giving us some lists 🥰😜 I actually just watched the Loic interview with Mugler. A forever genius. And loving that Zendaya just made him go viral again. The theatrical elements of the Yohji show is interesting when comparing to the production of the latest shows. And the supermodels! The 90’s were partially about the models and the clothes competing.

My view on the importance of "lists" is different, for instance, a person who is just beginning to discover fashion a list is a great jumping off point/introduction especially coming from someone with the knowledge and respect in the industry that you do. I learned a lot from this video 😍

11:08 I remember in your other video being disappointed that that Perry Ellis collection was never made. I'm too short and too fat, but it's one of the few fashion shows I've seen (nearly all of them in your videos) where I liked most of the looks and would actually buy them if I had the funds and weren't shaped like the Zoloft blob. Which is hilarious because I turned 10 in 1993. My sense of style is always years behind whatever's fashionable.

As per John Galiano for me the grandest of all the shows he did was the one on the stairs of the Paris Opera House that I think was for Dior.

Galliano, i would think, fall/winter 84-85 at London fashion week & Richmond-Cornejo the same year are definitely two of the best shows I ever seen. Both were so before their time. Unfortunately it dont seems to be any videos of them on RU-vid. MTV covered the whole London fashion week back then.

margiela reinvented thrifting in my opinion, before the industrial revolution and the mass comsumption thrifting was how most people got their clothes, and places like the carreau du temple (hosting fw shows every season) was a big market for the "chiffoniers" aka thrift-sellers
