Hey question….Are lanyards regulation on older skis…. Mine are 83’s … readying for salt around Camano Island … been watching you guys awhile - but been a few days
It would be awesome to see you guys get with calas n race his 140mph ski. Hell I'd be cool just seeing you guys run with a seadoo 325 with the tune n calas cam in it
Yeah chuck an 1100 in it. Too big though maybe? Dunno how much room there is. Anyway chuck something 2 stroke in a spark. Would be fast! Or maybe that 1500 kawasaki motor, did you guys ever end up using that for anything? But again, might be too big. Suspect that spark motor is pretty tiny and the hull is made to suit. Ideal hull for a swap though, easy to split in half.
I had a go on a friend's trixx one time, the most enjoyable thing was just the lightness. Taking it out on waves it just flew out of the water, great jumps. And of course the "water wheelies".
I'm looking to buy my first jet ski. I don't have much money but there's a 1974 sea jet for$2300 in my area. The guy said it's pretty nice. Is it a good ski for my first one?
Those old sea doos had so much better potential, but no reliability. I got sick of ripping my pumps out day after day. May I suggest finding a 1999 Yamaha waveblaster800. A few were imported but not many. It has very similar handling characteristics as the hx, but typical Yamaha reliability. You could easily put a 1200 in there and would be an hx eater. I found this video by googling seadoo xp 1209 swap to see what others have done because I really like the shock in the seat, but actually just answered my own question. Who’s got a Yamaha Waveblaster800 for sale?
Swap in a clapped out 650 into your blaster and stretch it about a foot. I guess it's the b1 for the ipad generation. Kinda sucks for them. If it looked cool and wasn't plastic or a seadoo and it had decent power then I would take it over a b2 blaster.
@Jacobskibros bahahaha!! That was perfect!!!!🤣 you need to do lap times and a drag with it vs. a stock b1, then do it with a triple b1! I will use your videos as since then share it with everyone I can lol
I'm in for more spark content. I'm guessing that one was a 60 as the 90 should do 50 mph. I've been toying with replacing my aging 787 gsx with a spark one of these days.
I'd rather rebuild a hx with a 787 or your gsx. I have rode a built 787 that gpsed at 64 in a 96xp amd 68 in a 97 xp. 2 stroke is cheaper to rebuild the skis are fiberglass not plastic. They don't creak lol. 50mph is with no fuel and very smooth conditions and a light weight rider. I am 6.1 200 pounds amd I couldn't reach but 46 on the 90hp version. For 10k I could spend my money amd restore a better ski
@@AtimatikArmy yep! X4 or the 97 and up. I actually rode a 951 limited yesterday for the first time and I liked it. Handles better and is faster then a spark lol. 130hp not 90 lol
@@jeffbryner5355 Agree totally. I have an old 2 stroke, thought about replacing it, but you get a pile of computers and emissions and things that are just hard to work on yourself now-a-days.
@piquat1 yep! I just totally rebuilt a 2 stroke superjet. Replaced everything including the engine internals. it was still cheaper then buying a new crappy 4 stroke ski. The best part is I don't need a computer to work on it. There is no sensors to be faulty and throw codes etc..
It's on a long "selfie" stick. The insta software removes the stick in processing so it looks like there's nothing there. Look closely and you'll see the guy's hand out like he's holding a stick.@@andybabiii1
What was done for the waterbox. Are you running the water injection? Just did the same swap. Hopefully you respond. Not finding any info on this subject
Would you guys ever make the reduction gear to Yamaha coupler for sale as a kit ? I’m really curious what LS set up you’re running ? Cam specs ? At mid 5k rpm anything in the high 230s+ duration and/or wide Lope separation you are just barely touching the top of your power band. I used to work as a tech at a few major speed shops around here, I first hand saw the before and after in hundreds of setups to what works or changes. In that tight of a bay the best manifolds to run would be a C6Z they are intended for the 7.0 LS7 but are double walled and bolt up to every LS head platform.
