Wow, congrats on learning how to get the old Yamaha to turn like a MotoGP rider! That's the pig I learned to ride on 30 years ago and yeah, it didn't hook up for crap and just liked to do 180's. I've ridden the the new GP1800 and was absolutely shocked at how many G's it could pull in a turn. It beat my freaking karts, and my karts could break my ribs!
Right on! Yeah the Wavrunner lx can’t turn very well at all but it was a fun challenge learning how to make it stick in the corners. I haven’t tried the gp1800r yet but if I had unlimited funds it would be at the top of my list 🍻👍
Great video. There’s probably more old skis out there, I’ve got a ‘96 TS650, than £30,000 ones out there. Yes, they’ll do 80mph, but I bet they’re no more fun than you’re having there. What a great track too. Thanks. 👍
😂😂😂 Josh you look like oo7 when when the camera is mounted looking at you through those turns. I think you could also be part of the fast and furious # 12 on that Yami 👍👏🏽. I had that same ski brand new back in 1991.
This is way more fun to watch than the v8 ski. It's not a garage ski. I genuinely would rather have that old LX over the FZR any day. Alot of us are not looking for a good ski we're looking for a fun ski.

@@Jacobskibros 🤣 ... I was smart about it and I didn't keep accurate records of how much I spent .... so, I don't know how much money I lots on the deal. The good news is that that money would have been 100% gone if it was just sitting in my account for the past 10 years, and I'd have nothing to show for it.... How bad of an idea do you think it would be to invest in a small CNC machine ?

@@Jacobskibros Haha... Yeah, I'm not much for stock investing.... I agree with you on the really good or bad thing. I've been using a manual lathe and mill now for some time, and every time I build or modify something, I find that my equipment is lacking... I can get it done, but the accuracy is way off (on the mill) and due to the type and design of them, everything takes so long... I often consider upgrading them and getting a better lathe and mill with DROs ... then I look at the cost and think "I should just get a small CNC mill. I should still upgrade my lathe tho.
Dang the sit down ski was like a drift car on water what's up with it can't be that hard to ride from the factory every time I watch your guys video I get so jealous of where you live and of how many skis you guys have I guess in a water town like that there's skis popping up for sale all the time
Had a 650 swapped wavejammer (same as the The waverunner lx hull) and it was a blast to toss around,but as you said....it was a bitch to make it stick a corner. Rideplate modification helped,but still no corner carver
What did you do to the ride plate? I’ve been tempted to weld a fin down the center of my ride plate to get some kind of traction. Jammers slide around like butter from the factory.
@michaeldanielallen replaced the stock plate with a (I believe) west coast rideplate for the lx (same hull as wavejammer) I found it off ebay as it was long discontinued. It had a small squared off step in it and was longer than factory to help porpoising-could easily weld a small sponson to the stock plate and add an inch of aluminum to the plate too to achieve the same affect
I died when ypu said mark Erickson taught me that. I bought carbs from him and that's how he told me to tune them 😂😂😂 it is easier then coming into the shore hot and pulling the lanyard while everyone looks at ypu like a dumb ass 😂. Yall need to get a wave jammer and put a pissed off motor in it. 😂😂 be great video content
