Welcome to The Blue Bulldog RU-vid Channel. I’m Luke, the owner of Blue Bulldog. The company started in 2021 after spending 17 years working my way through the industry I decided to start my own business. I’ve worked on every aspect of domestic plumbing and heating and over the years learnt a lot from different people that I realised would benefit other people. That’s when I decided to start showing tips and tricks and my work which then lead on to showcasing my work, day in the life videos and general plumbing and heating chat.
Feel free to drop me a message on Instagram if you have any questions or queries on my work or any clips you see that you want more information on
The new camera is a lot better, this job was quite stressful for you Luke, but credit to you sticking at it so it looked right for the customer, thank you for the video !!
Watching the video I was thinking, I wouldn't it like that, I would do this etc, but 'i can not help but respect the professionalism, not your fault I know but the TRV is useless inside the RAD cover, and it might not make much difference but I was always taught, never cut 10mm with pipe cutters, you reduce the bore to 8mm or less with multiple cuts, but huge respect mate and well done for sorting. No Hate.
Great detailed job mate. Regarding balancing the system; 1 turn, 2 turns, etc.... But can you explain, maybe in a future video if there's a technical way, (flow/return temperatures I believe), on how to balance the system?
Great video Luke, it dont matter how many vids on😂 youtube i watch about changing rads, taps, pipework, yours are the most interesting, even if you make a mistake it shows you are human, well done mate keep them vids coming, love it.
Nothing wrong with what you've done in the slightest, but In my view this customer did everything in the wrong order. If you're making a custom radiator cover, you don't make a cover first, then try to get a radiator to fit it ! You fit the radiator, then make the cover to fit the radiator. Talk about making your job harder than it needed to be because their approach was illogical.
Respect to the bulldog!!! How you plumbers work on microbore amazes me you have the patience of a Saint and still somehow made a silk purse out of a sows ear brilliant work pal 👍🏼. K.O.P .Keep on plumbing
What does everyone think of the new camera angle? Let me know in the comments If I’m honest I think I could of edited the video down a little, one of my longest videos I’ve done 😅😅
All good 👍 I’m going to cut some 10mm and have a look myself to be honest cause I’ve just used a pipe slice, I’ve got a debur so could possibly use that with slice
Why do you use a pipe slicer on 10 mm, it makes the inside circumference so small that it is not 10 mm, should use a hacksaw, so you don't reduce the amount of heat that can pass through 10 mm pipework, it reduces the heat load by 20%, plus more chance of blockage in the pipework, this isn't that great video.
@@cathyoshea3844 why use a hacksaw and risk nicking the pipe causing problems down the line when you can use a 10mm pipe slicer which is why it was invented in the first place 🤣
I do for that reason?. But that's just me. If I was a not it all I wouldn't, be watching your video,s... Great to see other ways of doing jobs. Thank you.
@@gregbenham5586honestly I’ve never seen another plumber hacksaw 10mm pipe when installing on heating system, I could be wrong to be fair so something I’m going to look into…always like feedback on my videos as helps people learn and question stuff
Seams a lot of work just to have a radiator cover I wouldn't have bothered 😢 Good video body cam we can see your hands working not working with one hand
Box spanners or deep sockets work a treat. I do like the look od that scraper though. I've got a 2" purdy scraper in the bag, might be time to swap it out.
So... you've got a tool with a bevelled edge which seems to be intended to be at least marginally sharp, and you use the thing as a screwdriver? Do you also use your spirit level as a hammer?
