I have restored about five of these and they are really wonderful machines. There was one tandem crank model that I always looked for, it had a square taper bottom bracket and a Q factor similar to double road cranks. I remember building some 27 inch wheels too!
Any videos on how to service one of those rear shocks? I have an old stumpjumper from 2012-2014 with the same rear shock but need some pointers on how to service it. Regarding the video, you forgot the mudguards :P jokes aside relaxing video, was fun to watch too.
I bought a new Pro Carbon Enduro SL in 2008 and it was okay. The E150 double crown fork was the let down- not very sensitive on small bumps and tended to need a lot of servicing. It got replaced in 2014 for a Carbon StumperJumper Evo, under warranty by Specialized, as the headset liner fell out 🤣 Good to see the bike again and a great restoration 👍🏻
NICE. I still have a 2009 Specialized Enduro S-works carbon. Old school, like me😅. But I love that bike. Still a great bike; good that you brought this one back.❤
If one day I could make this my job. Find old, used and abused bikes and build them up as they are new. And then ride them again. I love building bikes!

The bike is solid and my Ebike conversion went great. ru-vid.comUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Very smooth ride at 30mph with no problems (135 miles ridden so far). The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.
Not to be weird or anything but like, I’ve been in that room in the beginning of the video. It was like 3 months ago. Pretty cool room. I liked the exposed beam ceilings. Didn’t really care for the lizards. I also the video makers bike shed. He’s a nice young man. Treated me with respect. He put ‘spect on my name, as the kids say. 😍🥰😘

I’ve seen a lot of restoration videos where people just throw away everything apart from the frame and essentially build up a new bike. While I still consider that a restoration you have done an amazing job at building this bike with a lot of its original parts. People should learn from you to reuse instead of buying everything new. BRAVO!
I own a 2017 rally with full ohlins suspension electronic jet kit just waiting on exhaust so has more power then averge 250 tryna make her feel when done like the 300 and she be perfect got the extra caMel tank bike is unstoppable
hey, idk if you'll see this, but I have the same bike basically and one of the forks is starting to leak, i was wondering if u knew were to get like a seal kit or whatever it would need to fix it, I took it to a shop and they said they didn't really have anyone to work on it, it's a 2008-9 enduro sl comp with the specialized brand forks. any info would be great, thanks :)
Dang! Parts are really hard to find for this fork. Your best bet is to look on ebay or pinkbike for parts. The stanchions are 35 mm so any 35mm foam ring will work at least. Hope this helps!
Nice job! I've got a 1995 Trek T50. I've been modifying it with more modern parts since we bought it 10 years ago (for 160€ in a thrift shop). Many people don't get the chance to ride a tandem and it is an enjoyable and different ride than a single. It gave me the chance to share with my girlfriend my passion for cycling and gave her the change to ride to much further places than she would by herself. Thanks for making me think of this!
Yes, this is possible! I have the same enduro expert SL 2008 and was able to install the complete Shimano Deore XT 1x12 drivetrain, and it works great.
Wow, beautiful job and video. I have been riding a 50 plus year old Schinn Tandem. It has been well cared for, but needs to be disassembled , thoroughly cleaned, etc. I would love to take this project myself. The Africa Twin is a great bike for an expert off road rider, otherwise it is only really a road bike due to its weight and size, in my opinion, I think your Son with the 250L has the better bike because even the Rally is still a heavy pig 🐖
