perfect, you fixed my problem. i set the same as you and now my mac preview is exactly like davince preview. BUT... when i upload to youtube it change the colors a bit...more red i guess. i dont understand since i export rec 709 for colorspace and gama. could you please help me...? thanks!!

Hi! I have a question. You export the file as Rec 709, not A right? Why is it actually? And what happens if you will edit the file in Final Cut let's say? Will it read 709 right? or I should export to 709A, and only after editing in Final Cut to compress it somewhere in 709 Colo Space? Thank you!

Can't thank you enough for uploading! Resolve should "recognise" somehow the MAC and set this by default. It's depressing when you think you where trying your best to color grade and you where color grading everything wrong because of what was presenting on the monitor.
For those who had this sorted out before but are back to the old problem: After recent updates you have to change the colorspace inside of the TIMELINE SETTINGS which overwrite whatever you have set in your project settings. If its a graded project put a color space transform effect on your entire timelime (input "rec.709" - output "use timeline") et voila
Great catch but for people who are new like myself at this, voila for which one? Do I change "Input" gamma or "input" color space?... and vice versa for output? Do i just rec 709 the whole CST options? lol thanks
Yes, that has bugged me for some time in the past as well. I used to do it the harder way - while editing, my timeline color space as P3, and before the export I would change it back to Rec709. Had pretty similar results, but your approach looks to be more methodical, and skips the uneeded color space change before the export. Thank you
Dude like every body has already said you saved my a$$. My own fault switched to Davinci on a big project and thought “I’ll get the hang of it” ohhh was I wrong. I’ve been a day out from delivering it to client but notice the washed out colours and all and was like sh£t.
Hi! Thanks for your video! This solution seems to work fine ON MAC, but if i take my final clip (the one i exported from Davinci and looks good on Mac) and play it on a PC, i get contrasty and dark images. On the other hand, if i work on PC, using rec 709 gamma 2.4 as my timeline and output settings, i get a clip that looks good on PC, but washed out if played on mac. I read about a second solution, wich is supposed to work crossplatform, wich is keeping the default settings (uncheck "use Mac display color profiles for viewers" and keep rec 709 gamma 2.4) and select P3-dci color space tag and sRGB as gamma tag. This solution seems to work better (not 100%, but better), but looks to me like a hack that could have some drawbacks. I wanted to ask you if you have any professional advice on this very complex subject that could fix the problem once and for all. Piernicola

говорит смотри какой ужас при рендере и вместо того чтобы сделать рендер таким какое изображение накручено делаем все в программе таким же ужасным как и в рендере аахаха и везде одно и тоже, крутит заново и говорит смотри я решение нашёл. одна копипаста везде. я предполагаю решение должно быть другим, таким чтобы рендер был таким же какое изображение ты делаешь изначально на стандартных настройках, потому что при скриншотах это изображение именно такое только после рендера оно портится. либо это всё тупо баг давинчи на который все закрывают глаза!!! при смене с рек709 на рек 709а уходит глубина цвета это очевидно! и нет смысла что-то крутить, всё должно быть из коробки нормально. сделал рек709 и хочу его увидеть таким же при рендере
Согласен что это баг и недоработка Давинчи. Я сегодня им написал письмо в службу поддержки. Они мне ответили столько всего что я половину сам ничего не понял ( я только начинаю учиться, уже как три года) Вообщем я им ответил зачем так усложнять жизнь ? Почему бы не решить эту проблему ? Кстати ! Я читал на днях на форумах Давинчи что в версии 15 DaVinci Resolve Studio такого не было, цвета оставались такими же, все работало как надо. Многие вложились в новые современные дорогие мощные компьютеры и тут на тебе проблема, цвета после экспорта совсем другие.

вот что ещё на ютубе на ходил в одном из комментов, не факт что это именно так но звучит логично, нужно будет подумать об этом: "Давинчи и Премьер по умолчанию показывают в относительно честном rec709 не касаясь маковского профиля, какой бы он не стоял. Маковский профиль по умолчанию серее по насыщенности и ниже по контрасту (выше гамма). Если вы так настроите Давинчи, как описали, вы будете красить цветнее и контрастнее материал, чтобы он правильно выглядел на вашем сером маковском профиле, но при этом на большинстве обычных экранов, на айпаде и айфонах (особенно на oled) все будет слишком контрастно и слишком насыщенно. Поэтому колористы калибруют экраны под точный rec709 (который вообще должен правильно работать только в почти полной темноте и яркости экрана 100 нит (настройка примерно 50% яркости от максимального на большинстве экранов macbook до м1, которые на 100 процентах - 350-450 нит)), и такой же профиль устанавливают на саму систему macos - тогда везде будет одинаково. Либо более простой вариант - оставить в давинчи и премьере все, как есть, а в мак загрузить профиль приблизительно имитирующий rec709 - нашел его на каком-то англоязычном форуме, файл назывался HD 709-A.icc - не могу прислать, потому что комменты с ссылками попадают в спам. Это не точный способ, потому что нет честной калибровки, но так вы примерно сводите цвет Давинчи, Премьера и самой системы, то есть и телеграм, и браузер с ютубом и инстаграмом начинают показывать изображение гораздо ближе к тому, что вы увидите на windows, ipad и iphone, и главное ближе к тому цвету, который делали колористы в rec709 - то есть не привыкаете к серому, не контрастному изображению 🙂 Но если задача красить конкретно только под средний экран макос, то ваш вариант лучше."@@UraFlight
@@wpcwe_official Я вижу вы опытный в этом деле. Я этим занимаюсь уже 3 года ( просто это у меня хобби) многого еще пока не знаю, мне почему-то это искусство тяжело дается. Хочу научиться красить как в голивудских фильмах. Премьером я не пользуюсь потому что за него надо платить каждый месяц, за Давинчи я заплатил один раз и служба поддержки у него хорошая и быстро отвечают на письма если мне что-то нужно настроить.
From what I know, QuickTime has a 1.96 gamma level. So matching DaVinci Resolve to QuickTime will make your grades look good on QuickTime but it will come out wrong when delivering to clients because they'll either view it on the web or on a Windows machine, which both do not use a 1.96 gamma value. So, in essence this is only solving the problem on the creator's end but not on the client's.
Hello! I have a question then. First of all I understand, that if I export Rec 709A, then it will, as you said match with Quick Time, but not with anything else. But, from what I see in his video, he actually exports in REC 709, not A. Which means, that on the timeline he has 709A, to view correctly on a Mac, but then he converts it to 709. Am I correct. If yes, what happens, if after resolve I should export to Final Cut, which is 1.96 as well? Then probably I shoud export actually to A, otherwise Final Cut fill get different colors. But then, if I export from Final Cut to pro-res file, and then, I need to deliver this Pro-Res file in the right colors, so I need to compress it in Rec 709, not A to make RU-vid deliver the colors correctly. Is it right?
