Absolutely brilliant video, thank you! Subbed. I'm waiting for my Samyang to arrive today and I'm selling the 24-105 before I even try the Samyang. Why? I really do love the Sony but the truth is there are so many situations where I'm just reaching for a 35mm or 50mm prime to give that wow factor but funnily enough I'm often using them at F2.8! I'm chopping in 5 lenses (2 Sony and 3 Sigmas) for 3 Samyangs that will not only cover 99 percent of my focal lengths but allow me to get much faster aperture across the board and only pack 3 instead of 5 lenses!

Didn't know how samyang 24-70 will work with my a7iv, it has no ibis that's why I was worried. Now u made me clear man thanks man thanks. Everything in this video was shot with the same camera, the Sony A7III - We film plenty of content with the A7III handheld and the in body steady shot paired with the Samyang is really impressive. The only thing to be mindful of is the weight of the Samyang lens - It's pretty weighty and you'll definitely notice that shooting handheld all of the time!
Kindly reply!!! Samyang has definitely better image quality but I am facing some problem with samyang 24-70 f2.8 while pairing with sony a7 iv ( I have updated sony firmware to the latest version). Whenever I try to take portrait and eye AF is on, it focuses either little bit before or behind the eye even with any object when I try to engage touch Af. Similar I have tried with Sony GM lens and sigma art 24-70 f2.8 I didn't find the same issue. But for video shoot there is no such problem... Can you please check this samyang lens that you have with sony a7iv and provide me any solution for my problem?
Your copy of the lens most probably has back/front focusing issue as factory default. You can fix it by connecting it to a computer and using Samyang's Lens utility software (you can download it for free on their website) but you will need to buy their lens station to connect it to your computer. It's not that expensive (around 30 euros brand new or if you can find a used one then its even cheaper). If you have other Samyang lenses also you can use the lens station to update the firmware and change a lot of functions. Hope this helps.
I use the Sony 24-105mm on a SONY FS5, and I can't get the steady shot to work... (maybe an issue with my lens specifically? or firmware??) But the 2.8 stop on the SAMYANG does it for me... Think I'll go with the SAMYANG after seeing your review. Thanks
it was a really good lens for the short time that I had it- was a bit heavy though- but I liked it a lot. image quality and lens performance were excellent... however, there are two really huge problems with it: first, is that the mounting plate is screwed into four small plastic posts- this is all that is holding your lens onto your camera. so let's say you trip and fall and you bang your lens on the ground (which I've done with my sony 28-70mm kit lens- but it still works perfectly), or if your tripod with your camera falls, as mine did, the plastic posts will simply break on impact and your lens will just snap straight off your camera. the second problem is trying to get that repaired. it will not go well because repair shops cannot get any parts for your lens, and Samyang has only one location in the US to fix the things covered by their warranty... so ultimately you'll learn that you've bought a $1000 disposable lens... a real shame because I would have easily replaced it with another. Instead, though I'm gonna miss the 4mm on the wide end, I got the Tamron.
@@paiman_if your looking to expose some sort of deceitfulness on my part, maybe to discredit my thoughts on the Samyang, i'll just save you and the countless handful of people from any more vexation and undeserved sleepless nights- I confess. yes, I did copy and paste. however, if someone had done the same 3 months ago couldn't have cared any less how he put the word out... and I wouldn't have gotten that lens... and so what if the message is copied and pasted? i guess if I was some kind of maniac with lots of spare time on my hands I could give a thousand versions of the same thought... also, the negative replies I've gotten were all the same... so copy and paste made a lot of sense with them as well... cheers!

And yes, you are crazy, I saw your review on every Samyang post. I bought it anyway, and if you can work out the distortion, it's a great choice for crafty folks :-)
