Hello! I'm Max, I do 3D animation for video games, and this is where I upload some of my work. I've done work for Valve, Facepunch Studios Ltd., Nightdive Studios, and many other clients. On RU-vid, I'm mostly known for work with the Source Filmmaker. Nowadays, I mostly upload showcases of my animation work to this channel. (In a sense, I'm not trying to be a "RU-vidr", I'm just someone who uploads his work *to* RU-vid.)
I try to read every comment I get; I like reading what you think about my work! (All I ask is that you don't be rude or a bigot.)
You can find higher quality mirrors of some of my work on Vimeo. (See the channel links below.)
If you want to ask me something, you can do so at my e-mail address (see below), tweet at me (@MaxLebled), or leave an "Ask" on my Tumblr blog.
My avatar was drawn by @botjira. You can find her on Twitter.
He never functioned well by himself and needed constant support and guidance. Why doth thine narrator feel like an attack on thy person? Seriously, don't leave me alone, ever.
This is without question still the best SFM ever made. I saw this so many years ago, and I once in a while scroll back in my favorites and see this. Wow.
Thanks! I'm not gone, but this is very likely to have been my last Dota film - I think I'd be stagnating as an artist if I continued struggling within the limits of the SFM, and Dota itself just really holds no interest for me anymore. I moved on... to other games with far healthier overarching gameplay loops (that is to say: not adrenaline-fueled "just one more game" MOBAs with FOMO monetization), and games with far less toxic communities. Most importantly, I also moved on to more fulfilling creative endeavours than what Dota has settled into. I saw that they (finally!) saw that their universe could be an interesting vehicle for interesting narratives and characterization, with that Skywrath/Venge arcana update thing, but for me, it's too little, too late. I might still help some friends with their movie projects (and I did just that last year, see the community tab of my channel for a link), but that'll most likely be as far as it gets. My next video will probably be a rather amusing bug reel of all the accidental 3D horrors I've summoned during the development of the game I'm currently working on.
Nine Inch Nails... Holy cow. In the "Insanity" section, i noticed a familiar sound. Listened closer and yep. That's some Nine Inch Nails music from Ghosts. Trivia that most Stanley Parable players won't even know.
"Go ahead, play with those controls all you like. The real controls are where I'm sitting." Though it's not canon beyond this mod, that line does add some nice insight to the HD Remix and Ultra Deluxe.
Do you still have the old patch you had in this video (assumingly 4104) on your computer or on any archive? There is a group of people looking for this specific patch, but there is no download to it.
21:35 and people say the modern iteration of the narrator is less serious. This part, this part right here, is the same tone he uses in the modern iterations. Sounds plenty serious to me.
