The stock market is at the end of a 15-year bull run spurred on by money printing and artificially-low interest rates, along with the assumption of ridiculously overvalued fundamentals and 35 Trillion in Federal debt. There are plenty of reasons to be more suspicious for future returns in the stock market than in niche collectibles like comic books. You just got to know what you're doing.
I have not seen this video.....I will tho.....there is no investment in today's comics that come out every Wednesday...especially ratio books (long term). it's all gold silver and bronze and a bit of copper to where the money is. I am happy people are still buying today's book every week....keep the hobby alive. there are no kids going to comic books shops anymore especially when books go for 5 or 6 bucks a pop. no thanks.

@@2hugebros241 I always tell my friends getting into the hobby: “At the end of the day it’s just you and the book, alone in a room.” Even if you’re going to sell it and it’s all listed on eBay and everything, before it sells, it’s STILL just you and the book, alone in a room. If you don’t have love for it, the moment you two are alone in that room you’re gonna feel that right quick. Thats why I don’t use words like “personal collection”. If I buy it, then it’s in my personal collection lol, so why give only some books that special designation?
TY. "investment" has multiple meanings, same for what they return". celebrate and appreciate life's balances...stay balanced. Fitness and Nutrition, Relationship Time, Family Time, Hobby Time, Work Time, Spiritual Time...all investments in life - maintain balance of these many life-enjoying-investments, and then you can appreciate each - take time to appreciate the investments - and balance yourself within each, enjoy. make sure its FUN. Comics and this hobby, in balance, returns so much, stories, art, inspiration, joy and the community it can also connect one to.
If I just wanted to do something for just investment wise I do mutual funds to bonds to putting 15% of my wage into my retirement fund. I buy books because I love them first and foremost.. Comics from the golden age became valuable because of scarcity and the important factor as we call it “key”… Secondly no book can be called an investment unless there is value to it. Anything can be a investment.. Jeans to shoes to hats to sneakers you name it can become valuable if demand is there and volume is low.. So to say are comics an investment? Yes,,,why because anyone who is a collector values them as more then a piece of paper a paper that has art inside it..
And UF4 is here to stay regardless of the movies. Culturally relevant and will continue to be into the future. Definite long term investment potential. Just look at ASM 300, most graded book ever and always demands a premium relevant to the market.

Thankfully, I now outright own my house, still work a decent job with a good salary, and also get Military Retirement and Military Disability pay every month... So now is the time, I can actually start spending a few thousand a month on comics (shhhhhh... don't tell my wife). 1st time here. Great plan, and good luck with it. I thought I'd do the same once I turned 60. I'm 61 now and still buy.... But I am buying less, collecting less, so there's some progress. I couldn't go cold turkey.
Not even Stan Lee was charging 500-750 for a signed pic or etc on an item. Arnold F him!!!! And his freedom that man is worth over half a billion dollars and needs to charge a fee for his signature. I’d pee on his sig to think if he thinks a 2 sec sig is worth that. I’d rather use that so called 500-750 and give it to the soup kitchen for people who need it more then a multimillionaire who’s thinks they need more $$$$$. Your a fool if you want to pay that much for these regular people who are no different then you or me just because they were in a movie or tv show makes them think they are some special human being.. Don’t make me laugh
I got to meet Ben Templesmith at Fan Expo Dallas this year. He drew 30 Days of Night and co-pioneered the modern horror comic. I asked him to sign my 1st prints of the three issue run and he told me the one book he had to charge me to sign was issue 1 since it’s relatively valuable. He was so humble and gracious, and very apologetic for charging, but i gladly paid the $20 he charged. We need more A-listers to adopt that attitude.
So, what I got from this video is that people knew they were not supposed to show up until 8 am, chose to disregard that and show up at 5, and catch some flack from hotel staff. Hmmmmmmm. Not to mention you got what you wanted, and met the generous Mr Reeves who gave his time to squeeze this appearance into his schedule. It also often confuses me when people throw thoughts and opinions around as if they were facts. 500 people to make this happen? Maybe a dozen and about 1 day and a half. I also believe that the physical photo for $20 wasn't mandatory and that the photo could be downloaded, making the entire experience a freebie except for a little effort on the fans part. I am an occasional vendor and know Mitch. He actually cares about the fans. Some things are out of his control and sometimes rules need to be spoken firmly. The event got done.

It was great seeing you at the Con. Congrats on meeting Keanu. I feel you on the staff being unprepared and overzealous in how they handled the people. I got told I couldn’t sit on a bench outside the convention for because they didn’t want me sneaking into the line. I was taken back by that when I explained I was just sitting and had no intention of meeting him. I’m glad you had a cool experience, and hope to see you at future shows.

And if it's any consolation to you and M.O.N., as the years go by the negativity of the Restriction of Human Rights memory will begin to fade and feel less loud as the memory of your endurance of meeting K. will only feel STRONGER and MORE AWESOME :)
