Hello, Would you happen to know why I’m not picking up a advice when I scan for devices? It’s connected via Ethernet cord to the laptop top. I even modified the settings. Thank you.
Can you reply and tell me the tag name for current feedback? I'm about to put a G120X via ethernet into a ControlLogix PLC (L84) sometime tomorrow or early next week for a customer, so I haven't gone through the AOI yet or downloaded it so it may be obvious once I dig into it, but I think I'm going to follow this process and just point the data I/O to my custom control module (AOI) that I call P_VSD, essentially it's a P_VFD plantpax block that I modified to work with any motor type, hard wired, e300, VFD's etc just based on what value you put in it'll swap it's functionality accordingly even in the plantPAX graphics. I'm pretty sure I'd be able to figure it out, but if there's anything I need to know please do because there's a lot more things I'll need from the VFD than what you displayed here. Thanks in advance friend, cheers!
Boss. I would like to ass one question. You have two ethernet cards in plc. In this situation data cable from pc should plug in which card? And which ip address should be match in pc ip address setting? Thank you very much and look forward for you respond!
Boss I would like to ask. You have two internet cards with different ip address. So which ip address is your computer setting match to? Thank you very much
I did everything that you showed but if I change B3:0/1 to 1 nothing happens... No acceleration, no frequency shown on the display on the VFD. What could have go wrong?
Thank you very much for the tutorial! I have a question: If I don't have access to Siemens software, am I still able to set up the drive for comms to the rockwell PLC? We're trying to control the drive, but also have it transmit one of its analog input values over to the PLC.
@LukeVader77 the basic version doesn't need a license. here is the link support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109807137/sinamics-startdrive-v18?dti=0&lc=en-WW
Thanks for the great video! We have been dealing with 525's for years, but never knew about the USB connectivity and setup through CCW. Normally, when we have to change a drive; we install it, power it up, and manually set the IP address to get it online. Then we would connect to it through Studio and drop all of the parameters in it. This way through CCW gives us another option. I just got done trying this out with a spare drive that we have and it works great. Thanks!
Glad this helped you with engineering efficiency!! You should check out the Siemens drives controlled by a 5069-L320ERMS2, I made a video for it. This is my own opinion but I have found them to out perform the AB drives. That's just my opinion though.
@@PLCAutomationTraining Thanks for the info about one of your videos. We don't have much Siemens stuff anymore. We find it not to be very user friendly. Our corporation as a whole is phasing out anything Siemens, and we are a German owned company too. AB seems to be a lot easier to deal with, and it is our corporate standard for PLC's. For VFD's, we use AB and Yaskawa.
When I plug in the VFD to my laptop there is no auto play. Then when I check the removable USB Drive, I cannot view the VFD and quick access just keeps loading. My computer can't seem to recognize the drive. Do I need any other programs besides CCW.
I would like to see a complete STEP7 course set. From this beginning to introduction to programing in Step7, intermediate programing, advanced programing and troubleshooting PLC's with STEP7. Also, I would like to see a course on upgrading existing PLC programs created in STEP7 v5.2 or V5.5 to existing latest hardware and software.
Contact your local vendor or visit the Siemens site and download a version you want to use and you should get a 30day trial license with it if I remember correctly.
Great video! but unfortunetely there's isn't the recipe plus library in my FactoryTalk View ME (i'm using version 9.0)... If possible, could you provide the library file?
