I really enjoyed this episode Dr. Huberman! I wanted to suggest a potential guest: Kalani Das. He’s a percussionist who focuses on world music, and he teaches about the benefits of group performance from a music therapy standpoint.

I Intermittent fast and do OMAD. It works best for me to keep my hunger down and not overeat. My eating window is 2 to 4 hours. Best to keep not being hungry, blood glucose stays low, have higher energy and am finally losing weight. I love long fasts to up to 60 hours. No problem the longer i have been fasting. Doing it for 5 years.

I sincerely want to thank Dr. Huberman for the incredibly enlightening video on alcohol! Reflecting on my past, I used to engage in excessive drinking and partying from a very young age of 13, often alongside friends. This behavior eventually led me to experiment with different substances, highlighting alcohol as the gateway to further drug use. A pivotal moment came when a serious accident occurred while I was heavily intoxicated, resulting in a close friend losing a toe due to exposure in freezing Canadian weather. During the time I was writing my first two books, I found myself residing with three consecutive alcoholics, which was a challenging period. Following a distressing experience of escaping one of them in the dead of night, I made a resolute decision to completely abstain from alcohol. Since 2020, I have maintained my sobriety and have positively transformed my physical, mental, and financial well-being. To raise awareness about the dangers of alcohol consumption and addiction, I have chosen to release my third book, "Why I Stopped Drinking And Why You Will Too," into the public domain. This is in hopes of continuing the momentum and educating others on the risks associated with alcohol use. Once again, my deepest appreciation goes out to You Dr. Huberman- for creating such a valuable video!!!

This is a great talk about brain chemistry and dreams. Lucid dreaming being a great tool that one can use to explore the nature of mind. But correlation isn't necessarily causation when it comes to conscious experiences and brain states... We are the eternal witness. Reality is a mental construct shared by many conscious observers. On my channel, I explain why metaphysical idealism should be the default position-not materialism, as such a view suffers from the hard problem of consciousness, which is an impasse, and physicalist metaphysics itself violates Occam's razor.

Can you do a epusode on yerba mate? It has natural theanine alongside the caffein. And I assume it is smoked because smoke/coal triggers cyp receptor in the liver which speeds up caffein clearance. Cold yerba mate preparation (called terere) are said to lessen the carcinogenic problems of smoked yerba mate. in other words: smooed yerba mate is caffein, a cigarette and theanin in one package, right?

That was absolutely enlightening. I had an idea how my bad addictions worked in the past, alcohol, weed. Or current, caffeine. But now I also understand so much more about my good addiction, rock climbing. I used to drink a coffee before climbing, but kind of felt it was not good, there was something off. I now drink one once in a while. Same with using my phone in between climbs. This episode has put these two behaviours in so much light. Amazing.

Since both indica and sativa dominant strains generally contain THC and CBD at similar ratios, it seems that the ratio of different terpenes could be what leads to those "uplifting" versus "sedative" effects. I'm curious to know Dr. Andrew Huberman's thoughts on terpene profiles and the "entourage effect".

Problems with this episode: 1. No mention of other flu-like illnesses that may masquerade with similar symptoms such as COVID. 2. “A millimetre is one hundredth of a centimetre” 💀 That said the rest of the episode is pretty solid and informative

Pavlov also gave dogs electric shocks at the tone of a metronome. He also used street kids in the bell/salivate condition reflex (yes he put a tube through their cheeks like he did with the dogs). The discord with his theory is reflex vs learning (salivating is a reflex. Fear response to imminent electric shock is learnt).

Very unimpressive. The only "new" insight is keeping the mitochondria happy throughout the day rather than just relegated to scheduled workouts. The other stuff is the usual sleep, diet, exercise, less stress... Really didn't need three hours from Casey to know that. Some of these "simple" "natural" interventions may work if indeed your metabolism is wrecked by what Casey cites. But what if it's not?! One of the problems is that you get heart valvular or lung disease not due to any of these metabolic causes but biomechanical ones. Yes, mitral and other valvular diseases can be due to obesity, etc., but sometimes they have nothing to do with metabolic issues, such as valvular prolapse due to wear and tear. If you get serious heart or lung issues, you will indeed have metabolic issues as well but they won't the ones that kill you.

You know what’s crazy.. I have OCD and a lot of people with ocd tend to confuse certain emotions etc etc.. and become highly fixated on what they mean about them.. for instance myself.. I was working for fed ex at the time.. I was on a route and making a delivery to a business I’ve gone to almost every other day for about 5 months being that it was a new up and running business so deliveries were being made very often. So on this one particular day.. I had about 50 boxes to drop off and there was this guy and this lady helping me, great. As I was looking through the boxes to hand to them.. I stopped for about a second and was either change the song on my phone or either a video on my phone.. I tend to listen to a lot of podcast well working.. I was in a bit of a stressed.. but not in a bad mood.. I just hate delivering a lot of boxes especially in the summer when it’s really hot and this situation happened to be in the summer so my mood wasn’t the BEST but also was not in a bad mood either. So in the moment well on my phone another guy walks out to help up, mind you I’ve seen this guy many times and said wassup to many times no problem all good and go about my business but in almost a reflex happened so fast this rush hit me in my chest.. causing an involuntary smile to kick in.. threw me off almost instantly because I’m like wth was that? I quickly obsess over it and become fixated. I tried to put 2 and 2 together.. because I was like he did almost catch me off guard because I was on my phone and i looked up for like a split second.. I couldn’t understand what happened, because this involuntary smile felt very uncontrollable and I was just tryna figure out wtf was going on.. never had this ever happen 27 years of my life up until that one day and then it became an on going thing specifically around men but right before this happened. This NEVER happened so it’s very odd that this keeps happening to me I wonder if it’s because I response negatively to it each time and my brain just keeps sending it idk I sometimes feel very lost and confused it’s been about 11 months and happens everyday.. any help would be great . Let me not forget to mention months after this I was venting to my girlfriend and I was in tears because I told her idk what’s happening to me idk why this keeps happening it never did before and it just happens all the time and I can’t control it. Literally in tears and while I’m crying that same rush hit me and I was just like wtf.. I’m literally crying right now. As I was telling her that I’m feeling the same thing .. she literally says you’re not smiling at all though.. although it really felt like I was even if it was a bit she told me I wasn’t at all.. so it’s just very confusing on what’s going on honestly.
