We were at a campground just outside of Yellowstone and I backed the truck into the 5th wheel hitch. Had a new tailgate put on after we got home. I was so upset that I did that but chocked it up to what not to do again. 😊
We bought our lectric bikes a few years back on your recommendation & we absolutely love them! They really are excellent bikes & work so very well. We had the upgraded seats from day 1 but I just got the HUGE seat for my big behind & I love it
I backed into my brand new Solitude 380FL three weeks ago with less damage to my rv and it was a $2100 bill! Fixing the tailgate was $950. Expensive lesson to learn as I was trying to avoid the pin box while backing in a torrential downpour forgetting my rear end was raised higher than normal with my air bags inflated! What a horrible feeling!
There is a rule I have shared a lot that says, "If you can't see. STOP!" This is a rule I have followed, even when it comes to a spotter. If I lose site of my wife when backing in, I stop.
Yep, you are in good company; hubs was backing in this past winter when I was in the fiver and I felt the "bump". First time in our 20 years of owning 5th wheels. 😮 We just left the 2 little dimples in our tailgate; I consider them RV battle scars and hope we don't repeat the experience.
Battle scars is a perfect term. We are newbies and just obtained battle scars on both long sides of our rv. My husband has had his CBL for years. He is used to driving trucks and school busses. He thought driving our 5th wheel would be the same. It's not.
In all your nomading, if thats the worst, youve beem doing things right I have to say lots of full time people have come and gone. You all are still here
I carry a folding step stool in the back of the truck. When setup at the RV I set the step stool right where I want the back end to stop. I can see the step stool in the camera.
This is why I don't trust backing using the rear camera. I learned to back up by turning my body and looking out the rear window. Haven't backed into anything in 50 years. Safe travels.
I lasted not even 5 min on this trail before I had to take the keys from my dad and head back to the car. I was dizzy and had one of my first migraines. I was 12, and 7 years later, I'd find out I was allergic to Sulfa.
Nathan: “gas on the left and brake on the right”? What? No wonder why Hensley was worried! 🤪🤪. Liked the RV movie clip. Did you guys get a bunch of spectators? 💩💩
I am currently RV-less 😢, but I'd love to come. Can I either tent camp or do they have camping cabins available? I've been planning my eclipse trip, but I'd much rather share it with y'all.
We were invited to the Lippert Rally. Somewhere we found a website that has a calendar of many RV rallies. I don't have the link but you can Google it.
@LessJunkMoreJourney thank you so much. I'm thinking to by a van, of course after the money is saved up. I've already rescued 1 dog for a companion for my service dog and a playmate for me. It's coming along. I'm hoping by the time the get together in quartzite, AZ starts 🙏 no insurance cause I was doing a major rebuilt on the motorhome. I'm thankful I took my little service dog with me that afternoon ☺️ 🤗
Been talking to my favorite RV websites about how you guys make your money on you tube. Seems like nobody knows. # 1 : Subscribe to channel # 2 : Hit the like button ( thumbs up ) # 3 : Watch the ads all the way thru. ( I will be honest, if you skip the ads, they make nothing. the longer you watch the ads, the more they make. ) The thing that bothers me is they have no control of the ads. Most are 30 seconds or less. Will watch those just to support the channel. The ones that get me are the Floor&Decor that last 3 minutes. Have to skip. # 4 : Watch the video to the end. ( They are judged on how long you watch, to the end. Golden. ) Show your love for them, complete all 4. I know I will !!!!!!!!!!
I got a two for one this past summer on vacation. My tailgate came open while I was driving and I didn’t know it. When I stopped to get gas and had to make a sharp turn, the tailgate hit the front of my trailer.
Dusty dirty faces means a good time!! My husband and another couple (our best friends) took our 4 wheelers to Wallace Idaho about 10 years ago and went through the mountains to Montana, it was an all day adventure and when we finally made it back just after the sun went down we were exhausted and dirty from the all of the dust.. Wonderful memories that I will never forget... So glad you all enjoyed your adventure in the mountains..
What a great video! Sorry your truck and rv got hit. Accidents happen. My sister back up into my car one time and dented my fender and license plate. My brother fixed it while he was out here in Vegas. Sad to hear about someone and dog died at Yellowstone. You all did a lot while you were the rally. Nice seeing Marissa driving the ATV. Great job on driving it. Glad you were able to get someone to fix your dumping tank. I wish I could meet up with you all in Texas for the eclipse but I’ll be there in spirit. You all have fun and enjoy your week and have a Happy Thanksgiving with your family. 🦃 safe travels. Have a great week!
Oh boy can I relate to that “glare” when backing up…. But I put a big HOLE in the side of the house when backing up our RV !!!! Small drivable with a trailer hitch…. on a dark rainy night…. 🤦♀️
I’m going to IN have reservations full hookup for the eclipse April 7 to 9th. Can’t wait. I would love to have join all you guys but TX is a bit far for me. Loved this video!
Question: What was the name of the town/community that had that huge house and the log houses in the background while y'all were on the side by side excursion?
Great video! It was nice meeting you both at the Lippert event. This is Jim and Patty the 2 non-meat eaters. We are the two people at the beginning of your video. Marisa was always helping us find things we could eat which wasn't always very much, but we are use to that happening. Lippert did ask us before the event if we had any special diet needs, so we were a little disappointed that there weren't that many times where we could get vegan meals. Other than that it was a very fun event. I don't think we will be able to make it to the Texas event it's a long trip for us, and if we go to the Lippert event in October it will be to much for us coming from Washington State. We did a long trip after the Lippert event and had a few things go wrong I put our motorhome in the ditch not once but 2 times back to back. very minor damage to the rig, but the lesson I learned is when doing a long drive day it's better to stop more than to drive and be tired and make mistakes. I like that you share your mistakes because we all can learn from each other. God Bless and Y'all stay safe out on the roads.
Fun Episodic Journey. In Equador, we stood beside a toilet which when flushed in the North the water went from left to right - crossed the line for the toilet to flush right to left. The Continental Divide and Pikes Peak are similar photo ops.
Island Park is my backyard! Truly is the "secret" of Yellowstone. No crowds, open camping, cheaper food, and the West Side of the Tetons is just south of here! "West side is the best side". Idaho is the place to be.
Marisa, I did the same thing three weeks ago, except my "hit" was a tree in my blind spot at night. Still, no excuse and couldn't bring myself to claim insurance for the $2k repair. Happens to the best people! 😁
I can't believe we're going to be in TX 2 hrs from you doing our eclipse thing in Mansfield. We're going there from Western NC. We were within 2 hrs of your rally in upper FL too. I guess we're destined to run parallel to you guys and never intersect. It's going to be a great time there
Another great video, you guys produce entertaining content every single week. Is there a way to attend the Night Light rally without actually camping in the campground with you? For example if we were to stay in an Airbnb nearby? We are considering becoming full-time RVers and we watch your channel and also FOS faithfully, but we haven't pulled the trigger on an RV yet.
We looked into this and currently we haven’t been able to figure out a way for day passes, but that may happen. Another idea it to rent an RV from Outdoorsy or RV Share and make it a learning experience.
