What if someone lost urine sensation but have total control on his legs bladder and bowel. His only symptoms is back pain and siatica pain and loss of urine sensation
I wish I had seen this before surgery. The doctors I saw all said I had to have surgery. I couldn’t walk, and they ended up using coflex . I feel fine, 6 months have gone by but my spine will never be the same.
I am 15 months post op from a L4-L5 fusion ( I had a microdiscectomy in 2018, Fusion of L4-L5 in Jan 2022 and a revision in Jan 2023 due to the cage migrating) - I now suffer from lower back pain and I expected this but I also have numb toes in my right foot, right calve and constant cramping that goes down both my right and left leg. I am worried this isn't normal and I am quite frustrated. Is the severe cramping in both of my legs normal or a complication? I know losing some feeling can happen and I suppose expected after a few surgeries in the same area - just trying to sort out what is considered "normal" or what should be of any concern.
I need at C4-C5 and L4-L5. I am waiting for insurance to clear me for the L4-L5. I have filed grievances against them for not approving it. Hopefully I get approved. I have tried everything.
Trying to get access to your various segments....... I think there are four and I think I've seen one and three. Is there anyway for me to find it online for two and four thank you Ronnie.
An outpatient surgery? Seriously? Good grief. Amending people home after something like this just seems cruel. What has happened to our medical care??? Mothers get sent home after pushing into a watermelon through a hole the size of a quarter and major back surgeries people go home after having metal stick between their spine! It’s got to be about money or insurance becuase thats ridiculous!!!
You’d be surprised! The surgery is really that efficient 😇 I will allow patients to go home that day, some stay overnight! A bit of a 2 way street of what they want and what time we end the 1-2hr surgery
I've had a laminectomy and decompression surgeries several years ago and I am still in pain. I've had four injections that did not help. The doctor is suggesting a nerve block. Do you agree?
My surgeon recommended me a laminectomy but I would like to know another opinion. Degenerative disc changes L3-4 and L4-5 with high intensity zone annular tears and left greater than right annular bulging at both of those levels. Disc bulging has regressed/decreased in size since 5/9/2021, though there is persistent left lateral recess stenosis at both of those levels, potentially irritating the descending left L4 and L5 roots in the lateral recesses.
Hey there, Dr. Donnally does about 15 new patient telemedicines💻 every week. Here is the best path forward: 1- email your insurance card to Spine@TSCspine.com (We don’t take HMOs or Medicaid, but can private pay, unless Medicaid) 2- if we take that insurance THEN upload your images to my portal for your 1st visit. 3- I must have X-rays and MRI, X-rays are critical! “Just” MRI isn’t enough and is a misuse of your time. It needs to be from last 12 months. Nothing older is needed or wanted. 4- You need to get your CD of your X-ray and MRI (imaging centers will never send them to us) 5- On the top of my website (www.DonnallySpine.com) is the link to UPLOAD images, from YOUR HOME! 🥰(or at a CVS with Physician LookUp Code k5037438) 6- To recap: email us, get CDs, THEN upload! Step by step: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HpKOfI_1FSs.html - Again- no HMO, no Medicaid. Must have your X-rays and MRI.
@@DonnallySpineConsult why ??? If I may ask I have read nothing but horror stories about mobility loss and how it damages the above and below disc from being fused I’m not arguing I just really need to know because I’m about to go in for one or the other
@@Vuhjayjay68so this was my issue as well. Apparently, the life span of an artificial disc is only 10-15 years. I thought I wanted the disc replacement but was told that for one, I'm overweight and two, being under 40 and doing the replacement wasn't in my best interest. I'm terrified of having more surgery later after the fusion but at this point, I'm willing to risk it. I've had back issues since 2009 and I finally have a doctor who's going to help me get my life back!!!!! Well at least my back won't be hurting and then next thing is I can get my hip worked on. Not even 40 yet and falling apart 😑
@@TiffanyCaraballoit just worries me with the bone fusion I’m way to active to be dealing with anymore disc issues because I’ve read that the fusion is a lot harder on the disc above and below the fusion and will most certainly cause issues later on

Is this surgery performed in spines with degenerative disc disease? What are basic self-care improvements, if any, can a person with degenerative disc disease do to lessen the daily chronic pain from this disease?

I guess you take your chances. Id defo try to repair your own disc before a replacement, but if that isnt an option then can take chances om a replacement
What’s borderline osteoporosis? Can you have disc replacement or having a whole joint arthroplasty? What about using bone building injection shots is teriparatide is that contra indicated or not?
My surgeon recommended me a laminectomy but I don’t understand why he just say is the better option for me I have L3-4 herniated disk pushing my nerves all way down to the foot all this past 7 years
Kind of depends on the patient. Not a hard set timeline. I would need to see how small of an incision I can do. There’s no reason he couldn’t drive a couple days later but usually it takes some time. Reach out to
Hey Doc. I have a bit of situation. Very long story short, 30 spinal surgeries, first five due to wear and tear sports, etc., last 25 was from a severe spinal cord injury, followed by multiple trauma to my spine, including my titanium rods and screws, snapping three different times, I have a 65° kyphosis in my thoracic as well. I know it sounds crazy, but I want to be able to stand up and be able to walk without feeling like I’m falling forward. As we speak, I’m dealing with a severe staff infection in my lumbar, which has collapsed the fusion and waiting to hear when new post and screws are going in. Cleveland clinic, Tallahassee General, Shands Hospital all set. I have had too many traumas to my spine to help. I can’t take it any longer. I just wanna be able to stand up a little straighterand a little less pain
My mother aged 53 years, has Spine L4-L5 issue, having lot of pain and , used medicines and belt from past 8 months, but there is no use, pain is still same, can we go for surgery?
Your explanations are so easy to understand. Thank you. I am going to have a laminectomy surgery on June 13 th. I look forward to getting it done. My greatest concern is the recovery process. Your presentations have given me confidence in understanding my surgery. My orthopaedic surgery is young like you. He has been practising for eleven years now. I trust his professional knowledge and practice to see me through this. You young surgeons are so open to the latest methods of doing surgery. Thank you for your contemporary approach.
Hey! Just wanted to share that I had a laminectomy from L3 to S1 about 7 weeks ago. Depending on how many levels they are operating on, your recovery could be longer or shorter. For me, I think it should be about 3 to 4 months, but I am already feeling so much better than I did prior to surgery. You got this and I hope you are able to find some relief
I have l4l5 disc herination and fofaninal stenosis in both side .what shall I do ?I'm afraid to do surgery .can it be solved without surgery ?for example using IDD theraphy?I'm from Ethiopia.
I’m suffering from advanced spinal stenosis and can’t walk here in New Hampshire. It’s so important to take calcium when a woman over a certain age. 😢❤ I’m 77
I had both and foraminal stenosis and moderate spinal stenosis and had spinal fusion 7 weeks ago! It’s amazing the technology and hardware the doc put in and how good I feel! No More leg, hip, foot pain from nerve compression.! Plus I had one of the best docs in San Diego do it to it was perfect
I am currently on gabapentin (1200 mg a day- 2 600 mg tablets). What is the typical dosage for maintenance of back pain? I have been diagnosed with the following: L3-L4: 4.6 mm right foraminal disc herniation results in mild to moderate right foraminal stenosis and extends far laterally impinging the exiting right L3 nerve root far laterally [series 9 image 14, series 8 image 13]. Mild central canal stenosis. L4-L5: There is a 2mm broad-based disc bulge resulting in mild central canal stenosis. Superimposed left foraminal disc hemiation measuring 5.2 mm results in moderate left foraminal stenosis and impinges the exiting left L4 nerve root [series 5 image 9, series 8 image 20, series 9 image 20]. L5-S1: 3 mm broad-based protrusion type disc hemiation impinging the thecal sac resulting in mild central canal and mild bilateral foraminal stenosis [series 8 image 17, 18, series 9 image 26]. Mild facet arthropathy. IMPRESSION: 1. L3-14 demonstrates a right foraminal/far lateral disc herniation impinging the exiting right L3 nerve root far laterally. 2. L4-L5 demonstrates a disc bulge with superimposed left foraminal disc hemiation impinging the exiting.

I wish I would have found you two years ago. Hade a laminectomy and spinal fusion T1-T4 and now numb in chest area, saddle, and both legs and feet. I present with additional stenosis in lumbar, L3-L5. Will inquire about non surgical options. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I like to look both sides of the coin whenever I can , so let me say this . I've searched a bit and found like 4 cases + or - that people died after getting "adjusted". Death occurs with strokes . I've yet to find a death caused by a Y-strap . 8 billion people currently alive and only 4 deaths have been documented ? On the other hand if I search for deaths upon surgeries I will not be able to count them all , and i'm not talking about heart , brain , tumor surgeries and such . You keep talking about the chin but nobody pulls with the Y-strap the chin . Also after the y-strap adjustment everybody is talking about feeling relief to the whole spine down to the sacrum . RU-vid is swimming in reactions of people trashing other people who they after trash other people and keeps going . After referring to false details , one after the other about this technique it only shows that you don't really know what you are talking about .
