Nice vid, not my choice of boiler tho - I tend to go for ones with good manufacturer support with their own dedicated service workforce backup. would it have been an advantage to fit a vent on the up and over pipework from the boiler? nice to see a start to finish installation tho.
Thanks for the comment. Sealed system so i did not put one in, it vented a dream luckily fir me!. Hrm do have a guy on the road , His name is Rob but normally are happy to let you repair yourself. If not they send people out like us to repair. Have a good rest of your week mate.

That’s one I did all the time, makes the Boss think you’re working hard😂😂😂 Strange, but I missed the terrible twins, their shenanigans, always keep me amused👍👍 Forgive me for my short post today, I feel somewhat weak......I’d to buy a Round in the Pub last night, which was traumatic in itself, but I was even more horrified to discover they no longer except a White Fiver!!.......I know, the hardship of an ostentatious Jock!! I gave same boiler but a water softener unit added.......the bar is 0.8 so needs topping up... the valve you turn at 22seconds in the clip has no pipe attached would you know what I do...can't add photos of what it looks like on here.....thanks
Hi. you cant fill a heating system with softened water . it has to be mains only water. Maybe get you local engineer to look. Sometimes people disconnect the filling loop and fit somewhere else in the system as well. Have a great week.
Hi Bob love the video can I ask you the riello g5x burner will it run ok on HVO fuel when available or will I need to change parts like pump Nozzle and flex hose my oil tank is 3yrs old .have a nice day😮😅
Hi. If you have a bio oil line then it will be ok and most of the time the pump is is ok. If it has a green seal on the shaft it is ok. Tank also should be ok. You will however need a HVO Nozzle. Thanks for the comment!
Interesting how it should be done. I am wondering how my grant currently has clean , cold water, leaking and the heat exchanger has megatons of soaking soot and or water on each baffle with some of them corroded, pitted and a couple in two halves. Every year someone turns up and brushes and vacuums, so what's gone wrong?
Hi. Thanks for the comment. Its a job to tell with out pictures or looking but sounds like you have a few issues there. I would get your local Oftec engineer to look at it.

Firstly, I hope everyone is feeling better. Not being 100% is a curse when you’re busy. My best advice; though difficult, have a Duvet Day, loads of fresh Orange Juice, snort Obis Oil, plenty water & Max Strength Cold Meds. Viva Espana!!......C’mon Spain!!.... If Engerland win the Euros we’ll never hear the end of it!! It’s like 66, they bribe a Russian Linesman & boom, we’re still hearing about a jammy win, every Engerland game! The twin burner Rayburns are the work of the devil!!.....Every single one we fitted was 💩💩 Builder we worked for, against my advice, fitted one. Two years latter he admitted I was right & scrapped it. We tip for Lee, he looks a lovely bloke, how he ended up working with you Pirates - Gawd alone knows!! Boring Joist then threading Plastic through them, rap the pipe in the Joist with DPC. It kills all the creeping noises. Tell Ryan not to Nick that Rayburn, it ain’t worth it son!! Morning mate. We are all still a bit rough and that was not from the old shandy as lets be honest you were always safe in knowing Spain would win.🤣 That Rayburn was a bit tricky to remove . In the end brut force from myself and not a little tickle did the job ! He did not nick the rayburn as it was to heavy 🤣 Take care mate and great to here from you! xxx😍

Hi. Thanks for the comment. Normally if it is the box then the box smells and the motor is totally dead and the fuse has blown . If the boiler just humms or is noisy then it tends to be the motor. Hope this helps. Rob

Hi again Rob, just spent the morning removing the tankmaster valve (as everything was seized) and I've now managed to split it down into its numerous parts ready for repurchasing. My big query though is the sight tube (ST) and its components and so could you please offer me some guidance? We moved in about 13 years ago and our tank has never possessed a ST......although I do wonder whether one was fitted but has been removed/snapped off?? I have a few questions if I may.....is is the top threaded fitting on the main valve PART of the valve or part of the ST? As we never had a ST the void in the top of the valve was completely open to the elements and is now badly corroded but I've still managed to screw it off leaving clean threads on the main valve body. Does that mean this fitting has snapped off the ST? and so would a new ST come with that new threaded fitting? Linked to this is my other query in that there appears to be a hard rubber ball with a rubber stem protruding from the top 'open' end now that I've removed the threaded fitting. I can't see how any oil would be able to get past/through this rubber component when the ST pull valve is used. Should I be able to remove this rubber ball or, again, is it part of the main valve body? or part of the ST? I hope I've made sense. I don't like asking for help, but I've been trawling the web looking for info on all of an ST's components and a close-up of the main valve body top but can't find anything so I'm hoping you can offer some help. Hi. The sight tube comes with the thread to screw into the body. You need a Atkinson 4ft threaded sight tube complete. The ball is plastic not rubber . You should be able to get it out. There should be a small whole in it. If the unit is in a very bad state change the whole unit. ( Atkinson Tankmaster body complete.) Hope this helps! sorry in delay in replying. @@BartonOilBurnerServices Hi Rob, no need to apologise and thank you very much for replying. Since posting I've been digging/reading around and got to physically view/handle a new ST. Between this and what I've learnt from you I'm content that I understand how the whole thing works. I'll now have a proper go at removing that blanking 'ball'.....if it comes out easily I'll treat myself to a new ST and a 'pull-to-view' valve but if it's stubborn I'm now happy to simply reinstate the whole thing (with a new filter) as it is and continue without an ST (done if for years so nothing new). Sorry for bothering you, thanks for the info and have a lovely time 🙂👍
Hi mate. Very simply fix yes. The nightmare was the space heater broke down at the worst time for us and them as we had a big install on so was trying to sort in evenings as they needed it back for a wedding. Also i dont expect the hose to perish in 12 months!! I dont do the thumbnails so sorry if it threw you a bit. Izzy just picked on words that i said but was meaning of these words were not to do with the repairs! We will be more careful! If that job was a nightmare i will give up!!!!!🤣. Have a good weekend.
Hi, great video just question about the lowest baffle inserts that drop down into the boiler. There is a chamfer cut on these baffles do they go to the front or rear of the boiler? Thanks H
If I had my career over again I would be a home heating engineer. It's very satisfying, now retired, having time to watch professional installations like this. Please keep them coming.
Hi. Thanks for the comment. Normally a coil is when the burner runs for a while and then cuts out. A box or cell or both is when the boiler runs and cuts out after a few seconds. This is all a general rule of thumb! Have a good weekend.
Ah, sorry for my absence chaps!!.....I’m humbled by your concern for my welfare, I’m starting to fill up here & you find me in the peak of health, thank you very much. Hmmmm......My disappearance has been due to my 14 days Bender & Olive kicking me out of Puller Tower. My only refuge being the our Outhouse & Stables. There’s no way to sugar coat it!! However, I’m relieved to inform you, I’m back, all be it, sleeping in one of the Bedrooms in the West Wing. Like in the 60’s, my recollection of the last two week are limited!!....What I do know as factual, Angus(the Chief Constable) & I, had an altercation down the Lodge, resulting in both of us being banned!!.......Gawd knows who’s going to feed the Lodge Goats & I left my Apron in the Ladies Toilets, don’t ask!!.......Angus & I are best of chums again, we watched the Germany v Jockoland game last night. He, as I, did get very emotional at the end. But we did console ourselves with lashings of Irn Bru(made from girders) & some Deep Fried Mars Bars/Chips. Anyway, enough about my good self, hows all you wonderful people?? I see the terrible twins are still at their nonsense!......Ben turned up, late again, away chasing skirt again eh??!! Ryan looks as if he’s been on the Beer, but hey, who am I to judge😮 Has Lee got his head out of that Cylinder Cupboard yet??......We all know what’s stashed behind old cylinder fella......dirty boy!! Another nice install Rob, as always👍👍 I’d of stuck in a Boiler House Boiler, where the Wall Star was sited. Another observation, Ryan could of used 15mm Talon Clips on that 10mm coated? Well must dash, lots of House Wives to service - well needs must, with my conjugal rights being withdrawn.
