Well done on keeping your cool with the women, and carrying on with your day. Honestly when something like that happens to me, it eats away at me for the rest of the day/night. Sometimes they just don’t realise that you are trying to help them. Great content as per!! 👏👏👏

Really enjoying your videos. When your self-employed you’re out there in the field on your own so for me it’s great to watch you having similar days to me! A video showing you actually removing the PTP would be great

Rubble sack round the blender on the grant combi's Contains water nicely. As you say saves danger of getting water on the pump. Great videos btw.

😂 Dealing with customers is sometimes the hard part of the job. Totally agree with you that the boiler is functioning correctly however there is indeed a 3 way valve (Diverter Valve) This rests in hot water mode. So with hot water switched OFF at the programmer and a hot tap open (demand for hot water) the burner will stay OFF but the pump will come on to circulate water from the store round the plate heat exchanger using up the residual heat in the store. Keep up the great work. Always enjoy your vlogs and glad it’s not just me who has awkward customers 😂

Thanks for the comment and yes we all get them 🤣 I knew there was divertor valves on the worcester heatslaves and greenstar heatslaves as have changed them but did not think there was one on this later model. ? Where is it as it may help me in the future?

For some reason I missed this one Rob??!!.......Any Road, thanks as always for all the Tips. It’s funny, it’s usually Tenants that have the biggest gob! It’s them that’ll give out the most grief. Great point about the ‘Parts Changers’, unfortunately, our industry is full of em!! One recently, on a Gas Combi, SIX, yes 6 parts changers have been out at it!! They’d changed practically everything on this boiler. It was a 12 quid Thermistor. These muppets clearly didn’t know how to use a Multimeter or indeed probably didn’t have one. Straight out their 6 week Course Cowboy Course & completely clueless. Great Tips on the Grant👍👍 Lots of luv Dick Puller❤❤ Pass on my luv to Karen, Ryan & Ben. Tell Karen I’ll meet her down Tesco Car Park as usual on Friday. Our clandestine affair is messy, but irresistible!!!

Hi I was wondering how in-depth is the OFTEC course, do they show you how to service each brand of boiler or do you need experience on the field to get that, and if so how do you get someone to be bothered to train you up. I'm a qualified plumber already, can do most thing just haven't serviced oil boilers yet. Great video also 👍
@BartonOilBurnerServices
@BartonOilBurnerServices 8 месяцев назад
Hi. Oftec only show you a basic service which i do not think is good enough. It will tell you the regs though. Once you have your oftec just get out there and you will soon work it out . Going to manufacturers helps as well. Hope this helps.

Hi rob great podcast just wondering how many full oil boiler services would you expect to do in a day thank you
@BartonOilBurnerServices
@BartonOilBurnerServices 8 месяцев назад
Hi. Thanks for the comment. In the winter we only do three each as we get breakdowns on top . In the summer we do 4 each as the breakdown rate is a lot less however if they are all non condensing or Wallstars we sometimes will do a extra one. Hope this helps!

hi mate loving the content... if ya dont mind whats your thoughts on this? 20 year old firebird not firing/motor not turning etc dead;I suggested reset hi limit stat ....he did and it went but then kept having to reset. Anyway went round and replaced the dual stat but its still doing it arrrgh
@BartonOilBurnerServices
@BartonOilBurnerServices 8 месяцев назад
Hi. If you have changed the dual stat then it can only be the boiler is getting to hot. Most common cause is poor circulation. I.e circulating pump not working correctly or at all. The other cause would be air in the system or low/no water pressure/water in the system. Normally this is not a boiler issue. Try turning the stat down on the boiler slightly if the system is working correctly and see what happens. finally the system could be sludged up and teh heat cannot get away from the boiler quick enough? Hope this helps.

If you need any ideas for videos, I like one on removing stubborn fans. I either get them of easy or end up bending them. But keep the videos coming

@@craigwebster7405 There was one time I did end up having to drill out the shaft of the motor, but I'm pretty sure I didn't have my puller that day.

Take the locking screw out and spray WD 40 down the hole, also if you can lock the shaft up and just twist the fan forwards and backward may loosen it. I also carry a spare fan for the most common burners, so if all else fails you can smash it too bits😁👍👍
@BartonOilBurnerServices
@BartonOilBurnerServices 8 месяцев назад
I have never used a puller but i tend to take screw out of fan and wd40 then lock the shaft and twist fan. if the fan breaks i stick one on off the van as they are not to much money but tbh that is rare. Thanks for the comment !
