Thank you. I try and run a mile a day, at my age 73, its reachable. Unfortunately you stopped at 14 mins and 47 secs and it took me 15 mins and 7 secs. So I did the last bit without you.
Thank you so much! I enjoy running with this video, treadmill is set to 5.1 miles to keep up with you. Ran entire virtual 5k following your pace. The scenery is beautiful and reminded me of my home country of Germany, where the trails never end as well :)
Trying to keep up with the pretty running coach is oddly motivating! I grew up on a 7000 acre cattle ranch in Colorado. We ran strings of horses to get back into the more remote areas with our gear. If you wanted to get where you needed to go and still have time to set up camp you had to make pretty good time. Almost all of our horses were large muscular male horses. You would start up the trail with your pack and at first they would jog at a good pace but after awhile they would get lazy and want to walk. You would spent your entire day kicking your horse to try and get them to jog. We had 2 female horses. They were smaller and not as muscular and so usually got left behind. We decided to instead put them as the lead pack horse. They would trot the entire time on their own. It was like they were trying to throw down a challenge to all the stronger male horses “try and keep up boys”. So the larger male horses had longer legs and longer stride. So they would walk and the female horse in the lead would be trotting. Pretty soon the female horse would be way up the trail so all the male horses would jog until they reached the female horse and then start walking again (they would never try to pass them). That was the pace all day walk and jog walk and jog. The female horses jogged all day and never got tired and we made great time with no kicking needed. Doing this I realized I am no different than those large athletic male horses its motivating to try and keep up! I am like “I am not going to let her outrun me today.......(20 minutes later)....ahh defeated again” LOL. Keep the videos coming :)
