Im a bike mechanic (motorcycles) by trade and 45. I very much understand your frustration, had to switch to cars because I can't ride anymore cause of arthritis in knees. I get it. Don't give up:) Keep going with what you love to do, that matters most. Let the jerky behavior of other people fall bt the wayside and don't lose your focus on your passion. The more you work on your passion, the better it gets. I'm getting a '65 mercury comet 4 door with a 289 redone (automatic) atm and made it my daily more or less (budget consierdations). It's less worth than a two door but it's what I can do to be apart of classic car shows I enjoy. Also, there are some car ladies at classic car shows I've found. I was part of a classic car club that had afew that were older than me. But they are there. I learned alot from them but largely faced alittle of the struggle you've had, much more when I was younger. Going to car meets and shows to find other car ladies is like a needle in a haystack but they are there. Facebook or Instagram might be the quickest way to connect with other car ladies then do a meet-up with afew if they don't live too far away from you. Just a thought and just saying:)

I dont think its fair or right to lump all men in to one group. I am a bmw master tech. Ive worked with many women over the years and never even thought about sex. I talk them just like i do the men. And i expect the same thing from women as i do the men.. Do your job. Do it well. And always come to me if you don't know something or have a question, don't just guess. Women in the car industry is growing every year more and more.. So it's expected to see more women.Turning branches now than ever before So it's expected to see more women turning wrenches now more than ever before and me having to work with them. And as a woman I expect you to come to me if anyone is giving you a problem in any type of way. But also if i'm to treat you like the guys I also expect you to stand up for yourself and give them boys hell if you have to. But it's definitely not fair for you to sit here and say all men in the automotive business are predators towards all women coming into the industry. And also Nissan, sucks. By the way, sorry, just had to throw that out there.
I disagree. I think it is fair and right to ask a male dominated community to stop sexual advances when she simply just wants to have a hobby and make friends. Sir I think her points went over your head because you were too busy defending yourself. Her video/ rant showcases the toxicity in our society and specifically the car community. As a fellow technician our response should be how can I spot this toxicity that she is experiencing in her life and prevent this from occurring at the workplace? I hope if a woman comes to you with a problem about harassment from a male coworker you don’t tell her to go stand up for herself. This is exactly the type of toxicity she is talking about in male dominated workplaces.
You should take off the wing and spray paint those holes before rust begins to build as the metal is exposed. You can mask the trunk and just paint the holes but please do soon. If not you’ll cry later lol
I seriously don't understand the thought process of a female being into cars equals a chick that likes sex? A female that's into cars...... is into cars. I would seriously hate to think a female who is into cars gets turned away from the culture because she's in car culture.
