You have the Mac Pro 3,1 which is really very slow. I am now using the dual Xeon 5690, 12 core Mac Pro 5,1 using 96 GB 1333 RAM, and an NVMe 2 x SSD on PCIe, dual boot, macOS and Windows 11 Pro. With OpenCore the dual boots work native on the machine. No Boot Camp and no emulator needed. I have Radeon RX 6800. With this I can play Red Dead Redemption 2 with all graphics on Ultra, and still get good frame rates. It will give good performance on pretty well all current games. For a 15 year old machine, that is pretty good.
Bootcamp is a pain in the butt sometimes. You could always try and run it in compatibility mode for 98, 95 or Vista from within the properties of your game file. Anyway, it was a fun video and seeing the process is quite fascinating. Good work.
The reason my pc crashed and blackscreened with the fans blasting was bcs of the video drivers and the video card did not receive enough power from the psu. Maybe this is one of the reasons
I purchased a diamond holesaw that is stuck in at the chuck. I cant and the chuck doesnt open. Any idea why? Theres no arbor with this holesaw, it has a bit end.
Thanks for this clear and detailed video explanation! My Model M stopped working properly when I tipped a glass of wine over it 😖 so I'm going to have a go at cleaning it up when it's dried out. 🤞 I found a narrow 5.5mm socket on line at Amazon - BGS 10503 | Socket, Hexagon, deep | 6.3 mm (1/4") Drive | 5.5 mm - for GBP 2.84. No worries!
Note that if you get the AppleTalk LocalTalk adapters, those use the printer port. Also for DIN ports the Mac should be turned off when connecting or disconnecting the cables.
Pointless video.. what is the point of reviewing an ortho acoustic speaker when you don't place them as they were intended. And why not research the speakers first.. Carlssonplanet has all there is to know on them
Super awesome. You’re amazing. As an electronics engineer & Mac user since 1984, I have to say your hacking skills brought memories AND great admiration for your creativity.
Funny I was about to warranty my 1 year old drill. Then it says chucks are not covered along with a huge list of other things. Pretty much nearly the entire drill lol
Awesome job on the repair, looks amazing.. Now you can use the nifty throwing handle near the back to launch it off a tall building into the abyss.. I always presumed that's the point of those handles at least.
I know it’s pricey… but can I send my childhood T1950CT from California to wherever you are? Same issues… but… disabled and can’t really repair it on my own! Would also be cool to see you running MenuetOS and/or KolibriOS on it! ArcaOS for OS/2, WIN32, WIN16, Linux subsystems…. NetBSD for a lightweight BSD?! (Or OpenBSD). And then… games?! And external monitor?! For all of the above?!
Sorry mate, I don’t offer a repair service. Best to find an electronics technician in your local area and ask them to replace the caps in the power supply board.
Many thanks Sir, this your hommage to our own SWE Stig's speakers, and you all the way from the Antipodes! And a contest to you, dear followers, you just try your best to find a sexier speaker - new or vintage - than a pair of these, carefully restored all the way with new surface treatment of the veneer and everything! And then comes its sound - where does this wiiide sound really come from? - Jezzzs. What have the loudspeaker engineers been doing during these 50 yrs?
@@TheBasementChannel I'm very honest now, mate, me getting a tear in me eye, with you coming from down under talking so sweetly about our Stig and his most modest speaker model, he that left us in the late 90s ☺
@@TheBasementChannel He was; "My speakers are designed to do their thing in ppls homes - not in anechoic chambers" was his motto. He labelled his speakers OA for ortho acoustical of that reason (ortho being Greek for 'right/correct'). Still, he considered the more modest OD-11s being somewhat on the low side, so OD here for ortho directional, a kid brother, like. Svara
I fixed one yesterday. I recapped it and it didn’t fix my speed variation problem. What did fix it was spraying contact cleaner on the on/off speed switch. Right after that it held the speed correctly.
NewtonOS 1.x worked much better with cursive. 2.x's improved handwriting recognition was more optimized for standard "print" writing. 2.x's handwriting engine is the same one present in iPadOS today.
Excellent Job, and about the only other way is to cut it off, but that is really dicey, and I would only do it on an older nastier drill. Your drill here is in like new condition. DeWalt should be ashamed on this whole drill chuck issue, but it looks like newer drills have improved, at least in the case of runout issues. Put a Rohm chuck on it next time! Peace! 👍
The two issues with this old table. The Dearing ring which sits directly under the tonearm gimble( they break) second, the stauerpimple a tiny rubber cup on a post that the lifting paddle moves to set the tonearm down -lift at end of record. I'm working with some engineers on the ring replacement. Also, the cartridge sled ( where connections from cart to tonearm are made) goes really bad on wiring. There are sellers on ebay for new sleds.
I bought them from SiliconInsider on Tindie.com They produce great quality stuff. It’s 60ns RAM which is faster than recommended for the Mac Plus but they seem to work without issue.
