Nice review Gio, with some great photos. Since shooting jpeg only, are you leaving photos SOOC, or are you editing the jpegs in LR or other app? If the latter, how are the jpeg files to work with?
I’ll be honest man, I very rarely edit any images from the ricoh. If I do it’s very minor color/exposure corrections. The jpg files are fine but i’ll admit I wouldn’t recommend for heavy edits
Look into Zorki LTM lenses. Very good quality for much much less vs Canon or other LTM. Quality as good? Don't know as I don't have any Leica or Canon glass, but it is wallet friendly and they work well.
I was holding out for the GR4 which i thought would be released this year, seems like thats not going to happen, plus i guess when they do release the 4 it will be as hard to get hold of as the X100's. I keep being put off by stories of dust on the sensor so appreciated your take.
Nice video. I never had any experience of Canon back in the day, but became interested in them about 10 years ago. I have 5 of these, they can be bought in good shape for $100 if you're patient. Unbelievable.
For how many fire street photos that get pumped out of this camera under #grsnaps it's a legendary camera. If you get dust on the sensor, you can remove the dust easily in photoshop - there's a specialized tool for sensor dust removal that photographers use all the time on their 10 year old DSLRs. Great video!
Great review! Appreciate the long term perspective amidst a sea of 1 week gut reactions. You pretty much convinced me to buy one a while back (went with the gr iiix) and have loved just always tossing it in a bag. Constantly surprised by the image quality and snap focusing on the fly is fantastic.
@miam1074 what makes you see it that way? Have you used/are you using the Ricoh gr? Because what you are saying is something I thought as well. But owning cameras with tilt and view finders - I think having less mechanic in it is a good thing. Also not having a viewfinder. You can add one, if you really want to (there some available) - but using it in fast situations, knowing the lense very well, I actually don't miss a view finder at all ..
@@anybodyshoots that`s not true. body of this cameras made from magnesium alloy from 2005 (first Ricoh GR digital) till this day. battery door plastic? maybe. some buttons plastic? yep.
Love the ideas and what you covered! It’s always cool to see how much that camera can do! I’ve contemplated getting one but never could find one so I’ve waited haha maybe one day! For now all my other cameras will do 😂 can’t start hoarding too many now
Oh... definitely shoot raw+jpeg. You have a great eye... you're bound to get a call someday from some entity wanting a large print of something you've shot. Having a jpeg only could limit where that photo could eventually end up in the future. Cheers bro!! 🤜🏾🤛🏾
Hey there, what a great showcase comparing the two. I was looking for a video on the 3L and chose this one, but you convinced me to get the 6L! I got one question, at around 7:45 you show the inside. I can see that it's split into 3 compartments. Do you know if it's possible to remove them individually? So basically, to make it into 2 instead of 3 compartments? I ask cause I wonder if I can fit my Canon AE-1P body with 50mm lens + another 70-210mm lens. I reckon if it's possible to remove 1 of the sides, it should just about fit, but I dunno.
Got this camera from my dad. The LCD died, so i couldn't use it anymore. Luckily, i got it repaired. Great camera. As an amateur, this camera is very forgiving in automatic settings and takes great photos. I really like it compared to my full manual camera (canon ae1).
I am ready to push the button on the 6L model, but one thing that really bugs me is that in your vid you put the bag over your shoulder severat times and each time the broad shoulder pad sits on your chest with the thin strap on the shouilder!!! This does not look right or comortable and if this is how it sits then it is a deal breaker for me

I had both versions of the F1 and some lenses, but sold them off a few years ago to help fund an extensive Pentax 67 collection. I shot with F1's through the 80's into the mid 90's. I am tending to consider getting a Nikon F2 soon.
PSA: the most common fault with the T2 is the lens flex cable breaking - you can buy brand new replacement flex cables from china. As you mentioned there are still a few places willing to fix them, many of which do amazing work. Love the video man! If your T2 ever dies on you, have hope!
Dope photos at the end.. Subscribed !!! Man I be so worried about them cameras, and the battery fizzing out, or the heat zapping them cameras lol.. Have had a few film point and shoots and it just never ends well lol.
This is hands down, my favorite point and shoot and one of my favorite cameras in general. I LOVE the way it renders images and the color saturation is fuckin aces. -- I just sent mine out to get the LCD repaired.. will report back once I get it and see that it's all good. Hello. I would like to ask for your advice. Right now I'm interested in the Canon VI and P. I can't decide since they're both beautiful. Which one should I choose? And is there a 50 mm 1.4 chrome lens and is it expensive? Or is there any substitute?
