I sold 1000usd prints made with the Xpro1 sensor only 2 years ago. It works great for professional photography. I even took the images with a 20usd Konica Hexanon 40mmF1.8 from 1979.
I recently gave my daughter an X-E1 (same 1st gen X-trans sensor as X-Pro1) with this lens on it. It produces some wonderful images and I can totally relate to how you feel. In fact so much that I decided to get another X-E1 for myself.
I love my xpro1! I’ve had it since new and will never sell it. Just bought an XH2 but it doesn’t have the soul that the xpro1 does. Pair it with an old film lens with an adaptor…absolute winner
Today I bought one in the second-hand market for $200. The side-axis viewfinder is very interesting, mainly its appearance level is very good, and the shutter texture is also very good
First time watcher and commenter here, I’m a BIG fan of this concept! I have a Leica M8 with a cheap 7Artisans 35mm that I use with the camera for that analogue experience without the price of carrying an M3 and several rolls of film around (plus the internal meter is a nice plus). Regarding the X-Pro1: I haven’t had the pleasure of using one, but my X-Pro3 with a Mitakon-Zhyongi 35mm f/0.95 or the same 7Artisans 25mm f/1.8 never leave my side. That little 25 is an amazing lens for the cost, and I’ve taken some of my favorite family pictures with my copy. It may not be the most clinically sharp lens out there, but the results are amazing (especially for those of us that learned on - and still shoot - vintage film cameras)!
Just picked up the xpro 1 a couple days ago for a good deal with the 23mm f2 because I have some trips coming up and wanted something low key to capture moments. Appreciate this video
very very much like Your approach and Your comments on the Fuji Xpro 1 and fotography in general. i recently bought this camera and i m totally happy with it. nb. vienna.
Could I go buy the latest version of the X-Pro? Yes but I don’t. I love my X-Pro 1. They are great cameras. I keep the 23 f2 on mine full time. This little gem got me out & shooting again.
I got this 25 mm lens It’s amazing one even though it’s not perfect But it made me a better photographer I use it with the XE-1 I am having a plan to get the XPro 1 but first I have to find a good used one …
Bought that exact combo on marterplace a year ago for $475. I sold it for the XE1 which to me is better with the same shutter and same xtrans. And it has a flash !
I definitely saw this exact camera on marketplace lol. Fun video, glad you got nice stuff from that lens! I feel like if the distance markers were accurate (so I could range focus) I’d like it a lot more than I do. Definitely better than you’d expect for the cost.
Your discourse speaks volumes to me because I've come a long way to reach the same conclusion as you. Getting back to the feeling that it's easy to make a photo and that it can't (necessarily) be perfect to look good. Your video won't be seen much and probably not shared much, the problem is that the truth isn't sexy and you're probably right before others understand. I hope the translation from French to English is fair enough for you to understand me.
comments like these mean everything to me and one of the main reasons i haven’t deleted my youtube channel yet 😂 thank you so much for watching and leaning a comment
Yeah the display is garbage but!! Press DISP button and select the page where the back screen shows only important settings such as shutter speed and iso. And this way you will look only through your OVF/EVF because you disabled live view through the display. This is an even greater film experience. Especially if you set the display brightness to -5, this low res screen doesn’t bother you at all.
