Two questions- does the tidal section of rekordbox get added to your complete track collection? Do you have to have WiFi in order to play from the tidal section of rekord box?
I learned to DJ without using headphones which I know sounds kinda crazy but I would always just use my eyes and knowledge of my tracks to mix on rekordbox or on newer cdjs. I only used headphones if I needed to mix tracks I didn't know. So imagine how horrified I was when I got to a show and they had 2000s with those horrible disgusting rectangles that are almost impossible to mix with visually and I was absolutely cooked. Every cool transition and Hard mix I had were all scrapped by the 5th track and I was either beat matching the easiest tracks I had or relying on the emergency hot cues I always put on the impact after the dj intro LOL. Taught me to start using headphones more and bring them to gigs even if I don't use them.
Sorry but the hot cue lagging on the 3000 is a configuration issue not an issue with the unit we have no issues with it at all you just need to read the manual properly and fully understand how the 3000 works.
rekordbox using limiter on master channel and you cant switch it off. so often sound is ducking while 2 channels are playn. what pio engineer thought that is fucking great idea to not control this feature. this is sooooo lame

REKORDBOX HACK HERE: 1.- you can go to all collection section, select one song to the first deck and then play. 2.- then while playing, go the the playlis section and press crtl+L to show the playing song now and then it shows all collection songs and the playlist section so you can drag your songs from all collection to any playlist. Anyway i did not like too much rekordbox 7
Luckily I started with the 1000MK3 so we didn’t have any of these features we had to do everything manually and by ear! Also if you didn’t prep properly your hot cues and loops you would have screwed up your whole set no quantize no sync, nothing lol
Hi Chris, just been watching many of your vids, because if all goes well I'll have 2 CDJ3000s coming at the beginning of october. I know big IF at the moment. Anyway that aside. Thanks a lot for all the really really helpful videos. I'm in the same situation as you were. I have 650 playlists and over 10'000 tracks in Itunes. Coming from Traktor I never bothered building a Tarktor Library, because let's face it, Traktors Library still sucks after 100 years. Unfortunately the Music apps Library is getting worse with each update and has been for a while now. So I will watch this video twice, take notes, and start on recordbox. From Scratch. :-))))) THX a lot
@@ReallyChrisM thanks a lot. I've been busy with tags and colouring systems. After watching the Masterclass vid of Pioneer on the CDJ3000 I was able to see parts of how you can filter in different ways. I'm adjusting my Recordbox Tagging and Traffic Light to how CDJ3000 works, or can work. One thing I'm not sure about is filter by Release Year of tracks. That would be quite cool because in between I could filter to find an old banger which would match the other criterias of the playing track. Do you have any ideas of how to implement the Release year into the filtering system of the CDJ3000?
If you have something like a DDJ-1000 or FLX10 they are the closest you are going to get to a CDJ feel - otherwise not really. You could try spilling beer on them though
I can just see you hate rb as much as i do! 😛 switched recently from traktor to follow the infamous industry standards (i spin jungle and sometimes faster bpms) and just couldn't believe how wacky it is in terms of analysis. Thanks a lot for ALL your content! Not having the patience nor time to manually adjust almost every single track (even with keyboard shortcuts), i invested those 24€ in djcu to import everything from traktor to rb, my time and mental health are more important 😅
The only problem with this, is that I want 5A to show as 5A - Cm. Because then I check wether it's Cm or not by playing a Cm. Else I need to remember what the hell the key of 5A is. Just notate both. I've done this ever since I've been using RekorDBox anyhow. This isn't very helpful to me.
