I brought a set of knives for £100 and were perfect but dulled very quick. Recently I got Victorinox for less then £20 and are still nice and sharp, the only issue I have if the handles are a laminate plastic and they tend to delaminate slightly. Not a huge issue as it's easily removed.
You had me moving away when you mentioned influencers. If these promote it's normally for the money not because they believe in the product. Thanks for the review. I'll check out your other reviews to see what you think is best.
I have owned over 30 years EVERY brand of professional knife out there-and Mercer are legit, and hold up-but any knife used in a busy kitchen HAS to be kept sharp, clean and maintained to stay useful, rotating a few favorite chef knives helps, and if only one person does the sharpening, the angle or bevel stays consistent, keeping it in action, and its shape wont change to much over time.Damascus steel is what many higher or shitty but sold as higher end knives are made from these days but are brittle and can be a pain in the ass to hone, stainless stays inert unreactive but hard as hell, and carbon steel i l,ove but reacts and stains food, knife and hands-use whatever gets you good results and cuts easily, and without much force.manmy times its a crappy cutting surface that kills knife edges, or poor knife skills.
I’ve never heard of this brand before this weekend, I was at buddies house and saw it. Looked rad, mentioned it and he asked if I could sharpen it for him, I enjoy making knives sharp. This thing can’t hold an edge worth a shit. When it would start to shape up, the edge would just start popping off chunks, super frustrating which led to the interwebz to see wtf I was working with. Well now I now.
Would have been better if you had shown it in everyday kitchen use, would it be value for money despite the exaggerated claims? Still a great video. BTW JML are the worst I have seen on TV for exaggerated claims. Soon as you see JML DON'T BUY!
It works!, (maayos na gamit ), normal used knives just needs 10 passes each end, 20 the most in my experience . Since it's inexpensive, I bought 3, for my car tool box.for my fishing tackle box, and for my kitchen. Ciao!,
I have a Husk knife. I never paid attention to the "never needs sharpening" nonsense. I will agree it's awkward for cutting. However one area I find it actually excellent at, is boning & fileting. It's curve & handke actually really help with either task. So odly enough I kept it, for that sole purpose 😂
Is the forged steel in the cookie cutter knives at the cutting edge . . . different than the forged steel in the knives . . . marketed as forged steel knives ?
Taiwan makes alot of good quality machinery. I think you should check your facts before you impune a 'nation' far more technologically advanced than your post-industrial homeland.
With that hole in the middle like that- I would not be surprised if this knife has been made out of old circular saw blades. There are loads of DIY knife makers on RU-vid that make very similar blades. The price point on these pieces of shit makes me very suspicious.
They've changed the name... again. Now they're calling it Matsato... same knife. They are making the preposterous claim that it is hand made by Samurai swordmasters.
