Hello Mary, I watched (in the UK) all your episodes on Instagram and have happened across them here on RU-vid, years later. I echo the messages of thanks for leaving them here for us to tap into - they never fail to lift the spirits! Thank you…PS, is that a ‘We Travelled So Far’ tour t-shirt you’re wearing in this one? I’ve still got mine! x
Been listening to the Transatlantic session version and loving it. Now I’m listening to the solo version, loving it! Love this tune, and Mary Chapin Carpenter.
Thanks, again Mary Chapin. I have been unable to catch any of your live concerts. Legally blind really limits travel. Pretty much anyone I know who travels by plane comes home with COVID. My chances are not good with that. And the folks in the medical facilities where I volunteer to play and sing (memory care, assisted living, hospitals) wouldn't like it. God bless!
Good song. I associate this with a friend I never met in real life. They introduced me to the positive process of sending out to the universe! I first heard this song some time after that introduction...
When I became aware of her CD "Hometown Girl" in Frankfurt at the beginning of the 90s, M. C. Carpenter was part of the crème de la crème of the music scene. Timeless, sometimes slow, sometimes fast, her works & this with her enchanting voice. Love 💚 Greetings! 👋👋. 🐅
After 4 years, I'm so glad you've not removed these "Songs From Home" from YT. I'm going thru and watching them all again. They'll never get old. You Rock Girl !
Mary, I don't know if you ever look at your comments in here, but I would like to cover this song next time I perform. I was just curious, but what do you have your guitar tuned down to? If Im not mistaken your 6th string is a C open in this piece, correct? Are you also tuned down quite abit? I'm a guitarist and I have worked with a lot of world class guitarist, but Im also a singer-songwriter, but I am not performing much currently, due to a health issue. I've always admired your work.
Thank you so much for this gorgeous little song. Your voice and that sweet guitar lift this (and all who hear it) heavenwards - what a sublime talent you have Mary.
saw you a few years ago in Scottsdale and loved it. Was hoping you'd play my favorite song, but alas. It's one I can listen to a million times and never tire of it. thank you
