Id rather go back to what it was as I used it for captions, how do I got back to when I press the arrow button it makes sound because now its quiet when I scroll across with mouse or arrow keys.
Moin, for once an introduction to Spatial Video and FCP. Unfortunately, from the transition (from 9:07) it is unclear to me where the effects (selection) for SBS video and over-under video come from. Also, the settings in FCP are too fast or jumpy. I use FCP 10.8 but not Compressor.
I'm finding same between Removal and Keyper - different tools for different clips but both useful if proper prep. RotoMatic new in town with no subscription but requires fast mac as tried demo. more tools : )
The new Smooth Slow Mo feature is amazing, super fast compared with Topaz/Apollo while more or less same quality, in my test, Topaz sometimes better, sometimes FC better, so very similar! Cant wait for them to add a proper Dnoise AI and Upscaling AI tools!!
Thanks for the info! Nice to hear of a comparison. Yeah, it's pretty amazing IMHO and… "FREE"! 😉 I'm actually quite happy with the results of the Denoiser. I've only gone elsewhere - e.g. Neat - maybe _once_ and that was for a super specific and bad clip. Just not sure it was worth my time in the end setting it up for what the results were. In case you haven't seen it… ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x5ATDhPHa6E.html
@postpros-e Sorry my comment was sent twice :/ The included FC noise reduction filter is good enough! but still using the old and cheap trick of just contrasting edges for sharpening… Neat video can do a better job for both de-noising while sharpening edges in a better way, it also has anti flicker light, which is amazing. More complicated to use and longer renders, but much better results when you get use to it. And then there is Topaz Video AI, like the father of all of them, differentiates between compression blocking and grain noise, and using AI to preserve outstanding edges while de-noising… the results are just incredible, another level, but rendering times are exxxxcessive. 1h 4k could be 4-5 days of rendering in a Mac Studio M1 Max
@@rogfol Don't get me wrong. I'm certainly not saying that FC's denoiser is the best you can get. Just for the comparative SPEED - there really is no comparison - and PRICE 😉 it's my go-to for the vast majority of tasks, but I'm also not a pixel-peeper. Again, assuming it's not an extreme case and there _aren't_ any of your aforementioned issues as well. In which case for deflickering I use De:Flicker and will use a different sharpener if needed, too. So yeah… there are options, which is great! *_Every_* solution is a give and take. One uses whatever works best for the task at hand. 👍🏼 Cheers!

Hi Robin, you are the one who has best explored all the new features of FCPX, especially those related to the scrolling timeline. Congratulations and keep it up, your videos are very interesting.
@@postpros-e just in case and because the phone can. No apple vision here (yet) but I do have an older TV in the den that can do 3-D so I keep thinking I’d try it there but hadn’t gone through the thinking of how to encode it to get it on the TV …. Seeing the compressor settings in the vid gave me an idea.
Any time! And funny enough, I literally had taken that part back out at one point thinking it was too long and "Surely everyone knows about this already…" 😄 Very happy to hear that it didn't go unnoticed! Cheers!
SUGGESTION: First thank you for this video its very informative and much needed... kudos to you... I do have one suggestion, It seems like you have color graded your videos.. and the desktop/final cut pro window when you are showing us the software its so dark... for a minute I thought it was my monitor and and had to compare it to others... and yes your videos are much darker... please consider not dimming the screen you are showing as this is why people are watching your videos... thanks again for the great content... here another video for comparison how bright it is.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lC5qQWyTuZ0.html
Hey, thanks for the feedback! I believe the issue is that the clips are *HDR* and the RU-vid conversion is somehow dimming them down, because the originals are as they should be (at 75%). Watching them in HDR should be fine. I'll probably have to switch to using 100% HDR luminance rage from now on, which I don't usually like to do. Oh well. Thanks for watching!
@@postpros-e That would explain why the screens are DIM.... Well thanks for listening to your viewers... you have great content and well produced... thanks again...
Are you an iPhone 15 Pro/Max (or above) or even Vision Pro owner? Have you already shot spatial videos and have wondered what to do with it? What are you most excited about creating with spatial video? Have you tried any other methods or apps for processing spatial footage? Let us know in the comments below! Thanks for watching and leave us a like and subscribe if you learned something that you maybe haven't seen elsewhere. 😉

Brother, you have no idea how much time this saves me during editing and how long I’ve been looking for this. I’m sincerely thankful because I edit long interviews so the constant scrolling becomes a pain after a while. I’m very thankful.
Great tutorial! And you posted it in HDR too!! The FCP conform features are so amazing and make it very easy to combine both SDR and HDR footage. Thanks for the helpful tutorial.
Hi Robin, I really like the way you explain things, but I miss something. I work with .ifc files due to my work. I would like to see my models on my Apple Vision Pro and therefor would like to change the ifc-files into .usdz files. However I don't find a converter or anything else that converts my .ifc files or if I found something it loses it textures. Do you have an idea how to solve this?
Thanks! Glad you liked it and I hope it helped anyway. I've never had to deal with .IFCs, unfortunately. So I can also just google possible solutions, such as this: cadexchanger.com/ifc-to-universal-scene-description/ I would also think that e.g. Blender can open .IFCs? In which case you could try using it to them export directly to USD(Z)? Hope that helps!
It's definitely better than it used to be but there's an insane performance penalty when you have both originals/optimized and proxy files present and big libraries (say, 5 000 clips or more). Unless everything is on solid state storage, which is simply not always possible (easily 10-20TB projects), the HDD or HDD RAIDs grind endlessly on every edit. From what I see in the filesystem monitor; FCPX checks everything over and over again for some reason. It's not a project, hardware or settings issue AFAIK, and I'm not alone in this. I'm real world large projects, proxy workflows are still very problematic.
Sorry to hear. I can't confirm, unfortunately. Have had the described scenario a few times and never seen that. I can only assume it's an I/O or even plugin issue. 🤷🏼♂️ Hope you figure it out!
As someone already asked: If i dont have any project on process, do i need to Backup my Libraries too? or can i just backup my actual FCP version compressing it, then try the new one and it doesnt work i can go back to my older version with the compressed file? Thanks for your time :) again, is it posible to skip the Libraries backup if we dont have any project to finish?
Hey! Sorry, somehow I'm only now seeing your comment. Whether you do or not is of course up to you. But you should have FC's own backups of older projects, just in case, too. It's mainly important to back up RUNNING projects, yes. But then one should never update before they are done, either way. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
bei mir erscheint diese maus nicht mit der Feder dran. mit dem plus. nur ein normaler cursor. habe auch von dem clip alle Effekte ausgestellt usw. wie bekomme ich die Feder
Thanks for the tutorial ! I’m struggling with ProRes Raw footage. I’m wanting to put my LUT on it, but on HLG projects. i made Raw to log conversion, then put my LUT bit it gets funky It was working before 10.7. Any new things to do with 10.7 and ProRes raw files ? Thanks 🙏🏼
