All my life this guy has been around. Always in and out of the Sea Angler Magazine ,How can anybody possibly not like him, so happy, so enthusiastic- He loves it :-)
It looks to me to be the Rapala J11 or J13 blue and Silver? Ed would probably agree with me that it is one of the classic plugs. I took ten bass in twenty minuets form the shore at Clovelly ion North Devon. They are good off wrecks taking bass for the Ninrod SA to fourteen pounds and another good lure to have is the Rapala in black and silver as this is has sometimes got the edge. Hope this is of some use to you.
He seems like an absolutely top top bloke, and respectful skilled angler to boot!! Catch and release all the way. Loved the video, keep having fun dude. Good man.
He is a cracking bloke, will help anyone out and does very well in the local Cornish matches fishing all methods, I recomend his double dvd set, spoilt for choice volume 1 & 2 which you can get from Padstow angling centre.
Great spot @ dawn, as is behind the Minack theatre @ Pothcurno. Certainly seems to be more happenning there at the mo. SAFETY NOTE. LEAVE MOUNTANEERING TO THE MOUNTAINEERS. KEEP AT LEAST ONE HAND FREE, PREF TWO IF CLIMBING IN THESE AREAS. TRY & ATTACH RODS TO RUCKSACK & KEEP ALL KIT IN BACK PACKS, ESPECIALLY IN THE DARK. ALSO WEAR BOOTS WITH GRIP NO WELLIES. DONT FORGET BREW KIT.
you dont know how much i love this clip.its seven mins but you learn so much from it.i watch it over and over again.i want that lure.i think its a rapala.i am a begginer and addicted to fishing now.love his accent too.i am a londoner.i fish in brighton.i would love to find a place with rocks like that.think i will take a trip to cornwall very soon.
AS I sit eating my toast its so nice to watch this action. Saturday morning cold and wet outside but in here its nice. Thanks for a great and very informative video
maybe not off the rocks on a choppy day like this. you could if it were calmer, otherwise you could do it off a dinghy. there are some devon lads on youtube that use surface poppers.
When Will you be making a new DVD? I have all the rock hopping videos/DVD and find them very helpful and good to watch. When's the next one going to be?
i would rather catch a few smaller fish like these wich are plentiful around our coast than one big one in a session more fun and there is always a good feeling watching them swim off again
Bloody bewdy me ansums 👍 Love the enthusiasm, reminds me of my mate who passed away,he was Cornish as they come too and the very definition of fishing mad - lived for it.
This guy used (poss still does?) write for Sea Angler magazine, he certainly knows his stuff & seems to enjoy his bass fishing.......don't we all though? :)
Every book I've read tells you to vary the retrieve and reel slowly for bass. Ed seems to quickly reel in at a constant speed - so can anybody tell me (as a newbie) what's the best method?
Does anyone where about in Cornwall he was? I’ve got a couple of holidays in and around New Polzeath which seems to better known for surfing than fishing or am I wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
anybody tell me what mark this is?! im in cornwall and cant picture they bay hes at anywhere... anybody else down here, hellford passage is also good for bass too
I have plugged ilfracombe rocks for two years on the trot and never caught 1 bass, fast retrieve slow retrieve iv tried it all 200£ on lures nothing......
The only place I had hit was at fowey in Cornwall summer 2 years ago. it was early June I went to ilfracombe I tried every type of lure nothing every type of retrieve nothing even the bloke at the tackle shop said no bass are being caught. I even went out on a boat and caught nothing but dogs.
Cudden point, best way to descibe it. "The bit that sticks out most, oppopsite Mousehole in Mounts bay. Map = Lower Kenneggy. if you find out where "Car boot" is in rosudgeon on Wednesdays, take the long & winding track down to right before "Car boot / Cricket ground". First time I went down toPrussia Cove & walked arround, long scenic route. You'll find a tiny dairy and a Foly, type manor at the end, with a camp site & car park at the end. Use Bridal path @ entrance to car park 4 direct route.
