Before people get mad let me just say that I completely understand your criticism towards this movie, but I love this movie to death. I love how rob zombie explored the psychology of Laurie in the movie because Rob's first Halloween was supposed to be telling the story of Michaels decent into madness but tbh he didn't do a great job of showing that. But in this movie he showed in spades the decent into madness of Laurie strode and I love that. I also love what they did with Myers like him not wearing his mask because him not wearing and only puting it on when he's gonna murder someone gives the mask a purpose which I find very cool. also him grunting and stuff I think gives him a human edge and adds the to the brutality of the kill which I think is very cool. Rob zombies disgusting dialogue that was in the first movie gets toned way down in this one which I enjoy because it was unbearable in his first movie. Now this movie isn't perfect and I get peoples hate towards it but I love this movie. Even though it weird and different, I love how he tried something new because I would rather have you try to be different and fail rather than just wash, rinse, repeat.
Michael Myers doesn’t need a psychology dive. He’s just evil. Especially the most GENERIC look into a serial killer psyche, from the most armchair psych understanding of it. Wrong franchise to do that with. What would have been different is…. Not making it at all… and he ruined Laurie
@@BloodGuyReviews I do agree that explaining Michaels backstory was the wrong way to go and I wish he didn't because it ruins Michaels mystique. But I love the way he made Laurie. Especially the directors cut version where she's angry and is snapping at Annie. Yeah, it makes her unlikeable but after what she's gone through and the fact that Michaels body went missing, its not surprising that she's mentally fucked up. Also the reveal where she founds out that she's Michaels sister by reading Loomis book in her car was brilliant I think. We never had that revelation scene in any other movie so her finding out alone in her car was great and heartbreaking
Sorry I haven't been watching I have been busy I've started my own horror RU-vid channel but I do love your reviews I love even your rant reviews because I can tell that you wanted the movie to be just as good keep up the good work.
I got it on bluray the other month. And I saw this film in like 1990, mum and dad put it on, was like 4. Lol. Still has a special place in my heart. And that's what the narration at the beginning sounds like, very close.
So what about Zombieland, or the Dawn of the Dead remake?…. Infected Zombies, don’t be an elitist. They both have no other motive than to hunt humans. But thank you?
Wait, what??? He took his life? Before the film was even released? He was actually the hero of the film! As someone who battles depression himself, that absolutely breaks my heart.
I first saw this, late 80s. I was assistant manager of a video store! I've seen it maybe twice since then! Quite shocking and funny in places!.Gross at best! Meat tenderiser scene and the nipple scene!
As someone who absolutely loves the first movie. I can’t believe this even exists. It’s completely nonsensical. I woulda taken a swift kick to the nads other than sit through that mess. Complete rubbish!!
I agree that this would be a great movie if it wasn't attached to the wrong turn franchise, I love the wrong turn series and all the issues I have with the reboot is simply that it doesn't feel like anything related to the wrong turn series I've grown up with throughout the years
That’s why I liked it. Reboots should be different. Start something new, we’ve seen hillbilly cannibals, so something else. And it’s the same guy that did the original so I forgive it
This was the first comic book I bought along with Brian Azzarelo’s Joker in 2020 while on vacation with my family and started my Journey and my shelf is filling up quickly! I hope you do another update on the comics again because they really helped me a lot thanks so much!
The double date at the fair happens in either Bride or Burglar or Rules of Engagement. I found those two volumes more entertaining than the rest. I laughed a few times while reading those and those are the only two I ultimately ended up buying from the entire run. After this I treated myself to a GOOD Batman story and started reading The Court of Owls. I have to say that the whole Thomas Wayne Batman thing was a real turn off for me. When I realized that was going to be a thing, I stopped reading altogether. That's not what I want from a Batman story.
Oh ok, make sense, yeah not one of his better ones, I have the book on my shelf to read but it may be like many of his others where there’s so much inner dialogue that it’s hard to come across on film, there was a similar video I saw about his story about the blob in creepshow 2, that the film only got like half the story because it missed all the background
Loooool I watched this movie a few years back and I was randomly talking to a friend of mine about it. I didn't remember why I hated it so much, but I just remember that I did! Nice review, although it's 3 years old. Cheers!
I thought pearl was better than X, X kind of just felt boring to watch. Maxxxine looks interesting, hopefully it surpasses X. Pearl is top tier for me. Love the videos by the way, I’ve been binge watching your stuff, really enjoy the chill movie reviews.
Was thinking about checking this out and your review was one of the few videos that spoke on it. From a fellow true crime follower and horror fan. Thank you. Subscribed.
I think the movie is genius. I don’t think you should have revealed that there was a twist, or compared it to Jacob’s Ladder, those are pretty serious spoilers
I thought it sucked, so I didn’t care about spoilers. ‘Genius’ is a push! I think I said ‘spoiler alert’, but if I didn’t, it’s because I didn’t care enough about the integrity of the plot
Your reference to "The Force" at 10:10 was spot on. That's exactly how i felt. Her arm movements and gestures made her look like a Sith using "The Force". Sissy Spacek wasn't moving at all. Her eyes wide open. Not even blinking. Her only turning her head in the direction she wanted something to happen made it feel like she WAS "The Force". That and her emotionless expression was what made her scary. I also really enjoyed the 2002 version.
